[the warp band video is as grainy and black and white as always. When it comes on, it's pointed toward the kitchen table. Laid out on the table are feathers. Three of them are about three feet long, and another four are between a foot and six inches. Even without color, it's possible to tell that these aren't just any ordinary feathers. These feathers seem to be made of gleaming metal, the individual barbs at the base coalescing into solid steel just a few inches higher.

Then, Eren speaks]

Hey. I'm finally done molting, so I have a new crop of feathers to sell or trade. Molting sucks. But at least I can make some money off of it. I used two of them to make new swords for myself, and then payment for the blacksmith, and then a few weren't really high enough quality to be used…

uh. Oh! If you don't know, Skarmory feathers make some of the best swords ever. They're light and just flexible enough to not break, and they hold an edge like no one's business. [Eren turns the warp band to himself, and he draws one of his swords. It only vaguely resembles the feathers on the table] You just have to take them to one of the blacksmiths in town and you can get whatever kind of hilt you want on it. The smaller feathers make good knives and stuff.

Anyway, prices are negotiable, but don't expect to get these cheap. They're worth a lot more than you'd think, but I'd figure I'd try and sell them over the warp bands first. I know there's lots of Guards and Rangers and [he makes a small gagging noise] Swords check the warp network a lot. [pause] Even if you don't need a blade, they make good gifts.

Oh yeah? I bet they're a huge minority. Besides, why join the swords if you have no ties? Tch. Join the Guard, or the Rangers, and do something worthwhile.

They are. And I'll bet they have their own reasons for doing so. If there weren't any Swords who would watch over the inside of the city? Guards patrol the borders and Rangers patrol the wilderness outside.

...I guess. Honestly we could just get rid of the Swords and divide up the Guard into border patrol and city patrol. Not sure why we don't do that instead and get rid of the stupid prestige all together.

How long would it be until you start hating part of the Guard? [ That aside ] Probably because in order to do that you'd have to go through the Church and the Council.

I guess it'd be a bummer if they started getting the same attitude. Maybe rotate them around. [Eren groans] ... Annoying.

Hey, I'd be cool with rotating. Being stuck with the same job becomes such a bore. [ he shrugs ] Kind of is. Most of the Swords don't even act like they're part of the Church.

Well, as a Ranger, we do wall duty a lot of the time, too. You can't be out in the wilderness all the time. [a pause] Well, I guess you could maybe.

Most of the Swords I've met just act like pompous jerks.

Who's to say there isn't already a Ranger doing that?

That's because they are pompous jerks. The ones who aren't are the ones who are likely also spending their free time helping out the Rangers or the Guard.

... Oh. I guess that's a good point.

Are you a Sword or something? Is that why you're all defensive?

[ He grins ]

You got me. I know first hand how much of a pain a lot of the Swords can be. But I also know that there are some who are hard working and aren't there because of family ties. So yeah, you can say that's why I'm defensive.

Ugh. And you seem like such a nice guy. How the hell do you put up with those brats in the Swords? I'd have slit their throats in their sleep by now.

Hey, I might be a Swords but doesn't mean it's impossible for me to be nice. I just have a lot of patience [ now really he's just a brat back ] and a lot of practice with dealing with people like them. And ... I remind myself why I'm even in the Swords when I need to.

You've got way more patience than me, then. I can barely stand the rare times I do have to talk to 'em. You seem fine, though. Maybe I can just ask for you the next time I have to liaison with the Swords.

I try not to talk to a lot of them unless I have to. But if you do ever need a liaison with the Swords I'll be willing to take that offer. Sure, the city is important but so is the world outside.

I think... we could actually get a lot more done if we all worked together more. I mean, the Guard and the Rangers do, sort of.

Anyway. I'm Eren. Sorry for ragging on the Swords so much. I'd never been able to meet a good one like you.

Yeah, I believe that too. We have all our bases covered we just need to work together to be more efficient. But gotta start small, I guess.

I'm Robin! And don't worry about it; I doubt you're the only one who rags on them like that. They'll learn their lesson eventually. Until then just let me know if you need anything or have any problems with any other members of the Sword. Maybe I can do something about it.

Oh. Huh... That's kind of interesting. So... does it work over the warp band, or do you have to be face to face?

It doesn't really work over the warp band so I'd have to see you in person. But if I did I would also be able to tell what Pokemon to have in your warp band.

Really? Just by looking? That's pretty cool!

If we ever meet in person I can give you a demonstration. But only if you give me a demonstration of your abilities.
