Hawke's been plenty busy these past weeks helping refugees and running errands for people; he's finally getting used to the city, and becoming familiar with it, as well.

It's not unusual to see him walking to and fro trailed by a pack of puppy Pokémon. The Houndour sticks to his side like a second shadow, but the Lillipup, Vulpix, and Growlithe all have a tendency to trail behind from time to time when an interesting person or Pokémon catches their attention.

Lillipup will busily investigate anyone sitting on a bench or at an outdoor cafe table, sniffing efficiently to determine if there might be any forthcoming treats.

Vulpix is mostly attracted to people or Pokémon that appear to be alone. She herself doesn't like to be alone, so when she notices that condition in others, she makes an effort to change it.

Growlithe likes to join groups, especially if it looks like a game is going on. If you're training with your pokemon, don't be too surprised if you suddenly find yourself with an addition!

Hawke is pretty good about noticing the straggler and doubling back to collect, but sometimes it takes a few minutes. Plenty of time to make a new friend!

[Hello. There is a Lillipup sniffing industriously at your feet. You seem to be eating something. It's nice to share, you know.]

Well, now. Look who's here.

[Michiru smiles. She's...not at a cafe, perse, but at least she's got food. In fact, she's sitting on a blanket under a nice tree, curled up against a large, sparkly Milotic. Milotic has a whole case of Pokepuffs to herself, but that doesn't stop her from eyeing the approaching Lillipup with suspicion.]

[Well, Milotic is right to be suspicious! Paladin is all about food, after all.

She yips a cheerful Hello! to Michiru, and remembers her manners long enough to turn to the Milotic. Hi! I'm Paladin. Who're you? all the while looking as endearing and as ingratiating as it is possible for a Lillipup to look.

So, pretty darn endearing and ingratiating. She's even wagging her tail politely! Look at how cute she is!]

[Milotic frowns, not quite yet taken in by the cuteness she's presented with. With a Trainer like Michiru, however, she's got some modicum of decorum, at the very least. Even if she's still hovering protectively over her treats.]

Miii. [Melody, that's her name. Perhaps it's a trick of light, but her answer is seems to be accompanied by a small burst of sparkles.

Michiru just chuckles quietly and opens up her book again. Melody glances at her Trainer and...even if she knows what her Trainer wants her to do, maybe if she ignores the puppy, she'll get to keep all her food.]

Paladin is unimpressed by bizarre sparkles. If she can't eat it, she doesn't care. Her tail continues to wag and her eyes continue to communicate how adorable and lovable she is and how much she definitely deserves to be fed, even as she responds to Melody.

It's nice to meet you!

...And then the expectant silence descends.]

[Braig's quietly enjoying a cup of tea in the fresh air; while his Murkrow's flown off somewhere, his Purrloin's trying to sneak treats off a nearby table and his Espurr's poking him.
Felines. Seriously. How did he ever get into this mess?]

Ah-ah-ah! One at a time, you two... oh?

[Oh, good, he noticed her. Paladin's tail begins to wag gently as she looks up at Braig, Lillipup charm turned up to 110%. Please be so kind, good sir, as to notice how very small and cute she is. And also see how malnourished she looks, with her bright, inquisitive eyes and sleek, shiny coat!]

[Pfft. No fooling the trickster. Still, that's damn cute. He laughs at the act-]

What've we got here, huh?

[We have an absolutely starving puppy that is obviously very unloved and poorly taken care of, is what we have, sir. Why, it looks as if her coat hasn't been thoroughly brushed since at least this morning! That's practically forever ago!

She begins wagging her tail more energetically, as if that will help him reach the conclusion that she is clearly in need of a snack.]

Hello there.

[Lillipup has accosted a strangely dressed woman who's carrying around an apple stuck on the end of a knife. She had been munching away at it until this Pokémon just came up and started staring at her.]

You're a curious little pup, aren't you? I'd take you home, but I think my Purrloin would get jealous.

[Munch.]

