The Labyrinth of the New Moon
Most of Union was familiar now with the second world that had so abruptly inserted itself into their lives. They called it the Dream World: a place where fiction became more real than reality and where the imagination knew no bounds. If it weren't quite so intrusive, some might even find it an amusing place to visit - there were secrets to be uncovered here, surely, where the mental barriers of friends and enemies were relaxed, and powers to be taken advantage of. Who wouldn't want to host a pool party every night?
For a week, the people of Union continue to pop in and out of the Dream World until most have grown tired of the seemingly random nature of the disappearances. Low mutterings and disgruntled complaints begin to spread throughout the city, but it seems as if no one truly knows how to stop it. Giant fans to disperse the fog are suggested facetiously once, and a number of Fan Rotoms are seen working hard the next day... But such efforts amount to nothing.
On the night of the seventh day, something changes.
Those who pop into the Dream World tonight will realize immediately - the landscape has changed. Dream mists still swirl and eddy at random intervals, but the Neutral Spaces have grown dark and shadowed. There's no ominous feeling of danger, but rather... alertness. The sense that something unusual is about to happen.
Up in the sky, a shadowed moon gleams with a faint luster. A new moon. ...This is impossible, of course, but then, many things are impossible in this world. And no matter where you head, it seems as if each step takes you closer to that black moon, a gaping maw in the twilit sky... Step forward, retreat backwards, close your eyes and flee. It matters not. One more step and it has devoured you whole.
There is the sensation of falling, of spinning, of coming to an abrupt halt without feeling an impact. But when you open your eyes, you are not alone. Two or three others you may recognize are with you, and a long corridor stretches out before your group with doors dotting each side as far as the eye can see.
Welcome to the Labyrinth of the New Moon.
[OOC: All plot logs for people in the Dream World will occur here. Please make the first post with all the names of the people in your group in the subject line so people know where to post. Mod responses will come about once every 24 hours as long as at least one person has posted.
The group listings are here. We will not be running randomizers anymore, but you may still sign up with a full group of at least three if you can find one and tag in. Keep in mind though that the log may not be finished depending on when it is posted. You may also hop in an existing group as long as all existing group members give permission and the group is not full.]

[ Sorry, Duke needs to focus for a moment.
An impact. That's that would help this spinning. Right? So he jumps in place once, and well, that sort of feels better.
He realizes that wait, there was another voice that wasn't terribly familiar after a moment. ]
.... Hello.
no subject
Hey, you guys don't happen to know where we are do you?
no subject
[He pauses, looking around, realizing it changed when the moon appeared and grabbed him]
No place I have ever seen... and a lot of doors.
[Ky folds his arms across his chest. There's a man he seen occasionally while patrolling the street, and he recognized the dark-haired man as the one that swapped bodies with his cousin Luxanna, but he knew neither of them that well]
I suppose we'll have to see where it goes.
no subject
[ He doesn't really deal too much with people, but he does tend to have at least one-
Duke's hand goes to his hair for a moment, but the flower isn't there. So Laulyse is elsewhere. ]
Unless we wish to test how soundproof these are... [ Explore to the best ability against safety in numbers.
Duke steps over to a door to see if there's anything that stands out on it. Any patterns? Do the others have patterns? ]
no subject
The doors are made of wood, with Gothic iron ornamentation. There are no other markings on the doors, and each of them appears to be identical. Putting an ear against it will yield the sound of faint murmurings.]
no subject
Let's check one of these doors.
[He's going to walk over and just open one without checking it unless someone stops him.]
no subject
Honestly, its not as if we got any better ideas. We should see what's behind it, and plan on what else to do from there.
[As Goku goes to open the door, he unsheathed his sword, it at first wobbles like a piece of rubber, then he smacks it back into obediently retaining it's shape]
Dreams.
no subject
The next time they blink, they are standing back in Union.
Phew, looks like everything's back to normal! Show's over! Congratulations, they must have picked the right door!
Except... Union isn't usually completely ablaze, is it? And did someone actually tame that Pokemon that had attacked the Citadel a few months back or is it just casually sitting now in the middle of Union transforming the city into an ocean of lava?]
Grrraaaaaaaaaaawr!
[The monstrosity leans over and casually begins to topple the Pokemon Habitat.]
no subject
[ A huge mess, a problem, not quite what should be happening. All of the above. ]
... Can we all think hard on how it really isn't here, and maybe it will not.. be here?
no subject
I think we picked the wrong door! Let's go back and try a different one! [He turns to see if the door is still there, so they can pick a different one. Goku's pretty sure this isn't where they are supposed to be.]
no subject
Shi... Unless one of you happens to be fireproof, we'll have to flee.
[Ky glanced around, if the door isn't available, it's best to find something else to hide in, though part of him wants to run out and protect the habitat. He had to remind himself that it isn't real]
no subject
[ He is most definitely not heat resistant.
The door they came in might be best, but Duke is also thinking that any door might work. If the one they came in through isn't there, he is already seeking hinges out. Hinges, another door, hopefully way out. ]
no subject
But there is no door behind them anymore. ...Well, actually, there are several doors, but they all belong to buildings that are clearly part of Union. ...Or they probably were part of Union before the buildings melted.
The Habitat Tower slowly begins to tilt as Heatran, unobstructed, continues his destruction. Distant cries can be heard from the several dozen floors.]
no subject
[The screams get Goku's attention though. That's bad.]
What if there's others stuck here too? We can't be the only ones that got transported to this dream realm...if they die here, they might not be able to get back.
no subject
We'll have to look for an exit later.
no subject
But they're going to rescue people. Step one in that is obviously getting there. Step two would be getting the big fire pokemon away from the people in need of rescue. ]
Out of curiosity, how are either of you at distance attacking? And more importantly, getting away from retaliating fire?
[ He's reaching out to find loose pieces of metal as he keeps a bit behind Ky. ]
no subject
Well, I dunno about getting away so much if it's going to burn a whole area all at once, but I've got a few tricks up my sleeve. I just hope it's going to be enough.
no subject
[He started, stealing a glance back before turning ahead]
Granted, depending on that thing's type - it might not be too helpful.
no subject
So it depends on what we want to do with that. [ He might not be too helpful, his tone sounds a little tired-annoyed at the thought. ]
no subject
It's like he knows something and he's being totally not serious about it in a completely serious situation.]
no subject
Grrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrgh!
[With this impressive vocalisation, the creature turns and spews molten hot lava right towards our intrepid trio! Such a powerful attack would surely reduce all but the strongest Fire-aligned Enlightened into ash; doubtlessly this will --
Huh.
Weird.
The moltan hot lava congeals wherever it touches them into the consistency of strawberry gelatin.
...Tastes kinda like strawberry gelatin, too.]
no subject
What.
The.
Hell?
[Ky mutters as he put the pinkish substance to his lips]
no subject
Panicked coughing ends as he realizes that no, he isn't melting, and now he's just... scraping it off his face. ]
... Strawberries. Dreams. [ Just. trying to get more off him. ]
... Don't know if I will be able to eat this without thinking of it as pokemon lava vomit now.
no subject
Oh.
My.
Savior.
It's food.]
ALRIGHT! Waaaaaahoooo!
[YEAH THAT'S A FULL BLOWN GROWN MAN DIVING RIGHT INTO THE GELATIN eating it, shoving it into his mouth, and looking SO. HAPPY.]
no subject
It seems like the only way to regain mobility... is to follow Goku's example.
Up behind the creature, the Habitat Tower continues to wobble alarmingly. ...A bit like the gelatin.]
