Are We There Yet....

Summary: Yosuke gathers up some of his friends to go on an expedition to find exactly where the city of Gigas is and takes the wrong way. Also to open up the area for bonding.

[It seemed like forever since they'd left Union, heading west initially to search for a city that held a danger that was brought to light several months ago by a legendary pokemon. Northwest was their aim, missing the desert as they traveled. It seemed like they'd been walking for forever. For the duration of the trip, Yosuke had been confident, but now that they'd gotten this far, even his will started to waver whether or not they were actually going to find what they were looking for.]

How far is this place...

[What else is there to do but start to complain about it.]

[Pulling his woolen coat tighter around him, Waver fumbled with the map for the umpteenth time on that trip to get a check on their bearings. With so much currently unknown, he felt almost like they were having to start over from scratch...

And he was no cartographer.

Scowling at the carefully inked pages before once again scanning for anything remotely familiar in their surroundings. Finding nothing, he heaved a weary sigh and folded the map up again.]

Who knows? [he asked, with obvious frustration.] Does anyone here have a flyer? We need to get a better look at this place.

[Trotting along beside the group on Lillith's back, Yukiko rubs the Rapidash's head and looks first from Yosuke to Waver. Ignoring Hanamura's complaints had come as second nature to her, and Waver seemed just as Krabby. It was an unfortunate, slightly awkward situation at best.

At least Fuuka was here.]

I do, and so does Fuuka. [A pause as she looks back at her girlfriend.] Well, I assume you brought Aerodactyl, didn't you dear? I at least have Bereth.

Mm. It's hard to say. [She's explored enough to know it's hard. They could get lost. Mami tugs her weather-worn cloak around her, then adjusts her hat with a gloved hand. She glances sideways, at Waver, then at Yukiko.]

[She nods.] I can do that. One moment.

[She looks up at her Drifblim, floating overhead. It lifts up -- and Mami shoots herself up with a wind gust, courtesy of being a Child of the Howling Gale, soaring up to have a long look.]

[Ahri was looking around happily. Lost or not, this was another chance at exploring another region that she had never seen before... Be it their target location or not!]

I heard that adventure is right around the corner~ Maybe this isn't quite the one we sought, but it's the one we'll get? [She giggled as her Duskull and Umbreon chimed along in agreement, looking around curiously and taking in the sights.]

I'm sure we'll figure something out, but in the meantime why not enjoy it~ I am~!

I agree, at least it's still an adventure right? Even if we can't find it, at least we'll be able to have some fun?

[Or at least she hoped so. After all, she was with Yukiko again and that was the most important part! As she looked over to her Aerodactyl, she simply gave a smile to him.]

But yes, I did. It seemed like too important of a mission to not include him!

[He watches Mami as she flies up into the sky with her Drifblim. The corners of his mouth tug downward, before sighing. Why didn't he think of that...]

Yeah, but the whole point was to get a better idea of where the enemy is...

[The complaints won't stop. Ever.]

[As the group travels, a large gust of frosty wind sweeps overhead with sudden intensity and it almost seems as if a shadow passes over them, but when they look up, whatever it is is already gone.]

[Yukiko shivers in the cold wind, trotting Lillith closer to Fuuka to keep the sickly girl warmer. She's so considerate.]

You guys saw that right? I...think we might want to head towards the trees, so we don't get ambushed from above.

[Offering a hand, she'll even pull Fuuka up onto the horse if she wants.]

[Shivering in his unease, Waver wrapped his arms around himself and glanced upward at Yukiko's words.]

Seconding that motion. Getting attacked while we're lost sounds very bad right now.

[Mami saw it too. She frowns as she lands, feet touching down, and she looks around at them all -- then she looks forward, and nods.]

Agreed. Let's hurry.

[And she's off, for the trees!]

[Ahri on the other hand became intrigued, immediately stopping and looking to the skies.]

Hmmm...~

[But alas, she didn't spot what might have caused the rush and sighed. Kid and Karthy remained vigilant but Ahri simply shrugged and followed the group.]

Would have been nice to see whatever caused it, but I suppose safety first right~?

W-What the hell??!! That was way too cold, maybe planning a trip this late was a bad idea...!

[He wraps his arms around him because that was cold as hell. He scurries to catch up to the girls and Waver, shivering from the gust.]

