[It was a long hike back, and Rose spent the night in the medical center. Her wounds were such that they wanted to keep an eye on her. While Enlightened healing powers can do a lot, she is still on the mend. She looks it, too; she has a blue button-up shirt on, but the white bandages along her torso for her broken ribs are visible where the sleeves end and near her neckline.]

[Not to mention her left arm, which is in a sling, and black and blue bruises on her face. She looks like she's seen better days. But, she's out, and she has a mind to take a walk. Unfortunately... she doesn't really have the energy for it.]

[So about halfway through the walk, Rose is sitting down on a bench along one of Union's roads, trying to rest. Behind her, a Blaziken is fussing -- Efreet, who evolved on the way home.]

[Video, sometime later]

[Eventually, Rose does get back to the Tycoon estate. She's resting, then, but the room is visible behind her when she flips on the warp band. She smiles down at it; her face is a bit less puffy, now. Enlightened healing is a thing.]

Hey, everybody. So... that got intense, huh?

[ There's an agreeable rumble before the Haxorus inclines his head again at Rose. He is quite well, thank you.

His trainer, looking a little off colour but far less worse for wear compared to Rose, appears eventually, expression one of polite curiousity. Which changes at once when she looks from Eihwaz to Rose, eyes widening. ]

Rose! No wonder he called me over.. Are you all right?

I guess I can go with water. [She'll be happy about it, though; she's smiling at Lenna, and then she tilts her head at the mention of healing. She nods.]

You don't mind? I could use it. Especially the arm.

Of course. It's the least I can do, since I wasn't able to go with you.

[Lenna holds her hand over Rose's arm, concentrating for a moment as a blue ring appears around it, suffusing the injury with healing energies as it moves along the extremity.]

Uh--hey, Sophia.

[There's a ghost of a smile there, but only a ghost. Rose is in a little too much pain to really do the completely bright and cheery thing she does.]

I had a little run-in with our new Gigan friends.

[Rose smiles, as the ring appears around her arm. She feels the healing settle in -- it tingles, actually -- but it also soothes the pain. Not... that she's gonna risk taking off the cast, yet.]

It's okay. It was... it didn't go the way we hoped.

[Lenna smiles too, sensing that she's more at ease now.]

It sounds like a lot happened. I was surprised to hear about Maeve and Celito. And the message from Valeria... it seems like our alliance with Gigas will be short-lived.

[The smile quickly disappears, replaced with an expression of concern.]

[ There's a light pat for Eihwaz's shoulder - he now towers over his human, though it is clear he treats her with much respect and shares a great deal of mutual affection. The smile is then returned, though quick to fall. She is no empath but Sophia doesn't need to be to see how much pain Rose is in.

Lifting her left hand, palm up and fingers curled slightly, a rose rose-coloured light begins to form. ]

Well enough, summer heat always brings heat stroke and heat exhaustion to the medical center's door. Which I should remind you to drink more water as I will remind everyone of Union.

Haruka keeps her focus, however, on the person who's here right now. ] Let's hope we didn't tick him off that much.

[ Another half-joke. Also 100% a lie. Those gods won't be freed till he's defeated. Any trouble Union has with Gigas after that, or Gigas has itself, isn't her concern.

The Divine Defense Force has a very specific Mission. ]

[Around Union, Adell was out on a run, mostly to clear his head, and to get Beowulf some much needed exercise. The Houndour had rapidly grown in strength and size, evolved, and then grew again. He was rather shocked at how it happened, but it also meant it was more voracious for food, and also more listless. Sudden growth meant he had to exercise a lot to stretch out and feel better, so there it was.

Though when he hears the fussing of a nearby Blaziken, he quickly diverts his run to go check it out. Sure enough, a familiar face, even if she'd seen better days. Still... this was an improvement.

He does greet her with a smile, though.]

Hey Rose. Efreet's not giving you too much guff, is he?

[Said with good humor, and he gave the Blaziken a nod, suggesting he knew very well that all he was doing was looking out for his partner.]

Yeah...

[It occurs to Maka that she should apologize for not being a Psychic type that can see the future. Maybe it would have helped.

But saying it would sound sarcastic and like she's trying to insult Rose, so she just shrugs.]

Well, we did what we could. And even if we weren't able to defeat him, we've got a better idea of what's going on now anyway.

I hope not. Either way, we're gonna need to break the damn thing.

[She expects to need to fight the Emperor. But it's more than that; it's not a mission like the DDF's. It's a different one, and maybe simpler. She thinks that old man needs to die.]

[She means to see it done.]

Sure, yeah. We're all in it together, right? At least... I don't think he's giving a choice not to be.

Even if I'm a little surprised an actor's interested.

Ah... Yeah. You saw it all, then.

[Harsh, but true, Rose thinks.] ...I think making it out counts as winning, in this case.

[Rose eyes the hand, curiously but not warily. The medical center already gave her some healing. She knows the scoop here. She nods, finally.]

Sure. You don't mind? I don't wanna put you out.

[She hesitates, then adds:] ...You know the fight I'm talking about? I guess everyone does by now.

Yeah. We have information, and that's some of the best stuff we could ask for. We didn't know a thing about their emperor before!

[They barely knew Gigas had one.]

But... the problem feels a lot more dangerous, too, now.

I'm pretty sure the alliance is over... and it maybe was never real. Their emperor...

[Rose stares off. She looks distant, as she does -- she spaces out, staring at the wall. The healing is comforting, but in her head, she's still more than a little tormented by everything.]

...He was so strong. Like a god. Maybe stronger. I don't know if we could have had peace, when a guy like that was running the show.

More water, huh? I'll have to do that. I'm from Caldera, but... probably shouldn't get cocky while I'm on the mend.

[Rose turns to look at Adell, blinking at him once. Her Blaziken does, too -- but Efreet recognizes Adell, despite the crossed arms and the imposing look. He nods, once, at both Adell and Beowulf. Rose looks up, too.]

[She smiles, but it's tired -- and short-lived.]

Naw, not too much. It's a little pestering, but... I can use the help, really. How're you holding up, Adell?

[His own smile fades a bit, into something much more subdued.]

Just fine. Can't complain. I'm more worried about you. I'm sure you've gotten the ration of "take it easy and rest" from everyone, so I'll spare you that.

[You can only hear that so many times before going mad, after all.]

That you're up and around is a good sign. You're looking a bit better, if nothing else.

[ Haruka shrugs. She wouldn't be too much of an actor if she let that unsettle her, but she will take as a cue to ease up. ] Could get bad for business.

[ Sophia would not cast the spell without Rose's consent, which is why she waits until the younger woman agrees. The spell is soothing and cool when cast, a Heal Pulse by any other name, and she does not reply right away while she concentrates on helping ease away some of the aches. ]

..It's the least I can do. You're not putting me out at all.

I was in the command center. [so, yes, she knows the fight in question]

I suppose so! At least we won in the end.

And that I hope things will go back to normal pretty soon too.
