[The camera wobbles a bit as an excited looking woman in her mid twenties fiddles with some settings before she finally seems somewhat satisfied. It's a little off center, but it's definitely got her face framed...mostly. There's clearly a Magnemite hovering over her left shoulder, too, it's single eye looking down at the device with obvious interest.]

Oh, good, it works.

[The woman coughs once, clearing her throat.]

Hello Union! My name's Yuuna and hehe...I just got the video function working the other day. At least, I think I did? Tell me if the picture's fuzzy or anything.

[She pauses, looking at something off screen and making a flailing motion with her arm and mouthing something inaudible. A moment later and there's a rustling sound, followed by the clink of metal.]

Anyway. Um, introductions. Yes. You can call me Yuuna, and this is Zedd. [She points up to the Magnemite.] And...I guess at the moment we're kinda freelancing. [Meaning: Unemployed.] I've been getting out and exploring a bit the last little while, but never particularly far. Didn't want to stretch my friend's limits, or mine, y'know? But I think today may be the day I start heading out a little further, so I made sure I got this thing working in case something happens. So...heh...if my next broadcast is screaming and shouting send help?

Are there any places you'd say to avoid? Or places there are some really cool pokemon to see? Or hey, if there's anyone not too far off that wants to go poke around some new places with me, I'm totally down. Just give me a buzz, okay?

[And then the video ends.]

Right, sure.

[She's careful, since she figures that both Zedd and Bolts would be pulled in towards it, and that would be a pretty good indication of where things might be going. Of course, Zedd would probably keep trying to orbit her anyway...for some reason.]

So, you come up this way often then?

Mm, now and then. I've been doing it more lately, but that's because an employer's been wanting to get materials around the area. [ And what the paying employer wanted, the paying employer got. ]

But I've been around in different areas than this. There's the canyons too, and I've visited the island out in the sea and to Caldera too -- but I went to Caldera when everyone else did. [ Referring to the skirmish. ] Ah, have you ever heard of the ice rock area here too? But that's higher up.

Ice Rock? Yeah, I have heard of that one. It got mentioned in a book. Didn't think it was too far away. And I...heard about Caldera? But I didn't follow the news beyond there was something bad happening and I needed to get tougher to help.

[She pauses, looking annoyed at herself.]

I really...hell, I feel like I could've done more than just sit around, thinking back to it.

[ Blue doesn't need to look back to hear that annoyance in Yuuna's voice, and it's not unfamiliar. The words remind her of another conversation with a friend, but not about Caldera. ]

Well, it's good to get motivated by it. We survived and so did Caldera, and that's the main thing there. But you know [ she pauses here, briefly ] ever since we started going further and further than ever before, we've been hearing and meeting with more trouble. I doubt that's going to be the last time something that big happens. Who know what'll be next.

[When she pauses, Yuuna's jaw tightens and she stops moving a moment. She knows that won't be the end of trouble outside of Union. She knows very well that there's danger and dangerous people lurking all over their world. And she knows very well that despite being relatively new to exploration, she's a good deal better equipped to handle bad situations than most people in Union.

And as flighty and dreamy as she is? Yuuna knows that she has a responsibility to those people. She'd failed to because a doctor because she got bored, and she'd failed to become a historian because she craved adventure...but she'd resolved herself not to fail as a trainer. Gouken holds beside her, his fist coming to rest on her shoulder. He knows what she's thinking, he remembered how frustrated they'd both been too.]

Yeah. And when that happens...I won't hide next time.

[ Dahlia behind them stops when Yuuna does, and Blue as well does when she thinks to look behind herself and see the woman has paused. Clearly, it was an event that she had put a lot of thought in. Regretted, even, by her words that she didn't put more into the effort.

It wasn't easy to pinpoint if it was something to be concerned about or to allow to grow into a drive that would push Yuuna further, with a team by her side with the same desire to be involved in what she would lead them in. Blue didn't know the woman well enough for that, but she knew that sometimes, people could be taken into believing they weren't doing enough, even when they were doing plenty, to feeling useless over things that couldn't be changed and wallowing on that.

Red had been a little like that too. ]

Some people say being ignorant of the world around you is hiding, but if you didn't know -- or even if you did, that's the past. [ She kicks a piece of rock aside from under her foot. ] I'm not saying it's not good to be motivated - but just don't think you need to be on the front lines, you know?

