[Fletchinder does his version of a shrug.]

That's too bad, but I'll get another chance.

[Fletchinder begins preening his new feathers while Apollo continues filming his starter.]

I've seen Pokémon evolve before, but this is the first time that someone who I've bonded with has evolved. It never stops being incredible to watch them change. I don't think I could ever get tired of seeing it. What about everyone else? Is it the same way for you?

[A brief pause as he remembers that not everyone is like him.]

How many of you have seen a Pokémon evolve before?

[The image wobbles severely for a bit while Apollo turns off the camera.]

You should get used to staying in the wilderness during the day and getting a feel for moving around in the forest first. Sleeping in the wilderness can be dangerous, even if you're careful.

I know that a lot of rangers bring sleeping bags with them all the time, so you don't have to sleep on the ground. I don't like being weighed down with lots of stuff though. It slows me down. Grandpa's the same way.

Oh...don't worry! I was just talking about sleeping on my bedroom floor right now. Haha...

[Even he's not thick enough to try camping alone at first]

Oh. Your Grandpa's one too? And you must know a lot about the wild to not need much stuff!

Grandpa's been a ranger since he finished school. He's taught me almost everything that Pokémon haven't.

Wow, that must be a lot! You must be very lucky to have him!

Yeah. He started taking care of me after my parents died, since I didn't have any other family.

[There's no sadness in his tone despite the subject matter.]

[He meanwhile feels sad for him. Since man, losing family is pretty terrible]

I'm sorry to hear that.

They died when I was two years old. I don't remember them.

[Can't be sad about losing someone who you don't remember knowing, right? ...Actually as far as Apollo's concerned that really is true.]
