{Video}
[A woman sits poised and holding the Warp Band carefully so that the video function is working properly. She would perhaps be familiar to those that frequent the University or the "richer" circles of Union. If not, well, she's about to introduce herself.]

Hello. It has certainly been awhile since I used the Warp Band to broadcast. I was told this would likely be the best way to get the ball rolling on a new job I've picked up at the University.

It would seem that in addition to my research, that they are wishing me to take up a few classes and also meet with students who need help with their assignments. A kind of tutor I suppose...

[Despite her words, she does seem legitimately excited for this task. Maybe she actually enjoys working with younger people.]

If you are interested, my focus is in history, legends, relics, and research, but I am quite knowledgeable in other fields as well. I will be in the cafe just down the way from the University should you like to meet me for tutoring or get to know one of your future part-time instructors.

Just ask for Setsuna, please. I'll be here for a few hours and working on updating some of my notes in the meantime.

[She smiles as she holds up a pen as if to demonstrate that, yes, she is serious about this task. Apparently someone felt like working in a new environment instead of at their apartment for a change.]

{Action}

[At a small cafe near the University sits a woman pouring over several books and stacks of notes. She is reading and also adding to the notes at the same time. Despite her video broadcast, what you didn't see was a tiny Espurr sitting curled in the seat next to her. It is apparently asleep...for the moment and purring quietly.

Feel free to approach her since, despite all the work around her, she will be quite friendly if you talk to her. She probably needs to remember to stop and drink the tea that is quickly getting cold beside her anyway.]

Thank you. [ah. She makes a mental note to do away with the formality of last names; it's less of a mouthful this way, anyway.

Kitty gets a smile.] Oh! And hello to you too. I'm sorry if I've disturbed your nap.

[and she'll take a seat as the waiter scurries over.] You're certainly working hard.

[just gonna order some tea here]

[Espurr tilts her head the other way, lets out a single mew, and falls back over to sleep. Cats.]

That's Hecate. As you can see, she doesn't let much disturb her nap time.

[The cat was a light sleeper, but it was also the kind of sleeper who returns to that state easily. Especially if it deems that nothing interesting is happening.]

I missed a lot during my little investigation and I feel like I need to make up for it I suppose.

[Not to mention this was what had originally led her on that particular investigation in the first place.]

What have you been up to?

If only some of us [re: Haruka] would show that sort of dedication. [it's more good-natured than anything. After all, her own commitment to the whole acting thing is superficial at best - even if it's a given that her performances are still flawless.

Hmm.]

Not much, really. I've been enjoying the amenities of civilization. [heh] Ah, and I picked up a new Budew friend the other day.

It is nice to be back.

[She'd missed this cafe for starters.]

A Budew? I haven't been back out to the forest since we got back. I take it nothing terrible happened.

It's still as green as ever. [her smile gets a bit wry. They did spend a ridiculous amount of time out there.]

No, it was just for the day. [no camping, thank the gods] It was more of a team-building [literally] exercise than anything else.

[For a moment Setsuna doesn't quite pick up on the joke, but it sinks in soon enough and she feels herself smile slightly.]

I suppose that goes without saying.

[At the next comment though she tilts her head.]

With your pokemon or with Haruka? Because I was under the impression that you and Haruka were already extremely well paired.

[damn. She knew she should've resisted that pun.

A chuckle anyway.] She doesn't always play well with others, I'll admit to that. [other others. Definitely not (better not be...) Michiru.

Sip of her tea] No, I meant that we left for the forest with an intent to convince a pokemon or two to become our allies. [hence team-building. /rimshot]

Do you think she'll warm up eventually?

[Setsuna wasn't good at reading people, despite her Psychic typing, so sometimes she had trouble judging others. It was mostly due to her isolation as a child.]

Ah...I see. And with the addition of a Budew I take it that went well.

That will depend on who you're talking about.

[at least practicing on Michiru won't be as terrible as it could have been. She's already got some respect for you, so that's a point in your favor. Sort of.]

She's an adorable one, if a bit shy. A bit of a confidence boost might help with that.

