Plot Description: Spring Gala at the Fabre's!

Every year, Judge Fabre throws a birthday party for Asch and Luke's mother Suzanne. Because she's a bit sickly, the party is thrown outside when the air is the freshest in the spring. Any and all nobles and those of high standing in the community are invited, but there are... ways for the common rabble to get in and have a good time as well. Namely, the part of the manor ground's fencing that was torn down during the earthquakes. That, or maybe the guards are having a good time too and wandered away for some ...action. Either way, everyone's eligible! There will be food and drinks (children, mind the wine,) cake, dancing and more! Don't forget the fireworks at midnight, it might be something romantic for you and your sweetie. Wear something nice and mingle!

Warnings/Notes: Nothing but fancy outfits and maybe a little alcohol around here.

Indeed. I'm afraid most of those with power or money enjoy only sitting on their laurels and watching people scrounge for scraps.

[ Wow, he seems... kinda passionate about that. Noble, even. He would, if he weren't thinking about his brothers, specifically. But he smiles just as quick, nodding at Michiru to let her know he doesn't mean her. ]

But I believe we can all give back. Choosing to act-- that's what's important. Different methods are no less worthy than any other.

Like what? [methods, that is] Besides joining the Swords. [seems like there's been a bit of a scandal with the Swords lately, in any case.]

Well, we've got a lot of work to do in the Swords already. Garen and I are hard at work at setting down stricter guidelines for our officers.

[ Oh, he knows. He's got his eyes on bigger things. And he'll do them, too. Even if it means killing princesses or something. ]

Every bit helps. We can't bring Union to its fullest if the pillars holding it up are cracked and unreliable.

And who, exactly, would you deem cracked and unreliable?

[totes taking that metaphor and running with it. Maybe a different socialite would've been more tractable, really.]

Well, my cousins, unfortunately.

[ He sighs. Not one to gossip-- but no, he totally is. ]

As much as I love and care about those two, their... appointment to the swords was supposed to be about teaching them responsibility. Something they haven't quite yet learned much about.

[ A shrug. Kids, y'know? ]

But that's just one example.

[she'd usually at least like to pretend she's above gossip, but she likes knowing things a little too much for that.

Cousins, cousins. Hmmm.

Her smile gets slightly more amused.] Are you maligning our hosts, sir?

I would never say a word about my dear Aunt Suzanne. She's a splendid woman. One who's been almost like a mother to me.

[ She treats her kids better than his mom, at least. Though Hans' mom would never let anybody step in on her turf... ]

It's because I care about Asch and Luke that I believe they needn't be coddled. I believe treating all our officers equally will be the first step in getting the Swords back to our former glory.

[heh. She's met Luke briefly, at least, and she saw their performance at the Kricketune Theater.]

That would be quite an undertaking. [connecting that (mildly) botched performance with the word 'glory' is difficult. Though the Pokemon were adorable, at least.] They seem to be quite carefree.

They've lived very comfortable lives.

[ They were spoiled rotten, in other words. But Hans says it without a hint of spite. ]

But I'm confident they'll learn. They're very bright.

However you may parse it, I do believe I prefer the company of their cousin to theirs.

[ Hans smiles, giving her a twirl. He loves flattery, you can tell. But that's enough gossip from him. ]

Why don't you tell me how you're enjoying the party so far? Found everything to your liking?

I seem to find myself giving impromptu dance lessons more often than not. [she flashes Hans an amused look.] It's wonderful to find myself dancing with somebody who knows what he's doing, to be quite honest.

[not having to fear for her toes is part of it too]
