1st Dream [Video]
[The camera wobbles a bit as an excited looking woman in her mid twenties fiddles with some settings before she finally seems somewhat satisfied. It's a little off center, but it's definitely got her face framed...mostly. There's clearly a Magnemite hovering over her left shoulder, too, it's single eye looking down at the device with obvious interest.]
Oh, good, it works.
[The woman coughs once, clearing her throat.]
Hello Union! My name's Yuuna and hehe...I just got the video function working the other day. At least, I think I did? Tell me if the picture's fuzzy or anything.
[She pauses, looking at something off screen and making a flailing motion with her arm and mouthing something inaudible. A moment later and there's a rustling sound, followed by the clink of metal.]
Anyway. Um, introductions. Yes. You can call me Yuuna, and this is Zedd. [She points up to the Magnemite.] And...I guess at the moment we're kinda freelancing. [Meaning: Unemployed.] I've been getting out and exploring a bit the last little while, but never particularly far. Didn't want to stretch my friend's limits, or mine, y'know? But I think today may be the day I start heading out a little further, so I made sure I got this thing working in case something happens. So...heh...if my next broadcast is screaming and shouting send help?
Are there any places you'd say to avoid? Or places there are some really cool pokemon to see? Or hey, if there's anyone not too far off that wants to go poke around some new places with me, I'm totally down. Just give me a buzz, okay?
[And then the video ends.]

[And then the video ends.]
video
[She's pulled out a pen and paper and is clearly taking notes, scribbling excitedly.]
And yes, I did. Fighting types, or pokemon that are similar looking to people. I have the easiest time working with those.
video
[ Anyway! ] But the hot springs might not be too bad. And they're hot springs. [ She grins. ] I haven't been there in ages, but from what I remember, there's growlithe, the fire puppy pokémon I'm sure you've seen, then there's mankey and darumaka, and....
[ She looks up, clicking her tongue. ]
Aipom? Right, aipom - the ones with a hand that looks like a tail. There's a few more too - but anyway, I think you would be okay if you went there. As long as your pokémon aren't too lively or there aren't too many excited mankey visiting when you do, all the pokémon are there mainly to relax.
video
Well, hot springs are pretty much the best thing. And yes, two arms, two legs, bipedal. Like a mankey, yes! [They are just the most adorable things.]
I...don't know if I've seen an aipom, but they sound cute. I mean, I guess in the long run I don't guess it matters where I go first though. I'll make it a point to visit all of these places. I honestly doubt my friends would let me stop at just one place. Even...if hot springs sound super relaxing. Maybe for like...a whole week.
[A 3-fingered hand appears on the warp band now, one finger raised and wagging at her. No being lazy!]
video
No, that wouldn't be any good. You'd look like a cooked cabbage after that long! [ Another small giggle, and -- alright, she's okay. ]
The lake shrine is my guilty pleasure for relaxing. You have a clearing around where the lake and shrine is, then right behind it are the mountains. If you follow the stream down south too, you'll head right towards the sea. [ And she does love the sight of the sea. ]
It's a good place to stop and rest too. None of the pokémon really care to do much of anything but laze around.
video
Who says you can just sit around, Yuuna? And who are you, Blue, to encourage her! Gosh, its hard enough getting her to want to practice anymore.]
And you know this little guy sure isn't going to wallow around. Gouken's got more energy than I know what to do with, sometimes. Are there any places he, personally, could find a good challenge?
[Y'know. One that won't get him killed?]
video
He's a fighting type, sooo - the scorched forest wouldn't be so bad. It's got some dark-types, but there's fire-types as well. [ So not everything is going to be totally weak to him. ]
But I guess it depends on what challenges you think he's ready for? [ 'What he can handle', but said more nicely. ] How often does he - or all of you - train?
video
Well we've been training together for close to two years now. Pretty much every day, for me and most of us. Zedd here is a bit newer, I've only know him for a few weeks, but Uzushio and Gouken have been training with me a while. There's only so much we can do in a dojo, though, which is part of why we're all going out.
So, I don't really know. We could be a lot stronger than we think, or weaker. I've been out into the forest a few times and the Old City too but beyond that I don't really have a lot of perspective, y'know?
[Surprisingly, this space-cadet is actually pretty rational.]
video
The best suggestion I can give is taking it slowly. If you don't mind spending some days out and travelling, you could easily visit around the different locations in the forest in no time - the scorched forest, the forest shrine and the lake shrine that is. Take some supplies, see how you like it; you probably know that antidotes are going to be the most necessary out there, but you don't need to go overboard either if you're careful.