[ She puts her hands on her waist. ] It's kind of unfair of me to talk like you're going to do anything reckless, but it's from a good place, promise.

[Yuuna steps up to stand beside Blue, giving her a wan smile. It was indeed a bit of regret, for not being able to do the right thing, but as much a hefty desire to get stronger and stand up for others. She'd been taught that was one of the first things any martial artist needed to learn: that they have a responsibility to do what they can for other people. And as someone who'd repeatedly failed to follow through on her promises, she was not about to wallow in self pity. ]

Becoming a trainer, Blue...is my chance to change myself. [It just slips out, really, but it's very true. And because of that, she just keeps on going. There's no point in just saying something halfway.] I've said that a lot, in my past. I've been selfish and I never really stuck with any one job for very long. And my parents...bless them, and my teachers too, always acted like I was letting Union down. That was before I met Uzushio and Gouken, and made the decision to become a trainer, though.

[She holds up a fist and looks right at Blue.]

The only one that really seemed to get me was Master Yashio, my fighting instructor. One of the first things I was told was that I have a duty to Union, and that if he taught me I'd have to put myself second for the good of others. That ultimately that was what his teachings were all about.

So, no, I'm not going to do anything reckless if their's danger. But I'm not going to hide in the city anymore and shove my head in the sand like a Doduo. I'm going to do my part, right here with my team. Maybe I'll get hurt...but anyone can. You, me, Enlightened. That's not the issue though. The issue is that we've got power. Either by being Enlightened or being a Trainer, and with that power there comes a certain duty to the people that don't have it.

[ Blue allows Yuuna to speak on, though she's surprised for how much the other woman shares -- really, it's a lot that Blue didn't expect her words to bring forth.

She's still silent for a few seconds after Yuuna's done, and then she steps away from the wall, turning to her with a simple smile on her face. ]

I don't deny the troubles at all that we all face. I like it out here, but I know that tomorrow, I could be gone forever. One tiny slip, one wrong decision; lots of families have to be prepared for that everyday.

[ Her smile wavers before she turns again, facing to the direction they had been going. She touches the side of her head; she's gotten used to do it up like this, but it's still an odd thing. ]

I'm not trying to stop you -- I'm just being concerned, that's all. [ She peeks over her shoulder, laughing lightly with a much brighter face. ] You already know a lot more about protecting yourself than other trainers, so I'm sure you won't do so bad.

[ She shrugs, small and friendly. ] Even if you didn't ask me to be, I'm a worrywart about others, is all.

[Yuuna is definitely a fairly open person. No need to hide anything around her. She even manages to return that smile too, the grin coming easily.

She's prepared, come what may. That's part of her way, too.]

You sure are a worrywort. But that's okay. I'm "impulsive" and do what I want anyway.

[Including airquotes!]

But no path worth walking is easy, yeah? So, I figure I may as well take the hardest one. And besides, you're not that much younger than me, Blue. Maybe a couple of years. I know you get what I'm talking about.

[ The airquotes gets a hum of amusement, and she turns halfway again just for a moment. ]

Well! For now, we've got a path right here to keep on. [ She points forward, then smiles playfully as her fingers lightly brush the skin of her own cheek. ] And you don't know - maybe I'm a woman double your age with really great skin, hmm?

[Yuuna gives her a somewhat knowing smile, leaning in just a bit.]

Call it women's intuition, sweetie. I'd say you're...no older than twenty to my twenty two. You don't have that look in your eye yet.

Uh oh, a look in the eye? We've got a classic oldie on our hands. [ Okay, back to Dahlia. ] Alright Dahlia, Bolts, Helio, let's get going!

[ Dahlia gets back on her feet, having sat down after how long the conversation turned out. ]

Yep! [Yuuna makes ready to get going too.]

Y'know, the look that says 'I'm an old maid'. I dunno, it's what everyone tells me I don't have either. Besides, you're too cute to be old.

[Hitmonchan rumbles a laugh at that, remembering how often Yuuna'd been told to stop trying to act like she was super old.]

[ Nidoking follows on behind them, surveying around them behind he does. ]

Don't you think older people can look cute too? Not that you're supposed to say that aloud. Or not in front of them at least.

Oh...maybe. But they don't just...exude cuteness.

[Poliwag hops alongside, spinning a bit as it does.]
