Are there any other warp band users who are bonded with a Porygon?

I could use some advice, and the information I've accessed on the species doesn't really answer any of my questions.

I've had one with me for just over a month or so now, and I'd thought we were getting along quite well. But recently [since their trip to Refuge] it's been quite absorbed with the warp band network, and as of this week no longer responds to the name we'd agreed on when we first met..

[her tone is calm, but there's a hint of concern there that might be audible if you've gotten to know Sophia at all]

Is that typical behaviour? Or should I be worried about it? It doesn't seem unhappy..and it's not outright ignoring me otherwise.

Perhaps it's gathering information from the network? I suppose Pokemon have their own names, too. Perhaps it's trying to communicate such a thing to you.

It does take great pleasure in gathering data, though what it does with it, I could not say.

..Hmm. Do you think then, perhaps, whatever data it has gathered may have reminded it of its own name?

It's just for having, possibly. Something comfortable. A nesting instinct, perhaps.

That could certainly be true. Perhaps its increased levels of activity are because it wants to remember something important to it. One can only hope it will share that with you.

I hope so. I do not possess the ability to speak directly with a pokémon, but I do what I can.

Well, these Pokemon presumably like data, do they not? It would make sense if they collected it for comfort, or perhaps to prepare for creating more of their own kind - if indeed that's possible by the means we are familiar with.

They like to have familiar things, I'm sure.

I'm sure your Pokemon appreciate your efforts. From what I've seen of you and your friends, they seem quite happy to be at your side. [ They're just glimpses, but still. He reads body language well. ]

I cannot say that, ah, closer workings of the breeding center or general husbandry for pokémon are exactly my forté, but that certainly isn't outside the room of possibility. But familiar things.. Next time we go to the Old City, I'll have to see if it gravitates towards certain buildings or objects.

Oh. Well. I hope so. I'm happy to have them with me.

Well, the inner workings of such things aren't for everyone. [ He seems a bit amused. ] Perhaps you could show it such artifacts to aid in understanding. Is there a place here where excavated things from the Old City are displayed?

Not really, not to the public at least. A great many finds over the years have already been repurposed for use in maintaining the city. But I have been taking him with me whenever I go there.

I have no familiarity with them, personally... but, of course, a man of my years hears things.

They're supposed to be adaptable and interested in technology. It may want to simply experiment.

Anything you might be able to share would be most welcome, sir. Even second hand experience is experience of a sort that might prove useful.

It is certainly fascinated by it, perhaps I should look into a second band for it's own use..

You may want to. You may also want to consider other devices that could intrigue it. Perhaps an engineer would be helpful...?

One certainly would. Or, perhaps, I should approach one of the Delvers. Since I met my Porygon friend in the Old City, they might have a suggestion of what to look for from there.

Ah, yes! I'm a student of history, myself. The Delvers always provide a rich conversation.

Oh? Did you have any particular history you studied most closely, sir?

Hm, well... I try to be well-read on all of Union's history.

But the history of the Fall -- and the events of the era that caused it -- are of special interest to me. Much mystery to be found, and it deeply shaped our own era.

It's good to know that not all details have been lost, even if the oldest records are few and far between. [distracted? a little. It's not every day a scholar will share details, after all. And her porygon is listening in, too!] Might I ask what you think the biggest impact on Union's development has been since the Fall?

That would have to be the Savior's legacy. Not, per se, her actions. They directly impacted our fortunes.

But, the example of the Savior provided something our entire society has followed for five hundred years. It is... truly far-reaching.

It certainly is that. To think that one person could change the course of things to such a degree.. Union's desire to honour her wish for peace and to keep their word to the Gods for so long is truly amazing.

It is. It speaks to the power of an idea that people follow it -- and continue to, in the face of such adversity.

It's true. [And their struggles certainly have been great indeed] I'm afraid I don't know a great deal of what life was like here before that time. Was there much adversity here, over the many years before Union reopened its gates?

Not nearly so much. Some might think it a reason to close our gates, and hope to return to a time of peace...

But I think that's shortsighted.

...I agree. It might seem a nice idea, an attempt to feel safe again. But..

Well. With what we've learned from the past, the best way to go is forward, don't you think?

Yes. We must keep moving forward. We can't sacrifice the gains we've made, or the many allies that Union has won.

It would be the wrong choice.

I agree. And given your conviction, sir, I've no doubt that others will come to see things as you do.

Maybe they're interested in the technology? The warp band is rather fascinating if I say so myself!

So maybe they just want to see how it works?

It certainly is. Even though I had only had one a short time before the signal tower was damaged, I found it a very useful device. It's hard to imagine life without it..

Would that really affect its choice of name, though?

I don't think so! Although, perhaps it feels like he wants a new change?

A new name for a new phase in life?

..Maybe. [a smile is audible] So long as he doesn't want me to pick a new name every month.

My porygon..well, as mentioned, it's between names at the moment. [but they'll find something it likes! ..she hopes.]

Or what does it wish to be called now? [Hopefully she can figure something out!]

Kenaz. Since it made it clear it no longer wished to respond to that name, I've addressed it as 'Porygon', but that seems very impersonal.

Someone else suggested that its trawling of the network might be to find its original name, if it had one. I bonded with it in the Old City, so perhaps it was lurking there, looking for clues.

Perhaps, that might why it's interested in the network and so intensely too! But should it need any help, I don't mind helping! Although, I must admit, it might take some time.

Huh. From what I know about the Porygon species they might be interest in learning a variety of new information so there's that. Not sure about the name thing though... maybe it wants a new name?

It does appear to be that way. Perhaps it wants to see if it can find a name it likes on the network instead..

We recently went to Refuge on behalf of the Seekers to investigate some ruins. I suspect that may have played a part in it.

That could be, from what my friend's family who taught me about be ing a caretaker said about Porygon they are curious by nature. They want to learn.
