[Action]

[Oh look, it's everyone's favorite earnest, well-meaning, kind-to-all-living-creatures blond kiddo, just chilling in the park with his Pokemon buddies...

...including the absolutely enormous Steelix who's dozing and giving out gravelly snores. In fact, Armin and his little Pokemon friends -- including Nim the Mareep baby and the just-recently-hatched Espurr baby who insists on being held at all moments -- are sitting on top of Gertrude-the-Steelix's head. So anyone trying to approach...best tread lightly.

Armin is clearly in a mood.]

[Not so much that he doesn't turn on his Warp Band and ask, shortly, with one of the most grim expressions he's ever worn:] Is anyone signing up for this Tournament?

[Armin makes those polite sounds one makes when they don't quite understand -- he wants to ask a million clarifying questions, but that's rude -- until he hears the magic word: "babies".]

Oh! [Armin waves cheerily, as does the baby Mareep perched on his shoulder.] Yes, I remember you! I'm sorry I never got any of your names.

Obviously, they're idiots. And it's gonna get them and us screwed, if we're not careful.

[ THE SAVIOR IS LIKE THE COOLEST SHIT, OK. ]

Yeah... [ What are these shoujo sparkles, is this what friends do when they're not Eren...? ] She's kind of a handful since I've never taken care of an electric-type... she really gets a kick out of ruffling my feathers.

[ UH ] No? ... I mean no, didn't name them. One's a fire lizard I don't recognize, and I found it in the wild. Other's a machop.

A fire lizard? Does it breathe fire or is it made of fire? I have some reference books that discuss the various types of flame-related lizards. [Cue sound of pages being flipped.]

[Simba gives a vain "luxxx"]

It wasn't easy getting used to his size at first, but now I've grown to like it a lot!

[Yeah, Armin's not the best when it comes to keeping Pokemon humble. He's all but cooing at Simba now.] He's magnificent!

[he laughs a little as Simba preens. Aw yeah, there's a reason he likes Armin the best]

Careful, he might let it go to his head.

[Though he clearly sounds proud of his companion.]

I read that this isn't even his final form- he's something like a teenager right now! But eventually, he'll get even bigger. He might even get as tall as I am - and that's when he's standing on all fours!

[Because what better thing for a young boy to have than a 5 foot tall lion as a pet.]

[ And then she clicks off the voice before turning on the video function and trying her best to angle the thin's camera to show the black and white image of her tiny apartment and the baby charmander which is resting up against a pillow on her bed ]

She's really fixated on em. [ Way to make him flush tho. ] A-and shut up! Of course I meant literally, she won't stop messing with my ears or my back every time need down to grab her.

[Look, he mentioned the super-dangerous Rangers without shivering too visibly, aren't you proud.]

The texture and color of them probably remind her instinctively of her mother. That just means she trusts you.

[Armin turns on the video in return, holding up an old, dusty-looking book, turned to a page with a sketch of a Charmander.]

Just as I thought! That's one of the most famous Fire Types, you know. It comes up again and again in ancient lore.

[ Guess having fluffy buttwings actually worked in his favor for once. He turns to his little sheep pal. Can she understand human speech yet? Who knows. ]

Hey, Milly. I'm not your mom, ok? Even if I was a pokemon, flying-types don't make Mareeps. So don't get any ideas.

Well I mentioned Simba. But I mostly focused on my own abilities. I didn't want to seem like I was completely reliant on my Pokemon, you know?