[That's okay, Miss! She's already got a home - she's just interested in your snack. She sits directly at Isabela's feet, looking up appealingly at her and wagging her little tail endearingly.]

Do you even eat fruit...?

[She shrugs, pops the apple off the knife, slices it, and hands the Pokémon the half she hasn't been chewing on.]

Not like I paid for that anyway. So are you a stray like myself, or just wander off from your partner?

[hawkethat]

[This Lillipup eats anything, up to and including fruit! Excuse her and thank you, Miss, she's just going to be mowing down on the proffered apple slice, now, little tail wagging at top speed to show her appreciation.

If Isabela strains her ears, she might hear the sound of someone calling "Paladin!" Or she might not. The Lillipup hears, though; her tail misses a beat at the sound, but resumes as if nothing happened. She doesn't even pause in her munching.]

Vulpix

[There is a curious Vulpix attempting to get your attention with a gentle paw. Her big brown eyes are alight with curiosity, and it's pretty obvious she'd like to make friends and maybe find out what you're doing.]

[What are you talking about Scout, you already know Anders. He is alone, though, seated on a bench reading, preferring it outside when the weather is this nice. He'll glanced down when he feels paws against his knee though, not exactly expecting company.]

...Scout?

[Where's Hawke? A quick glance doesn't reveal any beard, but he can't be bothered to look for the man, either. He gently strokes the little Vulpix' head.]

What are you doing here?

Vul!

[She's investigating! And having found a familiar face, and a familiar lap, she hops up onto the bench beside Anders to avail herself of that lap. Stepping daintily on his legs, she circles briefly and settles down, her tails obscuring Anders' book.]

[Sigh. It really is difficult to find a quiet moment to read, lately. There's always someone there to distract him.

...Yeah, he isn't really complaining.]

You should know by now, Garrett worries if you suddenly disappear on him.

Vulpix!

[She knows, but she's not really concerned. Garrett isn't too far off, and he's really good at finding her.

Meanwhile, why aren't you scratching her ears, Anders? Does she have to nose at your hand to remind you of your obligations?]

[This guy is usually always with at least his Floette, but he's alone today, being grouchy and kinda paranoid and too aware of his surroundings. So he actually sees the Vulpix draw close to where he's sitting, on the floor with his back to a tree--he just didn't think it was coming to him.

Giving a questioning glance]

[Oh, she's been noticed! She'll just finish her approach, in that case, and offer a polite greeting:]

Vulpix?

[You look kind of lonely! Are you okay?]

Yo?

... you lost or something?

Growlithe

[Are you training with your Pokemon partner? Or are you possibly playing a game, frisbee or fetch, or something like that? Do you mind an interloper? Captain is friendly and energetic and he loves to run and play!]

[onetrackminds]

[Those Nidoran are not playing with a ball, though. It might seem like that from a distance, but once he gets closer, Captain might notice that what's rolling down the hill towards him is actually more egg shaped. And is letting out distressed little pii, piii!! noises.

It seems like Dame got away from Anders somehow, and those Nidoran are still following. Help her, friend! Eggs are not for playing!]

[Captain's ears perk at the sound of a familiar voice, and the distress in that voice catches his attention immediately. He looks over, and immediately sees the problem - and leaps to intervene!

The first order of business is to stop Dame's dangerous-looking tumble. He runs swiftly into her wobbly path and crouches, using his flank to create a gentle stopping barrier for her to bump into. Once her forward momentum ceases, he's back up on his feet, standing protectively over the little Togepi and facing her pursuers head on, ready to defend her honor with his life!]

[Dame blinks a few times in surprise as she's stopped, and it's a moment before she recognises Captain - she's still disoriented. Once she does, though, she lets out a relieved togepi! and starts rocking back and forth. Within a few moments she's gained enough momentum to roll to her feet, where she stands, wobbling a little, between his front legs.

The Nidoran, meanwhile, are charging down the hill towards them. Seeing that the egg has back-up, though, they hesitate. Are you really going to help her, little growlithe? There's two of them, and only one of you. Are you sure about this choice?]
