What: Pamela’s 19th birthday party. Everyone is invited.

Where: The Isley manor

[Although Pamela’s mother Cordelia Isley is a known socialite, the Isleys don’t often throw parties – or not large ones, anyhow. Pamela’s father Walter Isley is a high ranking Engineer and a workaholic, so most Isley parties are just small affairs organized solely by Cordelia, or sometimes by Pamela’s grandparents, Hugh and Jocasta. In the latter case, the parties tend to be for an older crowd.

In light of Pamela’s nineteenth birthday, her recent evolution, and her involvement in the diplomatic relations between Union and Caldera, her grandparents felt generous and decided to throw a large party. Pamela herself had been hoping for a small event, but her grandparents and mother were having none of it. So Pamela took it upon herself to personally improve her grandparents’ front yard and garden. There’s a long winding path leading up to the Isley home, thoroughly adorned with flowers that are in full bloom.

The invitation was extended to everyone in Union as well as their Calderan visitors. Although nowhere near the entire city is here, there’s still a fairly large turnout of people from all social stations ranging from poor to nobility.]

Tons of fruit, salad, you name it, they had it! I had to go back for seconds, but I had a wait a second for them to refill it all.

[He wasn't kidding when he said he cleaned it out.]

Gee, and you were trying to take my food earlier? Which- [ one last mouthful, swallow -- and a clank into the bowl ] all gone!

Guess I'll have to wait after all, huh? [Sneaky! That's okay, he can be patient, but his stomach might growl a lot.]

You know, this whole time you've been asking a lot of stuff about me, what about you? I don't feel like I hardly know you and we've already spoken a few times now! Why'd you become a trainer?

[globetrotting]

[ Keep it together, stomach! ]

I didn't really mean to be like that. [ have an apologetic smile ] But I became a trainer because I wanted to be able to see what it was like outside. I had Helio and Dahlia too - my nidoking and houndoom - since I was young, and becoming a trainer with them by my side... it seemed like the most obvious way to do what I wanted.

[ she hums into her smile, sitting her hands onto her lap. ] I don't know what else I can share than that, so you'll just have to ask me anything else you're curious about.

[garbagedisposal]

[It seemed just as good as a reason as anything else, so he nods, smiling.] Well? Did you end up liking what you found on the outside?

[It's interesting for him to hear, spending almost his whole life outside the walls of Union, trying to help out.]

[globetrotting]

Yes! [ The answer is as bright and honest as you can imagine it. ] And I learnt a lot more about pokémon than I thought I would. I knew I would've liked to bond with more pokémon, but I didn't know how that would shape up.

Actually, [ her hands pick up again, resting clasped together on the side of the table ] I think I've found out I like training pokémon a whole bunch too.

[All of this was good to hear. Very good!]

I've gotta agree with you on that one, Blue. It feels really good to help 'em out, doesn't it? They probably woulda been fine out in the wild, but at the same time, reaching out to help each other and train together benefits all of us.

[He's always felt it was a step in the right direction.]

[globetrotting]

[ She hmms at that behind her lips. ]

Sure, I guess so. I would say they've always helped me out more than me helping them. They put more into it anyway, with all their training and going where I ask them, and rebuilding their lives to involve mine and the Union.

[garbagedisposal]

Yeah, I suppose so, huh? [His hand goes up behind his head.] I can't imagine living without them, it's hard to think of how at one time us humans were pitted against pokémon.

[globetrotting]

Was it strange for you the first time you went outside? We've always lived side by side with pokémon in here, but it's a different story how we're seen to the pokémon in the wild.

[garbagedisposal]

I was a kid when I first went out. It's been a long time, but I still remember it like it was yesterday. It couldn't of been more exciting. And I remember talking to my first pokémon too that day, it was really something else. We got along just fine, and even though I didn't bond with it, I'll always remember that pokémon really are just as important as anyone else. He didn't seem to mind me, since I wasn't trying to do anything hurtful to him or anything else.

It must be hard, to learn to trust us. I'm glad we've got these things- [He indicates the warp band-] even if I don't need it.

[globetrotting]

[ Ah, someone with the ability to speak on a more personal level with pokémon, was he? Blue listens with interest, smile brightening to the end of his words. He was a nice guy, despite his interest earlier to take her food!

There's a small pause before she speaks up herself. ]

I wonder if he remembers you too. [ the smile turns slightly cheeky ] Meeting a little strange looking thing he might've never seen before - I bet you were an energetic little kid too. [ heheh. ]

At least by now the pokémon in the forest must be used to us. [ Or keeping out of their way. ] Which is very good. So many people are always taking an interest in becoming trainers it seems, young and old. I remember helping a man who was very nervous about the outside because of the dangers... it's interesting, really.

[ she presses a finger onto the table, silent for a second. ] Goku, what do you think about the different societies out there? Not just pokémon - but the people too? I remember someone saying about the further we go outside, the more attention we attract. The Union's been through a lot recently, after all. Have you thought much about any of it?

[garbagedisposal]

Well... [His voice trails off, taking time now to think about it.] I guess I haven't thought about it too much, but I always figured that one day, we'd be able to find all the other cities and settlements. Or, they'd find us. I mean, it's only natural to want to get out there and explore.

There's probably a lot we can learn from them, but I'm more excited to see what kinds of different foods they have. [What you think the food line of thought was over, you were wrong]

And if they have any strong fighters for me to go head to head against. [Nope that line of thinking hasn't gone away either sorry]

[globetrotting]

[ Blue giggles - and it turns more into a laugh for a second or two before she hides her mouth behind a hand. She hadn't really known where such a question would go, but wowwww. ]

Really! [ okay, okay, let her calm, she's got this ] So I guess for you, as long as everyone is well and safe, you'll be happy either way. [ heheh ] And if you get to experience good foods and fights too, huh?

[garbagedisposal]

[He nods, she's got it exactly. Didn't take long for her to figure him out.]

Yeah, that's about it! [His head inclines to one side.] Why's that so funny?

[globetrotting]

Because out of everything we could discover in this big wide place we know nothing about, you think about eating and fight!

[garbagedisposal]

Well, sure, there's nothing wrong with that is there? [Speaking of which, here comes the next course...]

Oh, wow!!! Look at all that food, oh man, I'm starving still! [Look how excited he is!]

[globetrotting]

You know, they say that if you eat slower it'll make you feel fuller. [ but oh, goody! More food! ]

[garbagedisposal]

Aw, I don't eat that fast. [And he digs in. And he MOTORS through his food, dishes clanging, bowls emptying, a machine that couldn't be stopped.

Look at it disappear. Isn't it gross.]

[ SHE HASN'T EVEN TAKEN A BITE YET, GOKU... GOKU...

Goku! You're at a dinner! [ like wow come on we're not nobility here BUT ] Slow it down, okay? You're not at your house!

[ BAD GOKU BAD. ]

Sho? [SLURRRRRRRP in goes another huge bite.]

I always eat like this, is there something wrong?

[globetrotting]

You're being loud. It's rude. [ Yes there is something wrong.]

And if you can't close your mouth while you're chewing, you're eating too much at once. Come on. [ Sooo not impressed. ]

Gosh, sorry Blue. I'll try to slow it down... [He really looks like he feels bad, so he does. He slows down, a lot. But it doesn't take long before he's starting to quicken his pace because you can't stop shonen from eating like pigs.]
