[Sorey is incredibly excited to get to explore all of Union and its ruins, but he's been holding off on the ruins until Mikleo got back from Gigas so they could go exploring together.

And he's back, so that means Sorey is trying to find where the blazes he's supposed to get a lantern. His Eevee is just sitting at his feet, yawning while Sorey looks around the Union shopping district a bit confused]

There's got to be a supply shop around here somewhere...or even a bookstore.

Closed to Mikleo

[Mikleo is met by Sorey's Eevee whenever he gets back to where they're staying since Sorey's gone to get dinner. Mab nearly trips him as he runs over and rubs himself all over Mikleo's ankles. Looks like he was worried]

[Mikleo looks up at the sound of Sorey's voice. Good timing, indeed. He heads over to greet him, a small smile on his face.]

Just got back. I took a little detour on the way to Gigas, so now we have a Ducklett. His name's Kay, and he's wandering around right now.

[Since that's also important to mention. Still...he gives Sorey an apologetic look.]

Seems like I worried you both, though. Sorry about that.

[Mabinogio wanders off to go meet this Ducklett while Sorey just bumps Mikleo's shoulder]

It's fine. I was going to be worried--you were in Gigas and I couldn't go with you. You didn't get hurt, right?

[Mikleo crosses his arms, frowning.]

Well, no, I didn't get hurt. Although, we may have only narrowly avoided that.

[He glances over where Sorey put the food down.]

Maybe dinner first before I fill you in on what I was up to? You'll probably get too invested and forget all about eating.

Yeah, sounds good. I picked up a couple of things, some Calderan curry and some sandwiches from a delicatessen that were going to be my lunch for tomorrow but since you're home, if the curry's too spicy for you there's that.

[Since he's part Ice type]

Oh! And cookies.

[Ugh, Sorey's too considerate.]

I wouldn't mind trying the curry, but I'd like to avoid depriving you of your lunch.

[Mikleo looks amused when he adds that he got cookies, too.]

Sounds like a well-rounded meal. Hopefully, the cookies are decent.

If you'd rather have the sandwiches, I can just go get something else tomorrow, or we can cook something.

[Sorey goes to get the boxes with a smile]

Come on, I'm starving.

I'm perfectly capable of cooking something, so I wouldn't worry about it.

[Mikleo smirks and follows after him.]

I think 'starving' is your perpetual state of being, Sorey.

Hey, I just have a normal appetite, unlike you.

[He pokes Mikleo's ribs]

[Squirms out of the way. Ugh, why does he have to be ticklish?]

Normal for a Snorlax, maybe.

And people! Just because you can survive off water and magic...

Not entirely.

[Goodness. Mikleo goes to rummage through their cabinets to get Morgan and Kay some food, since they haven't been fed dinner yet.]

You fed Mab already?

No, I just got home from errands. He was waiting for you.

[Mab bats at Sorey's leg. Don't tell him that!!

Sorey just laughs as he takes the boxes to the kitchen. This is a nice little place they found in Union]

Found out how to get to the ruins!

[Mikleo almost laughs at that, but refrains from doing so. He just gets out the food and bowls, doling them out evenly for the three Pokemon.

He glances over at that exclamation, looking interested.]

Oh, yeah? Then don't keep me in suspense.

It's not too far from where we came into the city, actually. I was going to go out tomorrow to buy lanterns and supplies. We can head down next week.

Sounds like you've been on top of things while I was gone. I'm impressed.

[He's teasing. He knows how Sorey is.]

If it doesn't clash with Glacier's festival, I'm more than okay with that.

[The ruins aren't going anywhere, but the thawing festival only comes once a year. It'd be a shame to miss it.

Mikleo sets the bowls down, and goes to get Morgan and Kay.]

--oh, right, that's coming up. Well, we can go down into the ruins beforehand, right?

[Mab goes to town on his food because Mikleo's back yaaaay]

I think so. We should have enough time before then to explore the ruins at least partially. After the festival, we can pick up where we left off.

[He brings in Morgan and Kay so that they can have their food. Mikleo's Eevee is more dainty with her food in comparison to Mab, but Kay's somewhere in the middle of being a messy and clean eater.]

Was the curry pre-made or will we need to heat it up?

Pre-made, thankfully.

[He pulls out two servings of curry with a grin]

Here we go. So, what happened in Gigas?

[Praise. Mikleo's going to take an experimental bite of the curry after getting utensils for the both of them. Luckily, its heat is mild enough for the Magi to tolerate it.

But this is all an excuse to organize his thoughts before answering that question.]

Quite a bit, honestly. The Seekers wanted some volunteers to break into key parts of a major facility in the city. They wanted confirmation of the rumors saying that Gigas was protected by gods and also to steal a couple of stones in their possession. I was part of the first group.

[He frowns down at his plate, playing with his food for a moment.]

Turns out those rumors are true. They chained up four, somehow. We were able to get some information from the leader of those four. He said humans gave him the name 'Regigigas.' I wasn't able to stay long enough and neither were we able to ask more questions. The only other thing I got before I fled was that the Emperor of Gigas is an extremely long-lived man.

[Sorey was in the middle of a bit when Mikleo mentions Regigigas and he ends up choking from the shock.]

Wait--[cough hack]--what?

[Mikleo looks about ready to leap over to him, but the fact that Sorey's talking has him relax. Only slightly, though. He pushes over his friend's glass of water closer to him.]

Drink that and try your question again.

[He does with a small smile of thanks]

They have a god captive?!

[He crosses his arms.]

Not just one god, either. Regigigas and his three servants are essentially their captives, and I wouldn't put it passed their Emperor to make sure that one break-in was all we'd get. Unfortunately, I don't know where or who the other three are. It's possible that one of the other teams do, though.

[Mikleo shakes his head, looking slightly disturbed.]

So...things are a lot worse than we thought.

Yeah.

[Sorey feels sick]

There's gotta be some way to help them, but I don't think even Gramps would have an idea.

[Mikleo can empathize.]

It's even more complicated when the general populace doesn't know about this. At least, that's the assumption. The last thing we want is for them to be caught up in potential retaliation against their captors.

[He sighs softly. It's a mess.]

For now, we wait and see what Union decides. In the meantime, we can see if there's anything in the ruins around here that can give us a clue.
