Ninth Station - Beware of Flash Floods [Action, Union]

[Good afternoon, Union! It's a nice, sunny day, and it feels like the heat of the summer is finally starting to fade. Perfect weather to be outside and doing things, isn't it? However, if you're anywhere around the Residential District, you may hear a certain voice speaking some ways from you:]

...not like that! You gotta put some effort into it, like...like you're actually doing the move. Like...oh! Like this! *clears throat* "Hark, fiend! Thou wilst taste the wrath of Justice! Behold! The almighty power of...Metronome!!"

[Hope you have a water type to summon, because there's a sudden wave of water a la Surf suddenly heading your way. Surf's up, dude?]

[...Holy CRAP! Holy Crap where did that water come from?! Oh JEEZ she was just going to the store for some fresh Miltank Milk...

And here comes a wave of water right at her. It forces her to throw up her hands in a force field, a Wide Guard, to block the wave that's not breaking all around her shield...]

WHAT THE HELL?!

[And not far behind that wave of water comes Right running up in a panic. He's carrying a rather soaked, miserable-looking Tepig in his arms.]

--Oh, crap! I'm sorry, Lucca! Are you alright?!

[sparkofgenius]

[The field goes down, water draining around her as she glowers at Right.]

What the hell did you do?

[lunchleader]

[That look make him skid to a stop not far from her.]

Er-! Well...it was kind of an accident...?

[Feliks isn't a water type. Feliks doesn't even hang out with that many water types, because seriously, going onto their turf to look for them is a major pain with his fire typing.]

[He's just walking out of his apartment building, heading down the street towards the nearest gate, when suddenly water everywhere!]

[It picks him up, light and tiny as he is, and flings him halfway down the block and leaves him hanging halfway up a tree in a nearby park.]

What the -- ?!

[He does have more to say on the matter, but unfortunately, it all comes out as indistinguishable burbling sounds.]

Whoa!

[Sinbad scrambles as Vepar swims in his fish bowl, and Badr took to the air as the waves started coming - and he grabs the the lid of a garbage can to use as an impromptu surfboard]

[Not long after the waters recede, there comes a certain fellow fairy, running around like a chicken with his head cut off. As soon as he spots Feliks up in that tree, he rushes over, a panicky sort of guilty look on his face.]

Shit--are you alright?! D'you need help getting down?

[His Tepig, incidentally, is looking thoroughly soaked and miserable in his arms.]

[lunchleader]

[The waves don't last long, thankfully. And they do recede after a few moments. However, it appears that one of the other victims that got swept away is a poor little Tepig, squealing miserably as he tries his best to remain afloat.

'Tries' being the key term here.]

An accident? which of your Pokemon did this?

[...Seriously.]

[ Tendou's walking down the street with a bowl of tofu in his hand, delicately balanced and ready to break apart at the slightest sudden movement.

So of course leaping out of the way of the flash flood was out of the question. And so was getting hit. A conundrum, if he's ever seen one. At least, it would be if you were dealing with somebody other than Tendou.

He slowly bends down and taps the ground, tearing up a length of pavement to block the incoming wave with a Mat Block. Delicately, of course. Don't want to ruin the tofu. ]

[lunchleader]

Umm....none of them?

[He grins in a cheesy, nervous fashion.]

[lunchleader]

[The waves have been successfully blocked! They just flow around Tendou and his tofu for a few moments before receding.

Once they are gone, though, Right comes rushing into the area, holding a very soggy and miserable-looking Tepig in his arms.]

--Tendou! You okay?!

[sparkofgenius]

[Her attention snaps up, a flash of sudden surprise and irritation in her eyes.]

Don't tell me you did it. You don't have the typing.

[lunchleader]

No, no! It's not like that!

[Right quickly shakes his head, and then grows a little thoughtful after a moment.]

...well, sort of. Sometimes it's a water move; other times it could be fire, or lightning, or even plant-type. The move's kinda crazy like that.

[bearlydressed]

[Attempting to run away from a wave wasn't on Teddie's list of things to do, but guess it's been forced upon him now.]

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! [No one screams and runs in terror like a four foot tall Cubchoo. Of course, he's not going to get far before the wave washes him away and ends up dumping him face first into a couple of garbage bags that also got caught up in the watery mess.]

[lunchleader]

[Teddie, sadly, isn't the only Pokemon who got swept away by the waves. Not far from the Cubchoo, there groans a rather soaked, miserable-looking Tepig. Being a fire-type means that those waves really did a number on him, as apparently from how weakly he tries to get back onto his feet.]

[bearlydressed]

Grizzlies... [He mutters to himself before coming to a stand. He's thankful that ice types aren't weak against water, but wow that was not enjoyable, not since his fur's all soaked!

Of course, there's someone far more unfortunate than him, and Teddie's got to help the poor Tepig!] Hey! Need some help? [He's more than willing to get the Tepig back on his feet, or even carry him around if he doesn't have to strength to.]

...What did you do?

[Seriously.]

[lunchleader]

I was trying to help Momotaros here learn how to act...

[He holds up the still-soaked Tepig for a brief moment.]

And I thought was just acting out the move Metronome and it just...became real.

[lunchleader]

[The Tepig waves him off with one front leg.] Buzz off! I'm fine--whoah!

[Whoops, looks like not resting on all four legs made him collapse back onto the ground. And that's definitely a string of curses that such a cute little thing should not be saying.]

You did a Metronome? ... Right, you know that's dangerous, yeah? You could have Self Destructed.

[lunchleader]

--It can do that, too?!

[Aka, no he didn't fully realize all the dangers with it.]

Uh. Yeah? It can use any move.

[...]

You really didn't think this through did you?

[He looks to the Magikarp]

Look - before you can protest, it's impossible for you to drown, and the fire-type needs help.

[With that, Sinbad sets the bowl down as he reaches over to try to bring the Tepig over without falling in]

Here, just hold still and I'll get you out.

[And here Fuuka thought she was going to have a nice day out and about with her Pokemon. After her little trip with Yukiko, she thought about giving her new Aerodactyl some fresh air and spend some time together! Of course, that all changed when the surf started to come straight toward her!

It was a good thing her new Pokemon could fly or else they could have been soaked to the bone! However, while they managed to escape, it didn’t stop Fuuka from being covered in water ]
