[Feliks turns on the feed with a cheerful wave and an adjustment of his hair. From inside his coat, where she seems to have made her home, his baby Dratini gives a happy little peep of greeting.]

Hey! So like, I just wanted to let everyone know I'm totally gonna join this tournament thing, and I'm gonna rock it. My Pokémon friends and I are working on some sweet new moves this week, check us out!

[He angles the camera towards the clearing in the woods where he's set up camp. His Houndour, Emilia, is perhaps a little over-enthusiastically savaging a practice dummy, while Jadwiga the Ralts sits in a meditative stance, juggling rocks with her mind, and Krystyna the Vulpix works on her flames. He turns the camera back at himself.]

They're all pretty badass, so like, whoever's up against us should be ready!

[Something tugs at his sleeve, and when he turns to look at her, the camera gets bumped down enough to show Danuta the Mienfoo, looking unamused. Any Kindred Souls out there will hear her scolding Feliks for slacking off talking to his human friends; he doesn't speak Pokémon himself, but he laughs, scratching her ears.]

Okay, looks like I should get back to work, too! Ancient gods, you're so serious...

[He and his team are doing intensive training this week, but he'll get back to his replies when he can, or anyone passing through the woods can feel free to stumble in on them!]

[ Then again, she sort of feels the same way about herself... She's currently sitting atop a high perch with Sneak beside her. Maybe she should be training even more ]

[When he replies to the comment, he's looking a little more tired than when he first posted, a few stray pieces of grass in his hair. He grins, excited.]

Oh, so you noticed! Yeah, it's kinda amazing, but I definitely got even cooler lately.

How's it going with you? Are you gonna be in the tournament?

Planning on it, yeah! Maybe we'll even have a match together, once we get there.

[ she smiles, it's been going pretty well for her all things considered ]

Oh, that sounds pretty awesome! Or we could like, at least watch each ofher's matches, right?

well I was planning to watch all of 'em anyway, but hey...

[ She shifts her warp band though to focus the camera on Sneak the Phantump, her most loyal and dependable partner thus far. Who shyly shifts before she then uses Astonish to turn into a giant scary ghost monster to try to spook the person on the other end ]

[Wait no, that didn't sound very cool, did it?]

Ahaha... I mean, whoa, cool! Like, where'd you meet them? The Masoleum?

Nope, just out in the forest around Union. She had her own little grove and a stump.

Oh, for sure? I didn't know there were Pokémon like that out here!

My either, I'd only ever seen her, and not another line it before or since.

That's really cool, though! When'd you meet her?

A little over a month ago. She was the first Pokemon I bonded with which wasn't an accident.

An accident? That sounds like a story.

[ More like embarrassing. Her cheeks tinge a little, and she makes to sheeply itch one of her cheeks - which results in massive shakey-cam because she used the hand her warp band is on the wrist of. ]

It was on the first Iron Mine expedition. We ran into a rattata looking thing on the back of an Aron, and while my superior officer bonded with the rodent, I ended up talking to the Aron - and he ended up nudging my warp band and bonding with me before I knew what happened just 'cus I gave him some berries.

[Quite a lot has been going on lately. The arrival of the strangers and the unpleasant revelations that followed had of course been more important than anything else, meaning he'd had little time to think about... well, a lot of other things.]

[Not that he was sure he wanted to anyway, with such a huge mess at his hands. And Feliks was usually good at distracting him. So he sets out to look for him.]

[It's not that hard to find someone when you are capable of some limited searching with your mind and, more importantly, teleportation. He doesn't say much at first once he finds them, only stands and watches until someone realizes that he's there.]

[When they're found, Feliks is standing with Emilia and Krystyna, bouncing from heel to heel.]

Okay! Like, whoever gets their fire to go the furthest wins, and gets to eat as many paluszki as they want! Ready, set--

[Unfortunately for their little contest, Emilia and Krystyna get distracted when they notice someone's there. Once she realizes it's just Fai, Emilia bounds up to him, tail wagging.]

What gives, are you like, tired al--oh, hey! What are you doing out here?

