[After visiting the council and seeking permission to stay in Union City, Renko was more than pleased with their answer. They'd even given her one of those Warp Band devices she'd seen most people around the city wear. Needless to say, she looks thrilled once she gets it all figured out and starts recording.]

Hey, this thing isn't as hard to figure out as I thought it would be! That's great!

So it's pretty obvious that I'm not from around here. That aside, my name's Renko Usami, and I've decided to stay here! It's quite a bit different than what I'm used to in most ways.

[She pauses for a moment, debating what to say next, all the while counting the seconds away in her head. She needed to make a good impression on these people. She hoped she was doing a good job.]

I'd really like to learn more about all of you. Your stories, culture, technology, any of it, really. Is there a library I can check out? Other than that, any advice at all would be appreciated, especially with exploring some of the areas outside the city. It didn't seem so bad on the way here, but I was in a group then. I'm guessing going solo would be a very different experience.

Anyway, that's it for now. Thank you for allowing me to stay in your city.

This guy Banzu - sort of an underground technology guy here - he's planning to help set up a small fort and a boat service to it. So hopefully that'll come up.

Perhaps you could give me a more extensive tour another time, if you're willing.

[Renko follows close behind. Honestly, all this walking is starting to get tiring. She won't complain, though.]

[ Melaka has no notice of it. If anything, she feels like she's gone too slow to walk and talk and point a few things out. But she knows she's an awful tour guide. But either way - ]

I'll have to see what I can come up with, then.

[She laughs a bit, but she honestly wouldn't mind being charged a small fee for this. These people need to make a living, too.]

[ Haha... Well then ]

This place has got everything. Or well, almost everything. [ She waves vaguely at it ] You can find most else of what they have elsewhere with different prices and quality, but this one's most people's old reliable.

Great! Sounds like it'll probably be my first stop when I need to shop.

Yeah, s'how I do it too - go there, go elsewhere and compare a price point.

[ And she would point those specific places out too - might yet - but this woman said she was tired and... ]

Anyway, Breeding Center, right? You wanted to see it?

A pretty solid plan, really. Sometimes you want to support the smaller business even though they charge more, though.

[Renko nods.]

Yes, I can still keep going.

[ And she even pats the other woman on the back there. Pat, pat ]

[Renko lets out a brief laugh.]

Do you all always walk around so much?

Honestly, if I weren't showing you around I'd be jumping more. [ But yeah, sort of ]

Oh? So I take it you're very active, then.

Gonna take it that you're not? Active's been how I've always gone.

Not as active as I'd like to be. Most of my time in Gigas was spent indoors.

Well, I guess that tracks if you're getting a big degree like that.

I suppose, but it'd be best if I managed to keep at least somewhat in shape.

[Especially now that she's here instead of there.]

So are you gonna get a training montage?

[ She says this with some amusement as she leaps ahead a wide step on their path ]

Maybe. Either way though, I'll be getting a lot more exercise here than I was back home.

It's actually very surprising that our civilizations haven't met beforehand. Long ago, people used to travel the world.

[ She nods to confirm yes, Mist. But... ] They did? [ ... ] Guess back then, pokemon weren't eating them as much or something. Guess it would figure, what with them having that super technology.
