Plot Description: Spring Gala at the Fabre's!

Every year, Judge Fabre throws a birthday party for Asch and Luke's mother Suzanne. Because she's a bit sickly, the party is thrown outside when the air is the freshest in the spring. Any and all nobles and those of high standing in the community are invited, but there are... ways for the common rabble to get in and have a good time as well. Namely, the part of the manor ground's fencing that was torn down during the earthquakes. That, or maybe the guards are having a good time too and wandered away for some ...action. Either way, everyone's eligible! There will be food and drinks (children, mind the wine,) cake, dancing and more! Don't forget the fireworks at midnight, it might be something romantic for you and your sweetie. Wear something nice and mingle!

Warnings/Notes: Nothing but fancy outfits and maybe a little alcohol around here.

[Luke's not planning on dancing either, but the idea of Cordelia dancing with someone is pretty laughable. She's super tall, taller than he is at least, and (in his opinion of course) pretty homely too. Maybe the lighting in the dance area would make her seem prettier. He didn't really get it.]

[Still, he comes up to her while she's wall flowering, looking just as dolled up in a finely tailored suit. He gives her a wave and Mieu vee!s happily up at her from his ankles.]

Wouldn't figure you'd be in here.

[Crouching down to personally greet Mieu, Cordelia stands up again, looking a bit confused. What did he mean by that exactly?]

I would never miss your mother's birthday.

[Assuming he meant the party at all, not thinking of how strange it might be for her to be dancing.]

Well duh, that'd be super mean.

[Mieu rubs into her, nuzzling against her ankles in a very Purrloin like fashion. He's even matching Luke today, in a blue sweater and red bow tie.]

I meant dancing. Won't your big feet get in the way?

[You really do look quite charming, Mieu. She would pet you behind the ears if it wasn't so uncomfortable to bend over.

A sigh.]

My mother requested I make time to fit a few spaces in my dance card, just in case.

[Said in such a way that she thought much the same about the whole arrangement as Luke.]

Uugh, that thing. I'm just lucky mother only makes me and Asch dance with her.

[Suzanne seems to know that matching her boys up with girls is... disastrous, from past experiences. Why Luke is in the dancing area then is a mystery but maybe he just came to bother people. That wouldn't be surprising.]

It's boring though, why not skip out?

[Cordelia shakes her head simply.]

I don't want to make my mother unhappy. And in any case, it's only one night.

I meant on the dancing, stupid.

[Luke rolls his eyes.]

Go get a drink instead or something.

I'll be all right. I need to at least appear as if I'm making the effort. Still, I'm surprised to see you here, Luke. You do not seem the type.

I'm just hear to listen to the music. The lounge is getting packed with hungry people, so I didn't want to stick around.

[He's been eating... all day... while people prep for the party. He's kind of sick of food now, especially after a whole plate of cheese appetizers.]

Besides, they won't let me try the champagne yet even though I'm seventeen. You should get me some.

[Pouting still, he offers her his arm as the next song starts. He might be blushing a little.]

I'm still leading though! Even though you're taller...

[She takes it, letting him lead her to the dance floor.]

[He puts a hand on her waist somewhat awkwardly, beginning to lead into a somewhat simple waltz as the music begins. His movement is light though, and he seems confident.]

You're lucky, I'm way better at this than Asch.

[She remembers helping both cousins learn to dance. Asch wasn't really that bad, so the comment gives her a bit of a chuckle. She won't be fueling the sibling rivalry flames today.

Her movements are very graceful as well, and despite the height difference, she is a very easy partner to lead.]

I haven't been able to speak with your mother yet. Is she enjoying herself?

Yeah, she's really happy about how it turned out.

[Luke stops looking at his feet for a moment... and is met with a great view of her cleavage. Well. He blushes a little and looks away.]

Father got her a string of pearls from the island they found, it's really pretty.
