SPRING GALA!

Log Deputy: nor PM, church PM
Log Deputy Schedule: We're both on around 9PM-9AM EST usually if you need us right away.
Participating Characters: Anyone who wants to join!

Plot Description: Spring Gala at the Fabre's!

Every year, Judge Fabre throws a birthday party for Asch and Luke's mother Suzanne. Because she's a bit sickly, the party is thrown outside when the air is the freshest in the spring. Any and all nobles and those of high standing in the community are invited, but there are... ways for the common rabble to get in and have a good time as well. Namely, the part of the manor ground's fencing that was torn down during the earthquakes. That, or maybe the guards are having a good time too and wandered away for some ...action. Either way, everyone's eligible! There will be food and drinks (children, mind the wine,) cake, dancing and more! Don't forget the fireworks at midnight, it might be something romantic for you and your sweetie. Wear something nice and mingle!

Warnings/Notes: Nothing but fancy outfits and maybe a little alcohol around here.

Welcome to the Fabre's, please enjoy your stay.

[Up until this point, Cordelia had been getting acquainted with the wall. Not much for dancing--not for being terrible at it, but the height thing was an issue--it came as a surprise when she was approached. Turning, she hid it well, but blinked a few times when she had to look up instead of down. She wasn't quite used to that.]

Are you sure?

It's Cordelia Chevalier, isn't it?

[See, Fai is not completely useless at keeping up to date with the noble families of the city. As a matter of fact, he's rather good at it. He just isn't very interested, usually.]

[Not that the Flourites think that the Chevaliers count in the same way they do, not being a "pure" Enlightened bloodline, but happily their opinions in turn don't count for much as far as Fai is concerned. It all works out.]

And I wouldn't ask if I wasn't sure. That would be terribly rude, wouldn't it? Besides, is there any reason why I shouldn't be sure?

[She smiles a bit easier. Somehow, asking someone else to dance with her seemed like something her mother would have something to do with, but that didn't seem to be the case here.]

Yes.

[She offers a hand.]

And not at all. I'm not asked often, so I have to make sure.
comparative_insanity: (I touched you once too often)

Fuck yeah I actually have an icon for this

[No, Fai is quite done with parental matchmaking on his own part, so he's not going to condone others being subjected to it.]

[He takes her hand, of course, and like a proper gentleman bows and kisses her hand - that is to say, politely brings his lips close without actually kissing, because few people like unsolicited lips on their body.]

I shall have to speak to the Council about my suspicions that people of the upper classes are rapidly going blind, then. [Horrible flattery, but he really sounds so genuine abut it.] In the meantime, the very least I can do is stand up with you as soon as the next dance begins.

[Flattery does not do much to her, but she does smile as he makes a motion to kiss her hand. Lux Crownguard certainly was a bit foolish to let this one go, even if he was known to be a bit eccentric.

Be sure to tell me how that goes, I would be interested to hear.

You're too kind.
