Tournament Final Round

"Ah."

With the second round of the tournament coming to an end, the three winners had been determined: Feliks, Levi, and Reimu. The crowd turns expectantly towards Team Evolution to where Rory now stands alone, having been informed that his companions had needed to take a step away. The man pauses before he steps forward to speak.

"...Dr. Verdine and Sakina have been... called away. A minor emergency. ...And I fear my remaining compatriots are not much for battling."

He looks embarrassed.

"We will have to forgo the Team Evolution exhibition - but please, it would be an honor for me to face your trainers. It was we who requested this demonstration. I would not have you waste your time."

He gives a slight bow and walks up to the field, rolling his sleeves up to his elbows and retrieving several small, round objects from his pockets.

"I am ready. Come, let us see the strength of Union's Bonds against that of our team's."

((This will be the final tournament post. It will be three separate battles against each of the winners. To properly end this event, we will need at least one thread to progress a significant amount, so please do your best to respond!))

"I... would not be so sure of that."

A light smile as Heracross's wings flick out and the bug lightly begins to hover in the air.

"Shall we begin, then?"

Rory thrusts out his hand and without even calling an attack, his Pokemon has launched towards Whirlipede with its horn lowered.

"Aerial Ace!"

By the time the words have left his mouth, the beetle is already executing the aerial slash with its horn.

Whirlipede barely, barely manages to roll out of the way in time. With a screech against the ground, he corners back and "hops" as best he can up off the ground to land a hard Tackle against the Heracross's wings.

"C'mon, Bug. Knock it out of the sky!"

((While we're not adhering strictly to game mechanics, we do want moves to retain their purpose, so I think it's worth mentioning that Aerial Ace's reason for existence is that it's a weak attack that isn't actually avoidable. No need to rewrite anything, though, just a heads-up.))

Upon seeing that that Whirlipede had rolled out of the way, Heracross performs an abrupt loop in the air, flipping backwards to try and get behind its enemy. The Tackle glances against its belly as it does so and knocks it a bit out of its path such that it ends up to the side of Whirlipede instead.

"Toss it."

Heracross lands with a heavy thump and immediately lowers its horn to try and flip Whirlipede up into the air.
