1st cut - Action; Outside Union

[Anyone outside or on the walls of the city early this morning will notice a stranger approaching the city. Heading from the woods, they're wearing a dark grey hooded cloak that hides their face rather well. They seem to be carrying a sword, as well as a lightweight-looking bag strapped to their shoulder.

They also seem suspicious.

When the person comes close enough, they briefly look up at the walls - if anyone watching is attentive enough, they might be able to make out the features of a girl - and smile, giving a small "hmph" of satisfaction. Finally here.

With that smile, the girl continues on towards the city gates.]

Let's see how much has changed here.

[--he'll let out a short whistle of appreciation. Nice one.

Since he's needed about the same amount of time to get back to his feet and he wasn't betting on you dodging BACK (which would've allowed him to roll forward if he'd thought about it), positions are kind of back to square one. But his body language is relaxed, maybe too relaxed, his center of gravity is low, and he's unconsciously starting to circle you, not being able to notice and keep his predator side under control because he'd never really had a chance to let it out until now. That grin and excited gleam in his eyes are very much dark type rather than fighting.

There you go, Satsuki, you know his typing way better than he knows yours]

[Well, with the way her evolution's going he won't really be able to notice any of her other types than Steel for now.

She stops and straightens up, glaring at you a little - but once you start circling, she doesn't bother to follow your movements.]

Shall I tell you that Sanageyama thought he could sneak behind my back?

[He laughs]

What's the point of sneaking? It's a match, isn't it?

[He'll keep sneaking for someone he wants to kill]

A match is a competition of not just strength. Speed, wits, cunning, everything goes. You climb to the top with everything you've got.

Believe me, some of my "everything" isn't fit for a match.

[Buuuut if you insist, have a little dark type "cunning" in the form of sand kicked in your face, and a kick aimed at your stomach with the momentum]

[Have Steel type cunning in the form of her hand quickly rising to shield her eyes and a counter kick (the way she moves is a little unnatural and might remind you of some sort of clockwork soldier) that's more aimed to divert your attack than strike back, exactly, aiming more for the inner side of your leg in an arch]

You fell for it.

[He'll take that hit and let himself roll down and back to his feet with the momentum. Grinning]

Are you finally starting to play for real?

No. But... it's close enough.

[For actually playing for real she'll need her Bakuzan and Junketsu. Then things would be 1000% real.

And, without pause, without even finishing speaking, she darts forward for another punch - correction, two punches, almost unnaturally fast in execution and succession - and abnormally tough, too (there's that metallic glint on her hands again).

Satsuki used Bullet Punch!]

[He gets the full brunt of the first one, and almost doubles over (his defense isn't that good). But in doing so, he catches your second fist right after it lands, twists and crouches, trying to throw you]

[That works - she didn't expect you to recover this quickly. She loses her balance, carried by your momentum]

[SAY HELLO TO THE GROUND, SATSUKI

He doesn't let go of your arm, and is going to try and pin you there]

[They are good acquaintances with the ground already, no need to introduce her to it more.

And nope you're not having that because her other free hand shoots out to strike at your chin]

[Urgh--again, he sees that coming enough that he weathers the hit, but it fucking hurts.

His instinct says to twist your arm or punch your face for maximum pain, but by now he's aware of how out of hand this particular instinct has gotten, and he's reining it back. You might notice him holding himself back for a fraction of a second before he unleashes a powerful punch into your shoulder, close the the plexus, and tries to press his knee into your stomach]

[Her face contorts into a grimace of sharp pain and she actually screams in pain and anger (and defiance). If she can't use both her hands, then there's only one option left.

The light that appeared when she threw off her cloak strikes again, white and blinding - but this time it isn't just light, and it carries a wave of energy with it.

Satsuki used Mirror Shot!]

[Fuck--the wave of energy alone wouldn't have thrown him off, but the light? Even with his reflex not to let go, his hold weakens a bit, and he's blinded for a couple of seconds. He's going to try and hit you again so he's not giving you a big glaring opening, but his accuracy is shot, you can probably dodge or grab that punch]

[She does - twisting and yanking her hand out of your hold, she grabs your punching arm with it, redirects it so that your fist slams into the ground instead (she might help a bit with the force of the punch, too) and grabs your shoulder to throw you off her and roll back onto her feet.]

[Yep, he's not dumb enough to resist, being thrown off rather than flipped is actually the preferable outcome here.

He'll let you throw him, roll away and back to his feet, and use that time to get his sight back.

He rolls his shoulders to work out the pain and tension as he drops back to fighting position, and a low, constant growl forms in his throat unconsciously]

[Her arm that you punched is kind of just hanging there, not entirely responsive to her - she winces at the pain again, and almost readies to attack again--]

[... But your growl somehow actually makes her snap out of it. Calm down, Satsuki.

She straightens up, her face once again calm (if a little disapproving. Frowning is Satsuki's natural state), and even makes it look like her shoulder and arm is okay. Flexing her fingers a little - she's still not entirely at home with fighting without Bakuzan in her hand.

Her pose is once again confident and possibly a little challenging, like a sort of standby mode.]

[--and that actually makes him notice it. You'll see his eyes widen for a second as the growl stops... and then he takes in a hissing breath.

He's oviously upset about something, and it's not the pain.

Putting his hand up in a "hold on" motion]

... d'you mind if we finish this later?

I'm... not exactly in control right now.

[He hasn't fought seriously since he evolved, and he doesn't want to risk more bad reflex surprises for what's sort of a friendly match]

He'll straighten, and with him standing open you might notice you dealt more damage than he'd let show. He's got a crappy defense, so he's learnt to deal with pain.

He'll walk forward... and then give a side grin and offer his hand to shake]

Congrats on bringing it out, though. That's a first.
