015 // action - forest shrine, verdant forest
[ action - forest shrine ]
Let's get to it.
[ Haruka is in one of her Rhyhorn racing jumpsuits with the sleeves rolled up (though not quite to the scar she got botching her portion of the Sanctuary liberation efforts). She's facing down a member of the Divine Defense Force, light on her feet and ready for anything. If they're going to keep splitting up for missions, she needs an accurate assessment of her whole team's abilities. She can't respect what she hasn't seen in person.
So she's going to try to beat the crap out of them. All of them. One by one.
Passersby are welcome to stay to observe or challenge her, though responses to the latter may vary. The Divine Defense Force, however? Had better not hold back.
Haruka won't, either. ]
[ away from the sparring ]
[ Close enough to reach Trainer telepathically but far enough that the sparring shouldn't disrupt their afternoon, Sky the Beartic has spread a (leaf-embroidered) tablecloth across a tree stump and outfitted it with a variety of goodies for an outdoor tea party. There's plates of Poffins and PokéPuffs, as well as piping hot Berry tea from a fancy china teapot - Passion the Vulpix has accompanied them, and deigned to heat some water for their tea. There's also plenty of teacups, so anyone stumbling upon Sky, Passion, and a very confused World Shaking the Rhyperior is welcome to join their quaint assembly.
A word of advice, however: the teacups (and teapot) are sized for Beartic paws. Come thirsty. ]
[ later - throughout verdant forest ]
[ As the sun sets and the cool evening air wafts in, Haruka can be found on World Shaking's back, eyes half-closed as she navigates the Rhyperior through the trees. They haven't gone on one of these runs in a while, and after the scare she gave him in the caves, he deserved a treat. And she deserves to cool her head, too. They're all right. They passed another test. A respite's been earned.
The fact that she heard a god was spotted in this area from Snor-Lord and his human friends is utter coincidence. ]

Vul. [ Passion would dearly love to point out what a pity it is that they aren't all ladies, but she's on her best behavior
to prove she is the best lady of them all. Instead she takes another dainty lap of her tea, pauses to appreciate the flavor, and generally pretends she's alone at the table. ] Pix.[ Sky attempts a smile at Stradivarius, if only to distract them both from the way World Shaking is licking his chops. Have you adjusted to your evolution? ] Bear?
no subject
Niii. [Stradivarius returns that smile. It's hard to remember that she's a lot bigger now (relatively), but if she takes her time, it goes rather well.] Queen? [but maybe Sky can show her more of the Habitat sometime?]
no subject
This would be much more effective, however, were anyone paying attention to her. But World Shaking is just sitting, not sure what he did wrong and thus deciding not to move for a while, and Sky is listening to Stradivarius. She'd be delighted! Most of the places she frequents tend to be on the chillier side, however. Is that all right? ] Bear?
[ Maybe Natto can make her friend a scarf... ]

Kitty pops out of the teacup and wow! Passion has stuff in that cup! What is it, what is it? The immediate area around her mouth is immaculately clean, though the rest of her face and whiskers bear signs of inadequate cleaning. And also frosting.]
no subject
World Shaking sits there dumbly, letting the question sink in. Oh! The place he stays! There are a lot of rocks. These rocks are good for smashing.
...Passion begins to wonder how someone as immaculate as Trainer's Trainer could possibly permit herself to associate with the likes of first Martelé and now...this...shining example of youth. They should be ashamed of themselves for soiling Trainer's Trainer's good name!
But that is not what she tells the child. This is a special treat for people who behave themselves at tea parties. She's afraid you couldn't possibly understand. ] Vulpix vul.
no subject
Passion gets kitty's attention for a second! And then she's ignoring whatever Passion is saying and peeeers at the tea. She's going to start patting at the weirdly colored water if Passion doesn't stop her.]
no subject
Sky is quick to thank him for his opinions. You know. Those subjective things that are based on what he likes and dislikes. Surely there are many lovely things in the rock/ground parts, too! ] Bear...
Vul! [ Passion tries to nudge her teacup out of kitty's reach. Not for playing. For drinking. And this one is hers.
...Excuse her, Stradivarius? Could they have a...saucer, or something....for the infant? ] Pix?
no subject
Oh. The baby. Stradivarius puts down her cup and then reaches over to pick up kitty, who was starting to think that catching the teacup has to be a new game. There's some squirming and squeaking when Stradivarius wipes off the rest of that frosting with a handkerchief. Even after she's all clean, kitty keeps trying to get back onto the table. There's so much stuff there!]
