Who: Kili, his team, and anyone else who wants to stop them!
What: Kili's birthday just happened and he's kind of bummed.
Where: Union. The whole city.
When: October 26th

Well, he did it. He turned eighteen.

He turned eighteen with only his brother around. And no idea of what's coming next. And feeling, frankly, pretty damn useless. Talking to Fili helped, but really, he's been worrying over this for the last year. One talk won't solve it.

Apparently his partners think they can help, however. They've dragged him out of the forge and around the city to do Stuff--eat, watch people fighting, see a play if one's showing, anything they think will make him feel better.

And occasionally they drag him into shops Raz wants to go to so she can harass him into buying her something, but only occasionally.

It's really hard to miss the teenager surrounded by his team with a Weepinbell clinging to him when the Drifblim isn't, and a Carbink bouncing off Kili's head at random intervals.

"Savior's grace, you're killing me."

He brings a bright flame to his hand, warming the air around the both of them. "Is that better, though?"

Kili sighs in happiness and scoots just a tiny bit closer to the heat. "Thanks. That's wonderful."

"It comes in handy! My Pokemon kinda all want to use me as a heater all winter, though."

"Magnith won't stay still long enough for me to use him, sadly." His Darumaka. "He likes to roll around too much."

"Napping with Pokemon like that is the worst. This one time, my Snorlax friend rolled over onto me?"

It was actually something of an ordeal.

Kili and his Pokémon all wince.

"Was he at least soft?"

"Yeah, but it was kinda hard to breathe?"

"Well, at least there weren't any broken bones?" There's always a bright side.

And Feliks is always willing to take that bright side and go with it.

"That's true! I was fine once I got out, so no big deal."

Kili thinks they've gotten off the topic of his clothing, which is good. Feliks is probably the sort to drag him off shopping and since he isn't a Pokémon that might be awkward.

(Kili is a sucker for cute critters.)

"Why'd he roll over on you, though?"

Feliks shrugs, quite thoroughly distracted from the previous topic of conversation.

"No clue. I guess maybe he was dreaming about something?"

"...Snorlaxes dream?

Belbul just gives her human a Look.

"What, doesn't everyone?"

Feliks isn't convinced. Why should Snorlaxes not, when everyone else did? They spent so much time asleep, some of it must be spent dreaming...

"Yeah, but they sleep all the--ow!" He glares at his Carbink, who just hit him in the head. "It's a valid quest--ow!"

"So maybe they dream all the time! Maybe they have super cool dreams, and that's why they wanna sleep so much."

Well, it makes sense to him.

Kili, still glaring at his Carbink, shrugs a bit. "Didn't think of that. I just thought they slept all the time because they eat so much. That makes me sleepy sometimes."

"You've never had weird dreams after you eat too much? I totally have."

Kili shakes his head. "Only when I'm sick. Ma says I slip into a coma when I eat to much."

Belbul nods. He totally does.

"I guess it kinda depends on what I was eating? Like, it happens more with some kinds of foods. But they eat a ton of spicy food in Caldera, right? Spicy food does it to me all the time!"

"So...I should totally give you all the super spicy peppers I keep getting sent from home?"

This time he dodges Belbul when she goes for his head.

"For sure, I bet I could come up with some funny pranks to use them for!"

Actually, he can think of some hilarious ways someone could prank him, but he's not quite spacey enough to tell Kili as much.

"But I probably shouldn't eat them, or I'll probably kick Fai right of bed in my sleep or something."

"Fai?"

Wait. Is Feliks married? He can't be much older than Kili!

Something about the question catches Feliks a little off guard. So many Unionites already know, directly or because noble gossip is fun when you're not part of it (and sometimes when you are), that he seldom really has to explain it. His cheeks go a little pink.

"My, um. My boyfriend."

So no, not married.

"Oh." Kili nods. "What, does he not kick you in his sleep or something?"

Feliks sort of wonders if Calderans make as big a deal... well, as nobles do, mostly... about being married. Probably not, right? They run around half-dressed half the time, anyways...

He gives Kili a grin, at any rate, and flicks his hair back over his shoulder.

"Pssh, as if! He totally wouldn't dare, he knows how lucky he is."
