1st cut - Action; Outside Union

[Anyone outside or on the walls of the city early this morning will notice a stranger approaching the city. Heading from the woods, they're wearing a dark grey hooded cloak that hides their face rather well. They seem to be carrying a sword, as well as a lightweight-looking bag strapped to their shoulder.

They also seem suspicious.

When the person comes close enough, they briefly look up at the walls - if anyone watching is attentive enough, they might be able to make out the features of a girl - and smile, giving a small "hmph" of satisfaction. Finally here.

With that smile, the girl continues on towards the city gates.]

Let's see how much has changed here.

[Urgh--again, he sees that coming enough that he weathers the hit, but it fucking hurts.

His instinct says to twist your arm or punch your face for maximum pain, but by now he's aware of how out of hand this particular instinct has gotten, and he's reining it back. You might notice him holding himself back for a fraction of a second before he unleashes a powerful punch into your shoulder, close the the plexus, and tries to press his knee into your stomach]

[Her face contorts into a grimace of sharp pain and she actually screams in pain and anger (and defiance). If she can't use both her hands, then there's only one option left.

The light that appeared when she threw off her cloak strikes again, white and blinding - but this time it isn't just light, and it carries a wave of energy with it.

Satsuki used Mirror Shot!]

[Fuck--the wave of energy alone wouldn't have thrown him off, but the light? Even with his reflex not to let go, his hold weakens a bit, and he's blinded for a couple of seconds. He's going to try and hit you again so he's not giving you a big glaring opening, but his accuracy is shot, you can probably dodge or grab that punch]

[She does - twisting and yanking her hand out of your hold, she grabs your punching arm with it, redirects it so that your fist slams into the ground instead (she might help a bit with the force of the punch, too) and grabs your shoulder to throw you off her and roll back onto her feet.]

[Yep, he's not dumb enough to resist, being thrown off rather than flipped is actually the preferable outcome here.

He'll let you throw him, roll away and back to his feet, and use that time to get his sight back.

He rolls his shoulders to work out the pain and tension as he drops back to fighting position, and a low, constant growl forms in his throat unconsciously]

[Her arm that you punched is kind of just hanging there, not entirely responsive to her - she winces at the pain again, and almost readies to attack again--]

[... But your growl somehow actually makes her snap out of it. Calm down, Satsuki.

She straightens up, her face once again calm (if a little disapproving. Frowning is Satsuki's natural state), and even makes it look like her shoulder and arm is okay. Flexing her fingers a little - she's still not entirely at home with fighting without Bakuzan in her hand.

Her pose is once again confident and possibly a little challenging, like a sort of standby mode.]

[--and that actually makes him notice it. You'll see his eyes widen for a second as the growl stops... and then he takes in a hissing breath.

He's oviously upset about something, and it's not the pain.

Putting his hand up in a "hold on" motion]

... d'you mind if we finish this later?

I'm... not exactly in control right now.

[He hasn't fought seriously since he evolved, and he doesn't want to risk more bad reflex surprises for what's sort of a friendly match]

He'll straighten, and with him standing open you might notice you dealt more damage than he'd let show. He's got a crappy defense, so he's learnt to deal with pain.

He'll walk forward... and then give a side grin and offer his hand to shake]

Congrats on bringing it out, though. That's a first.

[She... doesn't do handshakes, sorry Kaido. But she does give a smirk and relaxes, which is her own way of proposing peace.]

You know my name already. Tadashi Nikaido...

You have to learn to control yourself.

[Smirk]

And you need to get used to fighting barehanded. Let's try this again when we both get better at it, shall we?

[And that's when Floette interrupts your tender moment by flying to Kaido.

Kaidoooo are you hurt? Do you need healing? Are you okay you seemed upset there for a moment--]

Wh--I'm fine Floette, stop nag--

[... he stops mid-sentence and lets her cuddle his hand instead]

... I'm fine. Don't worry.

[Her eyes narrow a little at your advice--while it's a valid point, well... before, there has never been a need to fight or train without her sword. Bakuzan being taken away from her has never even been counted as a possibility.

... And she watches your interactions with Floette with a kind of interest. Not surprised, but not entirely idle either.]

[He looks up at you]

Mind a little healing? There's no point in walking into town looking like this, we'll draw even more attention.

[Plus you were a good opponent...

Floette is like HMPH YOU GUYS ARE DUMB WHY DO YOU EVEN NEED TO /ASK/ but he wouldn't find it fair if she heals him and not you]

[... Technically she does need healing, but. Touching her shoulder to make sure she doesn't have anything dislodged or broken]

Do not waste your energy. I shall be fine.

[Suddenly tiny fairy in your face. Come on, Lady, she can tell, and you still have a lot of things to do with your day, right? There's no point in going on like this, don't be dumb >: ]

[What--]

[Okay no sorry Floette, she's holding you off politely]

Thank you, but I've had worse and recovered. I can look after myself.

[HMPH

She's going to go sit on Kaido's shoulder and pout.

Kaido, on the other hand, is trying not to laugh. Oh man you don't know what you got yourself into. ~~It's only a matter of time~~]

[Okay, now that the show's over, she's going to go pick up her sword (she holds it in her hand a little bit longer than needed, her expression suddenly a little bit softer) and throw the cloak over her shoulders again before strapping on her bag.]

So, Nikaido Tadashi... I trust we shall meet again soon.
