5th Patrol: Winter's Chill

[Gordon hasn't been out and about quite as much this past month, and, when he has been spotted around town, it's typically with his family. There's no red haired youths in evidence today, though, unless one counts a Growlithe.]

[The elderly man wears his old jacket, the one without the protective enchantments and no special features beyond just being rather good at keeping one warm. His breath clouds as he walks his pokemon, the Growlithe staying close at Gordon's side, while a silver Eevee bounds ahead, inspecting this and that, bothering any pokémon they happen to come across.]

Hey, watcha doin? Wanna wrestle? I'm real good at wrestling! I'll show you! Come on!

Buddy, don't bother people.

[Minako's Sylveon was curious about this oddly colored Eevee. His ears perked forward a little as he stared at him for a moment. He'd never seen a silver one before.]

Syl? [Why?]

[commissionergrump]

[The Eevee momentarily looks confused, head tilting to one side.]

Because it's fun!

[He crouches down, ready to pounce at the word go.]

[Well... okay. Eros crouched down in return. He was game to give it a try.]

[commissionergrump]

[The Eevee pounces! It doesn't go full force, not wanting to actually hurt it's playmate, but it's intent on actually trying and getting a good workout out of it, if nothing else.]

[Sylveon rolled, letting Eevee land on top, but then used his back legs to push it further and use the momentum to keep him going right off.

By now, Minako had arrived as well.]

Mr Gordon? Is everything okay?

[commissionergrump]

[Buddy goes sailing, but lands, taking the long way around this time, trying to flank the evolved Pokemon. When Minako arrives, Gordon's voice is full of reassurance.]

They're just playing. Buddy's the adventurous sort. How have you been, Ms. Aino?

Okay. There are a lot of new locations around. Have you been to any, yet?

[She smiled a bit, glad this was just some playful sparring after all.

Eros rolled back to his own feet and bounced a little, like a fighter staying mobile and light. He circled, keeping an eye on this oddly colored Eevee.]

[Meanwhile, there happened to be Fuuka wandering out and about trying to figure out what to get for her friends for the holiday season. Now that she moved in with Yukiko, she needed to think of something really special that will surprise her! But what though?

However, as she continued to wander on by…?]

Um...excuse me? Why do you want to do that? [Said her Espurr]

Because it's fun!

[The Eevee crouches down, ready to pounce at the slightest sign off go ahead.]

Ah. Ms. Yamagishi. How have you been?

[windyflower]

[Her Espurr simply just gave the Eevee a look before taking a few steps back.

Whatever he was planning, she didn't want any part of it!]

Ah, it's been awhile hasn't it? I'm doing well, how about you?

[commissionergrump]

[The Eevee's ears flatten, a bucket of cold water dumped on its adventurous attitude. It pulls back a bit, and only a few moments pass before it finds something to investigate. Soon, it's attempting to uproot a street lamp to show Gordon. It's not going particularly well.]

[Gordon watches the Eevee for a moment, but, when it seems the Eevee won't successfully damage public property, he turns back to Fuuka.]

I'm well. I've had this month off. Spending more time with family. Wife wanted me out of the house for a bit.

[He chuckles.]

Probably spent more time at home this month than I have the last 2 years.

[And here, the Espurr simply just looked back at the Eevee considering if something was wrong. It's not everyday you get challenged to a fight for no real reason! So either he might be in a bad mood or there's something else going on!

With that, she walked close to the Pokemon. But it's just that. Slowly walked closer.]

But that's a good thing though! There's nothing wrong with spending some time outside and especially getting some fresh air! Being inside isn't good for you anyway!

[...Said the person who spends most of her time working inside. But here, she'll shift her weight just a bit here and there]

[Gordon notices that slightly guilty shift, raising an eyebrow. Buddy, for his part, continues to try and fetch the firmly affixed structure. He glances over as the Espurr approaches. Look at this thing! Isn't it neat? I wanna show Jim, come on, help me lift it!]

(Not that the Espurr is going to be any more able to physically lift it than the Eevee.)

It is a good thing. I can't really make up for lost time, but... I can be there now.

[windyflower]

Then you should enjoy it while you can. I know that I would and especially now with how much free time I have.

[And you know. Moving out of her parent's house and all?

But as the Espurr continued to look back at the Eevee and back at Gordon? She wasn't too sure what was going on but here? She'll just give them a curious look as to what they were planning on doing. And in return, Fuuka simply does the same thing]

He seems enthusiastic.

[commissionergrump]

[Gordon nods, watching as, without some other partner, Buddy pounces at Growlithe, the pair rolling around and wrestling for a bit, neither really attempting to hurt the other, but Buddy seeming to actually be testing his strength, while the Growlithe seems more interested in stopping the fight without hurting the strange colored pokemon.]

Been like that since I met him. At least I got him to stop stealing things from people's homes. He tried to fetch an Ursaring, once.

I can't imagine that having gone well.

[Gordon glances towards Buddy, making sure he's staying out of trouble.]

About as well as can be expected.

[The adventurous little Shiny that could breaks off the fight, and, seeing an unusual sign post, runs off to attempt to fetch it to show Gordon. It's pretty firmly rooted, though, and the Eevee isn't going to uproot it without help.]

He will learn in time, I am sure.

[commissionergrump]

[Gordon watches the Eevee attempt to retrieve the sign post for a few minutes, looking back to the young man.]

Hopefully the easy way, rather than the hard way. How have things been on your end? Look like you've healed well from the last time we spoke.

Passable. I'm still trying to grow accustomed to Union.

[heartandsoul]

Oh, it's not a bother.

[Says the tiny blonde teen as her shiny Darumaka peeks around her legs at the Eevee.]

Sally's not much of a wrestler, though.

[You'll never knock me over though, I'll get right back up! she insists with a proud huff. Maka adds in a quiet voice to the Pokemon "don't be rude."]

[commissionergrump]

[Gordon glances at the pink little thing, curious about the unusual pokémon. The Eevee, meanwhile, has never seen a Darumaka, let alone a shiny one, and, at the little huff of challenge, bounds to the side, new experience and adventure sense tingling.]

Sounds fun!

[The excited Eevee keeps glancing back and forth between Darumaka and Gordon, cries of Look, look. Gordon watches for a moment, then looks at the fire-type. He speaks somewhat hesitantly, only able to guess at what the Eevee is actually saying.]

Yep. Very unusual.

[The elderly man turns to Maka.]

He's... inquisitive. It's a good trait, he's... just a bit excitable.

[heartandsoul]

[As if this isn't absurd enough, Sally balls up into an...egg...shape and rolls around, challenging the Eevee to chase her. The weeble wobbles but--like she said--she won't fall down.]

...Yeah, Sally used to be like that, too. She'd run off without me realizing it and bug people around the city. [Now apparently it's used to distract similarly rambunctious 'mons.] Sorry for the trouble, sir.

[commissionergrump]

[Buddy seems thrilled, and pounces around, trying to knock the Weeble over. He's not trying to hurt the other pokémon, more interested in play fighting than the real thing, but still, it burns off some energy.]

I'm sure I'd remember if it'd caused any actual trouble.
