I guess it's customary to ask for tips or something like that. [He's really only ever focused on things that had nothing to do with leaving Union so pokemon training has never been his forte. The cute little blue Floette on the edge of his desk sits patiently, looking on.] Instead of tips.. why don't you tell me your favorite thing about training? ...and exploring? [He asks like he's talking to one person instead of a network at whole. Because that's easier and opens communication more. And also might help him a little better. Maybe.]

Learning new things is always important, regardless of age or status. [As for the rest of that, it was a lot to take in. But at the same time exactly what he asked for.] ...but you said dangerous. Is it often that way?

It depends! Mostly on where you go and how prepared you are. And of course, if you actually go out to explore new areas, it will mostly likely be dangerous, although it is possible to find relatively safe areas on your way.

But if you mean around Union, then no, not really! Places like Verdant Forest or Forest Shrine are very nice for newbie explorers, unless you have allergies I suppose. I would advise staying away from the mountains or the swamp, though - Pokemon that inhabit them are much more aggressive and predatory, and the areas themselves hold some dangers. Cave-ins, getting lost in the underground mazes, drowning in the swamp, that sorta thing. It's the same reason I'd advise against going into the Old City, even though it's really close by. There aren't any swamps there, of course, but it's still unstable enough to be dangerous.

Oh yeah, Scorched Forest is not too dangerous either, but it's not too pleasant to look at or be in... The canyon might be a good idea once you get a bit more experience! There's the island, too, but you need a big Flying type to get there, and it's mostly unexplored so while it's got a nice beach and the jungle is pretty it would probably be best to stay around the shore.

By the way, if you don't mind me asking, why do you want to explore?

That's all very helpful, thank you! I feel like I should explore because people who are important to me go quite often and I'd like to go with them. As well as that, while it seems dangerous sometimes, going somewhere new would probably be good once in a while.

Change of scenery is really good once in a while! It makes me feel... really free sometimes. There's nothing quite like starting a journey and feeling like you've got the whole world before you to explore. Or lying down to sleep outside and watching the stars, if the night is clear and you're somewhere open it's really breathtaking! Or even just resting in a meadow can feel great. You get away from your everyday life and everything that's usually troubling you and when you come back you feel refreshed.

I mean, there's always still little unpleasant moments in everything, like realizing you forgot to pack something, or getting caught in the rain, or catching a cold... But you only remember the good things afterwards.

By the way, if you ever need help with exploration, I could go with you! I'm pretty good with the areas around Union, and I could show you around. And people you want to travel with, too.
