[Observe the interior of Garry's classroom as it's obvious he's twisting his wrist this way and that to get a good look at the Warp Band.] So this is what all the fuss is about...? [Yes, that was a defeated sigh. Good ol' Garry.]

I'm not sure going out is the best idea .. besides, we still have class. So don't think you're going to get out of doing homework! [Right? Right. He's not that scatterbrained.] But maybe a little venture out on the weekends would be okay. During the day. [No thanks for night time.]

I guess it's customary to ask for tips or something like that. [He's really only ever focused on things that had nothing to do with leaving Union so pokemon training has never been his forte. The cute little blue Floette on the edge of his desk sits patiently, looking on.] Instead of tips.. why don't you tell me your favorite thing about training? ...and exploring? [He asks like he's talking to one person instead of a network at whole. Because that's easier and opens communication more. And also might help him a little better. Maybe.]

I've only recently started to leave the city again, but I feel like I've seen a lot of different things already. I can say... the most important thing, for me, is to be able to learn how to interact with different kinds of Pokemon.

And to meet new friends.

It seems like that's the most important thing. [So leaving the safety of the wall to do so might not be as terrible idea as it seems.] But aren't friends and pokemon the same? [A very lightly asked question with a smile.]

Oh, that's what I mean. But interacting well with them doesn't always mean they'll want to come with you, either. I don't think it's fair to expect them to, either.... They have their own lives, too.

I think I'm surprised more often than not with how many pokemon come back with people. [He's observed for a while.] Have you made friends with a lot?

A few. I wish they would all come with me since it seems like there's so much to learn about all of them, but that's selfish, too.

There's so many. If you brought them all back eventually you might have a hard time keeping track.

...How many different types of Pokemon do you think there are? Counting evolutions... I think we know about at least 100 to 200 by now, right?

[His hand taps against his desk as he thinks. But in the end he doesn't produce much of an answer.] Sometimes it seems endless. But there are so many different types of people, too, don't you think?

Um...

[Lucas blinks for a moment.]

There are different personalities within the same species, too. Different Pokemon species aren't quite the same thing, right...?

I just meant that ... [What did he mean.] There seem to be a lot of pokemon and a lot of people. Getting to know everyone would be nice, I guess. But if you get to know too many then how many can you actually call close friends?

...I guess so.

[Lucas thinks for a moment.]

I don't like to think, though, that just because someone has a lot of friends, they can't be close with them. Friendship is something you have to work hard on, too, like anything.

That's true. I guess it's easy for someone like me to think about starting out small. [Because he hasn't done any adventuring and only has the one pokemon and some loose relationships around Union. So.] But there's nothing wrong with wanting lots of friends.

Well... You're probably right, too, though - It's probably too much to get to know every Pokemon species, too.

Aha... I'll see what I can do. It might take a while, though... there's so many places we don't know about, still.

That's true. But that's what exploring is all about, right? Maybe I can find someplace new, too, with great pokemon. [But it's highly unlikely, knowing him. But he can sound brave.]

There's so much to see out there... I bet everyone in the city could find somewhere interesting if we go out far enough. I'm sure the world is a lot bigger than we've ever dreamed of if there are people out there we've never seen.