[Not that he isn't pleased to see him!]

[Fai laughs when beset with the affectionate Houndour, bending down to scracth behind her ears and mumble admiringly about her being amazing and beautiful. Then he looks up and smiles at Feliks, feeling a knot that had been growing in his stomach since the week before loosen just a little bit.]

I just wanted to come by and say hi. Once I know someone and they're not that far away, it's usually not that hard for me to find them. I hope I'm not interrupting too much?

[Emilia presses her head into his hand, tail still wagging. It's evident that she's accepted Fai as part of Feliks's odd little pack, whether or not the silly humans notice it yet.]

[Feliks just grins, shaking his head.]

Nah, I could use a break or I'm gonna drop dead before the tournament even starts! I didn't know you could do that, though, that's kinda cool.

[It's nice to have a place to go to where he's so readily accepted, especially at a time like this, and Fai leans in to bump his nose against Emilia's with a small giggle before getting up.]

I know, I'm nervous enough about the tournament without being half-dead from exhaustion too. [He shrugs lightly, making a wry little noise.] I'm honestly not very good at all with the subtle stuff, actually. Not like my dad and my uncle, or like Armin. I'm better at purely physical stuff, but I can manage small things like that.

[Feliks flops down into the grass and smiles up at him.]

How come? I think it's gonna be awesome--everyone's gonna watch, and see how cool we are!

Jadwiga could help you out, maybe. She's been pretty good at that kind of stuff lately!

[Well, if Feliks is going to do the flopping thing, then so is he. He sprawls next to the other boy, letting out a quiet sigh as a bit of tension leaves his body. There's a quiet chirp, Blossom's head appearing from under his jacket, and after a moment she slinks out to explore, walking cautiously.]

We~ell, that, or I'll be utterly terrible at helping my friends and make a fool of myself. [He shrugs lightly, not to worried despite not having huge confidence in his abilities.]

And she can probably put her talents to better use. I've had three Gardevoir's attempting to tutor me from an early age, and it's never really worked. Everything I do is so destructive, it's a bit disheartening. [Still smiling, though.]

Subtle's super overrated, anyway? But if you wanna, you know Jadwiga's way less stuck up than your family's Gardevoirs--I mean, yeah, she's always freaking out over me, but I usually kinda deserve it!

And like that's gonna happen. We're gonna go and do our best, and we're bitchin', so it'll be fine! Even if we don't win, that just means whoever won will do better at showing them what Union's got.

...But we're totally gonna!

[That makes him laugh, and he reaches out to give Feliks' cheek a light poke.]

You know, I think I'd give my very best shoes to be that confident. I mean, I like it! I think it's wonderful, I'm just... not very good at thinking like that.

[And normally he would defend the Pokémon in question - especially Freya and Hien, Souhi actually is kind of a bitch - but not today. Because he knows they are not on his side right now. Instead he frows and mangles a couple of leaves between his fingers.]

She's better than my entire family. Well, Yuui not counted, of course.

[He laughs, batting at Fai's hand playfully.]

Well, if I don't believe in me, who's gonna, right? Besides Jadwiga.

Or I guess the point is more... If I believe in myself, who even cares what anyone else thinks?

[He frowns a little at the mention of Fai's family, and reaches out to take his hand.] At least you're not living with them anymore, right?

[He can't help smiling a little bit at that, nodding. He agrees with what Feliks is saying, and he wants to be able to think like that too - he just needs to overcome the enemy in his own head first.]

[Feliks' hand in his feels good; small and warm and soft and safe, achoring him a little bit. He gives it a little squeeze, sighing.]

I'm really glad I don't, right now. They're really angry with me - I don't think I've ever seen them this angry before. At least father and uncle. Mother is just... upset.

[As oblivious as he can be, Feliks isn't going to miss THAT big of a hint that something serious happened in Chateau Flourite. Shh, that's what I'm calling it as of right now. He sits up a little, scanning Fai's face for clues, squeezing his hand a little tighter, because that's what friends do, right? He's held Imogen's hand lots before!]

How come? Did something go down?
