Event - The White Dragon
[The Warp Band feed opens with the Matriarch’s impassive face looking slightly haggard]
Union, I have a problem and am in need of assistance. About two hours ago refugees just started streaming into the Citadel territory. They say they’re from a city called “Glacier” that is being ripped apart by a giant white Dragon god. Sounds like it’s something up your alley. I’m sending them your way, we should probably go take care of that before it makes it over here. If you guys want to help out, I’ll lend you some of our birds. My Valkyries are already heading over, I’m sending a few flights out to the other cities as well to see if they want to join the party. Let me know what you decide.
Oh, the refugee leader is a fellow named Birgir. I gave him a Warp Band so he can probably tell you more about the situation.
(OOC: Questions to the Matriarch and Birgir can be asked here, and general reactions can also be posted here.)

[She hadn't realized that the band had picked her up. Being familiar with Waver helps, so she focuses on his words, letting that sink in.]
Since when have they been considered active? We hadn't heard anything about that at all.
[The timeline was probably closer to at least a year, but Waver wasn't sure how much he should reveal about these affairs.]
Most of their dealings have been with Union, aside from a few outliers. Because of some of the decisions of Sanctuary's Council, Union's Council decided to keep that information to themselves.
[Without a clear answer on the fate of the Homunculi programs, Waver felt that Union's Council had made a good decision in this regard. Besides-- it was Union business.]
And well. No need to make any untoward statements on a broadcasting network.]
I... see. [Now was hardly the time and place to discuss the political ramifications of that. She was here now; now was the time to learn about it. That was the bigger picture. And what a large picture. She's still taking the information in.] And it's been... confirmed that these were truly the Gods?
The news of the Homunculi program had been difficult for many in Union to swallow-- which made sense, considering their culture of idealism and naivety. It was only natural to try to protect something that precious, when faced with an unknown party.]
...I think so. Several people have had personal encounters, and they can give you the information properly if any of them step forward.
[And more than a little alarming, all told. To come face to face with the Gods and survive the encounter?]
It'll be easier to accept with more confirmation. Though the city almost sounds used to handling... developments like this.
If you look at the local lore, you'll find plenty of stories about the Savior. The Salvation holiday that they celebrate every winter commemorates the Savior approaching the wrathful Gods and begging forgiveness for Humanity's hubris. Her bravery, I think, is what inspires the people here to be so open about other points of view....and be considerate of the Gods' wishes and feelings too.
[Was that fondness in his tone? Perhaps.
Union was starting to feel more like Home to him than Sanctuary has in a long time.]
[Well, it wasn't as if there were a lack of things to learn in Sanctuary for her. Though after a while there's just not too much diversity in thought...]
You really care about this city. [It was kind of sweet, actually.]
Still... who knew that 'learning something new every day' would apply to the Gods as well. [It's clear that she's troubled about that.] Is it considered... normal for ordinary citizens to become involved in these matters?
[Waver let out a small, thoughtful hum.]
But....I don't think Union has a defined definition of 'normal', since they've historically been more cloistered than Sanctuary ever was. Any exploration has only started in the last couple of years-- and that's not a lot of time to develop a sense of what's 'normal' or not.

I'll need to tell you about the Cavern we all got lost in sometime-- you might have found that entire incident fascinating!