Ni... [hmm]
no subject
Sky pours some tea into a saucer, then cups it in one palm to lower the drink to the ground....but with such direct proximity to her body, the tea is chilled by the time she's got it on the forest floor. Sky hides a frown quickly. ] ....Bear.
no subject
It takes a few moments before kitty approaches the saucer again. This time, she's patting at it with a paw and then licking it off. It's like water, but weird!
Stradivarius seems to relax a bit, but she's definitely keeping an eye on the small one. Where did Trainer go?]
no subject
....that seems to take care of both of the newcomers to teatime, so Sky folds her paws as best she can and smiles at the gathering. Would anyone care for a refill? ] Bear?
[ Passion has decided she is never attending another party that isn't invite-only. ]
no subject
Kitty looks up at the sounds World Shaking is making. Whoaaaa. How is he doing that? She wants to see! Abandoning her tea, kitty starts trying to scale Mt. Rhyperior...]
no subject
Sky puts one on a plate in front of Passion, who sits up straighter: thank goodness. Some people at this table understand how things are supposed to work.
World Shaking's thick skin prevents him from noticing the intruder. Instead, once he puts his teacup down after a particularly satisfying slurp, he blinks down at the ground in confusion. Wasn't there...something small there, earlier?
Huh. ]
no subject
Stradivarius is doing her best to ignore the slurping, so kitty manages to get up and up and. Whoaaa. This is a Tall perch. She squeaks triumphantly!]
no subject
Sky's answer sounds rather distracted, however, as she too is looking at how kitty has managed to scale Mt. Rhyperior. Should they....say something? But if he moves suddenly, he may injure the child.....
World Shaking's head swivels slowly to look at how everyone is now looking at him. He grunts. What? ]
no subject
Meanwhile, kitty's eyes are getting wide. It's moving! She hunkers down atop of World Shaking's head, but doesn't seem alarmed enough to dig her claws in (or try to).]
no subject
Sky watches with bearted breath, herself forgetting that Passion had asked her to pass the snacks. The Vulpix is thus left sitting here with very little tea in her cup and nothing to eat, completely ignored. What's left of the tea in her cup begins to steam again, apparently of its own volition.
...Yes, isn't the infant charming. Stradivarius? A Poffin, perhaps? Your new evolution is indeed so very lovely. ] Pix?
no subject
Nope, Stradivarius sounds extremely distracted.] Queen? [perhaps World Shaking can slowly bend over and she can retrieve the kitten?
...hey, Passion.] Doof.
no subject
Sky's paws both go to her mouth as kitty's perch begins leaning, lest an errant gasp frighten the child into losing her grip. Oh,
bdear!....Passion looks down. And she doesn't even attempt to disguise the way her ears just went completely horizontal. ] Pix.
[ It's. Close to her. Her skin crawls. ]
no subject
Stradivarius will hold up her arms to try and catch the baby, but she's not very....tall.]
Doof. [Brad doesn't seem to notice, seeing how he's climbing up onto the table to get at those poffins.]
no subject
[ Passion growls should Brad pass by, either on his way to the Poffins or if Sky's grab attempt is successful. And World Shaking.....tilts his head in the other direction. There's some kind of. Weight on it? Maybe? How? ]
no subject
Nido. Queen! [okay. Nobody move. She's going to (heaven forbid) stand on the table if she has to!!
Brad a bit slippery, but he's not exactly trying to dodge. When he gets picked up though, he starts squirming and dripping river water everywhere.]
no subject
So she offers Stradivarius the beaver. Her apologies at making you hold someone wet when you're now a Ground-type, but could you watch this gentleman for a moment, please? ] Bear?
Vul!
[ And now Passion has been splashed.....World Shaking is not sure what all's happening (or where that sound is coming from). He turns in a circle. No. The meowing thing is nowhere. That is so strange. ]
no subject
...he's gonna drip a bit on the table and the tea stuff before Stradivarius moves him away.
Kitty still hasn't stopped crying yet. It's moving again!!]
no subject
This afternoon just keeps getting more and more confusing for World Shaking.
But Sky's paws when she reaches for kitty are gentle, and Passion turns her back on Brad, tails in the air. You're unwelcome, sir. Depart. ] Pix.
[ Ugh. She has Bidoof water on herself... ]
