What: Pamela’s 19th birthday party. Everyone is invited.
When: July 18th
Where: The Isley manor

[Although Pamela’s mother Cordelia Isley is a known socialite, the Isleys don’t often throw parties – or not large ones, anyhow. Pamela’s father Walter Isley is a high ranking Engineer and a workaholic, so most Isley parties are just small affairs organized solely by Cordelia, or sometimes by Pamela’s grandparents, Hugh and Jocasta. In the latter case, the parties tend to be for an older crowd.

In light of Pamela’s nineteenth birthday, her recent evolution, and her involvement in the diplomatic relations between Union and Caldera, her grandparents felt generous and decided to throw a large party. Pamela herself had been hoping for a small event, but her grandparents and mother were having none of it. So Pamela took it upon herself to personally improve her grandparents’ front yard and garden. There’s a long winding path leading up to the Isley home, thoroughly adorned with flowers that are in full bloom.

The invitation was extended to everyone in Union as well as their Calderan visitors. Although nowhere near the entire city is here, there’s still a fairly large turnout of people from all social stations ranging from poor to nobility.]

[More food! He's sitting at the table, having already finished the appetizer.]

That was great! Man, I can't wait for the rest of the food to come out? How long is it gunna take anyway?

[Peter sits, quietly in awe of the level of Goku's gluttony.]

...Didn't I see you tearing through the buffet table earlier? Where the heck do you put it all?

You sure did! They had a lot of great stuff there, too. [He's eyeing other guest's food, those who haven't finished yet.]

I don't know, but all I know is that I'm still really hungry. [To which, his stomach, despite having eaten a ton already, does a little growl- feed it more please.]

[globetrotting]

[ Blue can't help but giggle behind her hand at hearing Goku at the table. ]

There'll be more room for everything if you wait, you know.

[garbagedisposal]

I've got plenty of room! You don't happen to want the rest of that, do you?

[He points to Blue's plate...it looks so good...]

[globetrotting]

[ She blinks, then gasps and puts a hand over the front of her plate. Ohhh no you don't. ]

Yes I do, thank you! [ She waves her cutlery at him. ] So behave!

Hey! I was just asking... [Looks like Goku will have to wait patiently for the next course.]

If I don't get any more food soon though, I'll starve...

[globetrotting]

I'd have to disagree with that, but okay -- how about we take your mind off that stomach of yours? [ Or try! ] Why don't you tell me how your training's been going.

[garbagedisposal]

[There's a tiny little growl from Goku's stomach.]

Uh, well, we're doing pretty good, and we're focusing mainly on training only right now. We did a lot of exploring the last few weeks, so I wanted to really get some good training in and not leave Union. It's been really intense so far, in fact I'm pretty sore!

[globetrotting]

[ Shhh, belly. ]

Mm, really? [ She's listening! ] Where did you go before? Have you been to the mountains at all yet?

[garbagedisposal]

Well, we did a little bit in the Scorched Forest and at the Lake Shrine and Moss Rock, but I've never been to the mountains yet. Why'd you ask? Is there something there I should explore?

[Or meet, like new strong pokémon for him to fight? That's what he really wants.]

[globetrotting]

[ Aha, so maybe she could give him some nice news (and a nice distraciton). She smiles. ]

Around the mountains, you'll find plenty of fighting types. Mankeys and mienfoos, and their evolutions too if you go in far enough. [ She picks up her drink, leaving her food now to speak. ] If you've only been in places around the forest before, you might not want to go too further in on your first few visits unless you're with a friend who knows the place, but I think it'll be perfect for you and Machop. You can do some exploring and training at the same time.

[garbagedisposal]

[This is great news.]

Oh man, really? That sounds great, I haven't found another fighting type for Machop to train with. I've been doing it mostly, since none of my other pokémon really fight in hand to hand combat. [Oooo oooo and that gives Goku more fighting pokémon to train with himself!]

Is that where you got Machoke?

[globetrotting]

[ She shakes her head at that. ]

No, but I'm bonded with a mienfoo from the mountains. Have you seen them in action? They're good with their hands, and Grace, he's very trained in the same way as them.

I have an azumarill who loves a good fight too. [ Her smile deepens, a laugh to her voice. ] She's a wild sort for sure.

[garbagedisposal]

No, I haven't! Maybe I need to go find one for myself, I'm sure it'll love to come along and train with us! [He totally knows where he's going next!]

You know, I know a lot of people who like to stick to certain types- you got a favorite kind?

[globetrotting]

[ She was happy to make someone interested, even if she wasn't certain about how careful he might be. Alas. To his question, Blue shakes her head. ]

Not really. It's all about the pokémon first before their kind or type or anything like that for me. The more different types of pokémon I meet, the more I get to learn about them too.

[ Whatever will be will be. She tilts her head slightly. ]

What about you? The fighting types fits a guy like you, but Klink doesn't match that.

[garbagedisposal]

I guess I do enjoy fighting types the most. It's just I can spar with them, and I can't do that with Klink. That's kind of hard when you don't have any arms! [He laughs.]

But don't get me wrong, he's pretty tough, just as tough as Machop. I like any pokémon just fine, it's just more fun when I can fight against them too.

[globetrotting]

[ She laughs a little herself, again shaking her head. ]

I don't think it's bad to have an interest in a specific type or anything. [ She's going to pick up her spoon here now okay you better be engrossed in conversation Goku ] Some people have an affinity to certain types, and it doesn't mean you're going to ignore other types either. Especially if you bond with them. We all have different reasons for bonding as closely to pokémon as we do anyway.

[ But quick, let's throw in a question so Blue can eat after. ] Would you ever try sparring a scyther?

[garbagedisposal]

[He doesn't make a single move for her food, but he is listening intently. He can see what she means, he's got an affinity for fighting pokemon, even if he has lots of different types.]

[But a Scyther?]

I might have to be a little careful sparring one, but I'd want to try. But man, if one of those scythes caught me, I'd be a goner!

[globetrotting]

[ She does chuckle a little again. Yeah, she wouldn't want to be caught on the other side of a scyther's blades either. ]

It would be good though, right? It would make you want to move fast. [ Or she suspects it would! ] I know some people with blades like them for sparring that way.

[ But actually, this brings a thought to her. ] Hmm, what do you use fighting for anyway? Would you use it outside of sparring? [ A grin before lifting up for another mouth of food. ] Wrestle a few wild golems?

[garbagedisposal]

[He is staring at her in wonder. If other people are training like that, maybe he should start doing it like that too... But her questions snaps him out of his thoughts, blinking a few times.]

Not just for that, I mean, it might be a little interesting wrestling a wild Golem and all. But outside of fighting for the fun of it I use it to help others. I mean, if I have the strength to help I should use it, right?

[But really it's mostly because Goku is a battle addict and he can't get enough of fighting.]

[globetrotting]

Sure, sure. I guess I didn't know if it was just a friendly thing or if you use it outside of that too. [ Actually, she wouldn't mind seeing him wrestle a golem... ]

So does that mean anything for your future? Wanting to be a helpful guy and all. Some people like to start off as trainers and then think about becoming Rangers or Swords. How about it? Are those lives for you?

[garbagedisposal]

How old do you think I am? [He just laughs.] I'm a Ranger. I have been for a while now!

[globetrotting]

What? [ Hahaha. ] Don't you think people can end up taking a long time before deciding if they want to commit to a group? I'm being considerate here!

[garbagedisposal]

I guess they can, if they want. Some figure it out before others, I suppose! And, well, I don't know if you've noticed but! I need something that can support this appetite of mine! [He pats his stomach. He knows he eats a lot.]