Why can't anything go right for a change on this stupid trip...

[The weather is turning really fast now, a viscous hailstorm starts as the team heads for cover. A nearby copse of trees do provide cover, but it looks like the storm might be settling in for the long haul.]

[Well hopefully Fuuka grabbed on! Because Yukiko's riding the two of them towards the copse.]

Over there, quickly! We can recoop there.

[And she attempts to lighten up the storm with a Sunny Day, exerting her will over it!]

[With the huge gust of wind, Fuuka definitely held on for dear life! While she made sure to cover her Espurr from the hailstorm, she looked back at Yukiko.]

What about you, Yukiko? Are you going to be okay?

[Without second thought, Waver threw up a Reflect to bolster the effects of Yukiko's Sunny Day. It might not amount to much, but it was something.]

We'll figure out damage once we get to cover. Let's go!

[Mami and her Pokemon bolt, til they get under the trees. She slumps, then, and sighs; the girl glances over her shoulder, back at the others.]

It looks like this gale may last awhile, too... no helping the weather, I suppose.

[Ahri follows suit after the others, growing slightly concerned over the growing strength of the weather but changes like those she generally expects when out in the open traveling. Once she makes it, she sits down under a large tree and cozies up with her Pokemon, wrapping her tails around them.]

What's the plan? If it keeps up, these trees won't provide proper safety...

You know, a cave or something would be really nice right about now. This is not what I imagined this trip to be like!

[He takes a look around, trying to see if there was any proper shelter against what might become a hailstorm. He also curses the fact that they might of gone a little farther north than he would of liked.]

Keep your eyes peeled for anything that'll keep us from getting a concussion from a hailstorm or something.

[Yukiko's Sunny Day helps lessen the hail, but it's still coming down. Piercing the relative silence quite suddenly is a loud howl as large, dark shapes appear, circling the group with baleful red eyes]

I'll be fine.

[Yukiko's a little surprised by her powers failing but that just means that there's likely more than one thing out there screwing with the weather. And that screen and those eyes mean that a fight? Is probably happening.

Yukiko grimaces as they whip into the copse of trees and she reins in Lilith, sliding from the Rapidash's back and summoning Sengen the Venusaur.]

Sengen, see if you can't help me brighten up the day a little.

[The Pokemon complies, starting to will another Sunny Day up to help keep the hail from shredding the trees.]

The rest of you guys...maybe see if you can figure out what's coming to attack us. Fuuka, can you see whatever those eyes are attach to with your power?

I suggest we prepare, in case they rush us.

[Because Mami don't like the look of those red eyes. She nods at Fuuka -- she'll trust her to determine what it is -- while she makes a trio of rifles appear in front of her. Her Florges, in the meantime, uses Lucky Chant on them.]

Crap!

[He didn't like the looks of this. Hand flying down to his Warp Band, an Empoleon appears in front of him, looking huffy. Why'd you bring him here? What's the meaning of this?]

Don't hand me that! We've got trouble here! Besides, you owe me one. Use a growl to see if you can get them to back off.

[Yosuke preps himself with a Double Team as his pokémon uses a Growl in the direction of the red eyes to see if they'll be intimidated by that.]

[Ahri readied herself, standing at attention and summoning three blure fire orbs that began to orbit around her.]

Kid, lend a Helping Hand. Karthy, get ready to retaliate if anything comes looking for trouble.

[She smirks, looking to the skies.] I knew coming along would be exciting~!

Got it, just give me a moment! Hopefully, I'll able to figure it out.

[Whatever was going on, Fuuka needed concentrate on the source. As he placed her hands on her ears, she had to focus without letting the sound of the hailstorm bother her.

In the meantime, her Espurr used Confusion in hopes that it might confuse whatever (or whomever) those red eyes might belong to]

Waver has Seismitoad, Foongus, Vulpix, Amaura, and Blitzle

Yukiko has Snorlax, Blissey, Noivern, Venusaur, and Rapidash

Mami has Florges, Audino, Rapidash, Drifblim, Beheeyem, and Sawk

Ahri has Umbreon and Duskull

Fuuka has Espurr and Aerodacytl

Yosuke has Bibarel, Scyther, Noviern, Kabutops and Empoleon
