They've set up a set of twin practice dummies (a big one for Kaido, a smaller one for Scraggy) and are practicing kicks and punches with synchromised timing, with Flabébé alternating between checking on the egg they have nearby and pushing a large ball around with Fairy Wind.

They've been at this for a week. Someone stop them.

[Scraggy's done! He stands up, pulls up his pants in a gesture clearly meant to pump him up, and gets ready.

Kaido puts down the rest of his fries and stands, grabbing what looks like a flat stone attacked to a sturdy string through a hole. He moves a little distance away from you, and starts spinning it. Fast. In a second, it's already a blur]

Ready?

[Scraggy nods]

Go!

[Scraggy stays immobile for half a second, his eyes looking straight ahead... and bam, he jumps and kicks the stone right when it's in front of him, kicking it out of Kaido's grip and making it fly away]

[Ooooh - his eyes light up and he grins]

That's really amazing! The precision and reaction speed is great!

No matter how fast, he'll hit it. [Heh] I could use something like this.

[Good job Scraggy. He gives him an extra berry, which Scraggy happily bites into]

Wait until your Dark type starts to kick in, that should do wonders to your instincts and reaction.

[... He looks away and adds quietly]

... I'll be careful, okay? [He's not going to go berserk or anything]

Yeah. Well, I'm sure you'll be okay! It'd only be really dangerous if you were all on your own, but you have me and miss Mari and your Pokemon. We'll bail you out if anything happens.

Are you saying I couldn't handle it on my own?

[He's smirking, but there's a fond light in his eyes]

Of course! Where'd you be without us?

[Folding his arms and striking a proud pose. He and Mari and Flabebe are all part of "Keep an eye on Kaido, that loser" squad]

More seriously though, it is dangerous, and I'd rather not let you try to tackle it on your own. It's not the kind of thing you're supposed to deal with alone.

At first, maybe. But then something happens and they have to team up and become hesitant friends. And then normal friends. Also, they're supposed to hate being in a team together and argue a lot but then there's always the part where they get separated and realize they can't do anything without the other's smarts or strength and become better friends. So like it or not, you're stuck with me. It's all in the book~