[are we still pretending the Budew isn't there simply to scatter rose petals wherever they go?]

[Setsuna opened her mouth to respond but then though better of it. Michiru was a tricky one, she was picking up on that much fairly quickly.

She takes a sip of her tea and says nothing.]

I suppose that will require more team building, hm?

[She sets her tea down, staring into the liquid for a moment.] I wouldn't mind taking part in those in the future...I'd...like to do more to help.

[that gets a smile and a responding sip of her own tea]

My apologies. I wasn't sure if you wanted to go back out there so soon after we returned. [nooo not you too. Why don't they do the non-literal team-building thing by going shopping or having a nice dinner or something?]

Of course. We'll make sure to ask you next time. And should you ever want company [outside or inside these walls], I hope you'll ask us.

[honestly, she needs ~~another friend~~ to reaffirm that you're as dependable as her first impression of you was. Also we'll throw in that reincarnation/drawn to each other thing for good measure.

Also volunteering Haruka/dragging her into things is Michiru's prerogative.]

Well, perhaps not as soon as you all did. But still, if we are trying to come together as a group of some kind then I would prefer to put forth some effort.

[Though she knows on some level that she'll never quite fit in with the duo. They're...seamless somehow. But she can still help them if they'll let her.

Of course, non-literal would be good to. Setsuna had enjoyed their shopping excursion upon their return. She was still just under the impression that Michiru and Haruka were both all about the "mission."]

Certainly. In fact, I'm going to have to get some finishing pieces for costumes for the theater's next performance. You can come with me if you like.

[there's more than one way to get to know somebody! And in the midst of battle, it's harder to subtly discuss seemingly-innocuous things while circumventing the topic itself.

And hey, if Haruka's going to take the pains to be more vocal about the mission than she is, she's not going to stop her.

That gets a slightly wider smile.] Oh? I would like that. When?

[what IS this next play going to be about? Is she even in it or does she get a break this time?]

I was thinking later this afternoon. I need to review the notes they gave me so I can make sure the costume designs are accurate. They didn't tell me a whole lot about the actual plot unfortunately.

[She scans the piles of paper around her and finds a sketch pad buried under a few books. She pulls it out and offers it to Michiru.]

You can take a peak at the designs if you like.

Don't mind if I do. [she takes it and starts flipping through it with interest.]

From the posters, it looked like your average romance. [she pauses once in a while, casting an appreciative eye at some of the designs.] I wouldn't mind owning some of these.

[Setsuna watches her patiently. She doesn't show her sketches around often. In fact, before working for the theater she'd brushed aside design as a sort of frivolous dream. And yet, here she was, sharing it now with a woman she hardly knew.

Life was funny like that.]

Yes, that was about the extent of what they told me, plus a few notes about the characters as individuals and the pairings they were wanting to promote.

[She points.] You'll notice the complimenting colors for each couple that is supposed to be together by the end.

[She leans back, blinking.] Really? Aren't they a little intricate for every day wear?

That's hardly the point. [so fancy rich parties aren't your cup of tea?] Besides, I'd expect variations of your designs to start popping up after the play.

[between the popularity of the plays and fashion forwards people, predicting that wouldn't be too much of a stretch]

[Well she's been to some, but it was a forced thing so she never found them quite as enjoyable as she probably should have.] You think so? Hmm.

[She'd never given this much serious thought and the comment makes her look back down at the sketches.] Perhaps we could do something about that then.

[a quiet chuckle as she carefully hands the sketchbook back to Setsuna]

Get a head start on production, you mean?

Yes. I'd like to. I think this will be a nice balance for all the textbook work I've been doing.

[She takes the sketchbook back even as she gestures at the other tomes around her. It's not that she doesn't love reading and working with dusty old books, but a girl has to have other hobbies too, right?]

It's certainly a bit more hands on, to say the least.

[and it'll certainly be popular, if you slap on a 'from the original designer' label onto it.

A glance at all the textbooks.] What exactly were you hoping to find?

I've just been reviewing some of the old legends lately.

I don't know if I'm looking for anything in particular at the moment.