But if all of you have some training, I don't think it should be so bad. You could try the mountains too - just around the lower sections to begin with? There's actually plenty of fighting types there that don't mind a fight, but you'll want to be careful of the phanpy and the teddiursa. Are you familiar with them?
video
Supplies I have. I was going to grab a bedroll too, but antidotes? What for?
[Her question, though, is cut off by Gouken making a rather loud grunt and starting to walk away. This prompts Yuuna to reach out and grab him by the shoulder to haul him back.]
I think you said the magic words, though. The foothills may be where we end up. But...um...no, I'm not terribly familiar with phanpy. Teddiursa though, that does ring a bell. Big ears, fuzzy? About Gouken's size?]
video
Oh! And larvitar too. [ Goodness, how did she forget? ] Tyranitar are vicious pokémon.
[ She briefly pauses. ] But it's not as bad as I'm making it sound. It can be bad out there, but this is just the extreme. Your only trouble might be getting scared every other corner by the geodudes. I'm absolutely certain they camouflage against everything to get a fright out of people on purpose.
video
[Little does she know...]
And geodudes I think we can handle. I mean...have you been down in the Old City? There are magnemites and klinks everywhere, so it's hard to tell what is and isn't a machine.
video
[ So please watch out for them. ]
Haha, good point. The mountain isn't so bad anyway once you get used to it. It's just not flat and -- simpler like the forest in a way, so people don't suggest it for first timers. That, and most people who ask questions like you haven't usually been training for two years already.
Video
[She grins again and flexes her arms, showing off a surprising amount of muscle. Tyrogue does the same, of course.]
I mean, hehe, when you've got guns like these? The idea of climbing sounds intriguing.
Video
[ At the show Blue grins, tilting her head slightly with a playful look on her face. ]
Oh, nice guns. You're both going to make this girl jealous with those on screen, you know.
[ Flirty fun aside, she quickly adds- ] If we ever bump into each other, we can have a friendly bout. Well, Gouken and one of the pokémon with me - my guns aren't very well trained. But I have a mienshao who I'm sure would love a new training partner. And a machoke.
Video
Well, you don't have to be jealous, sweetie. You stop by the school and you can train too. But...definitely we can figure a way to do some training. My poliwag could also use a new partner so I'm sure we can arrange something.
Video
Well, if you end up in the mountains any time in the next few days we might bump into each other. I'm getting materials on a job right now, but I could drop by this school when I'm done. Or you could always contact me when you're available? My schedule's a little wobbly, but I'll usually stay around the Union for a day or two if I can help it before heading off.
Video
As for the schedule...honestly I don't even know where I'll be tomorrow, let alone anything set. Like I said, freelance.
Video
[ It's like instantly adding somebody to your contact list. ]

[Action in the Mountains, Later that week]
So, consequently, Yuuna is now poking around the mountains with a slightly different lineup when she catches the crunch of feet in the rocky soil. Turning quickly, with all four of her pokemon doing the same, her hand strays near her sword, ready to draw. Gouken's fists go up and Kyo sets himself into a fighting crouch, while Uzushio and Zedd move to the human's flanks in a defensive posture. Clearly they've practiced this.
Yuuna's voice calls out in case it's another human coming their way, but it's serious, tinged with steel. She's taking no chances, at all.]
Hello? Who's there?
no subject
Hello! It's fine, it's safe!
[ She can't be seen due to the stone wall blocking her, and she doesn't moved into view just in case. ]
Is it fine if we come forward?
no subject
Yes, it's alright, Blue.
[She had half expected to run into the younger woman, at least.]
It's Yuuna, from the other day.
no subject
Actually, her steps aren't all that audible next to her nidoking's, who walks with the same speed at her side; he may have an intimidating appearance for some, but he doesn't assert his presence at all like other of his kind might do upon meeting others.
Blue wears a smile on her face ready to greet Yuuna and her company with. She's dressed up warmly and with her hair back in a tight bun, body dirtied in spots but looking fine otherwise. ]
Hi, you got out here quick. Did you just get here today?
no subject
Clearly, she's been out here a few days, and she seems none the worse for wear. At least not externally.]
Well, actually I've been here a few now. I ended up spending a couple of days closer to Union and then decided to move on.
