I've got something to say (Closed)
Who: Yukiko and Yosuke
Where: Forest Shrine
When: Week 79
What: Yukiko and Yosuke have some stuff to talk about, so she brings him out to the Forest Shrine
Yukiko didn't really like thinking about all this, about how she had basically been kicked out of her house for the time being. Yes, she'd found work and she had a place of her own, and she was doing what she wanted to do? But that didn't make it any easier or less painful to think about. Her mother had been furious when she'd found out, and even angrier that her daughter had gone on an expedition into the ruins without saying something. Nevermind that they hadn't been speaking, or that Yukiko had literally left the house. She was still her daughter, so of course it mattered where she was!
All that weighed rather heavily on the newest member of the Seekers, and had for a few days now, and even if she didn't really want to talk about it she knew she needed to. And she knew, too, that Yosuke deserved to hear what other people had been saying to her. She believed it fully, and felt that she was doing the right thing by grabbing her own destiny by the horns. Maybe it wasn't what her family wanted, just like what she was going to tell him may not be what his family wanted, but it was what was right for them. and for Union.
Squandering gifts was never wise, and even without abilities like hers, Yosuke had a gift. He was good with Pokemon, if Makie and Fuzzy were any indication. She believed that too, fully, and in a way? She felt like she was responsible for those frowns the other day.
So, when he'd returned from Refuge, as promised, she bought a picnic lunch (after several failed attempts at cooking food, Ganesha had insisted on that) and took him and her Pokemon out to the Shrine. Jiraiya, Orthrus, Hestia, Lillith, and Peter were all out and going about their business as usual. Mostly enjoying the sun and napping, though Hestia made it a point to help Yukiko prepare the food.
As she works, quietly really, Yukiko hummed quietly in time to a tune from her Warp Band. A radio jingle advertising a restaurant in Caldera first, and then one of Rise's old songs.

Frustrated with dealing with Makie and letting her go do whatever she wanted, he heads back to the blanket laid down on the ground to join Yukiko and Hestia.
"That didn't go as well as I planned," he says in exasperation. "Want me to help you guys lay this stuff out?"
no subject
Yukiko and the Chansey, however, both look up at the question.
"Sure, if you want. I got it downtown from a nice little restaurant that sells Calderan and Citadel food. Chie recommended the steak, so I gave it a shot."
no subject
"Really? We might supply them with their meat, Junes actually opened as a meat market at first when we moved here. It's gotten a lot bigger in the last few months though. Although...I'm not surprised at all that Chie recommended it to you."
And his voice reflects how unsurprised he is, flat while he helps the two of them.
no subject
Still, she's just a bit surprised, and it might show on her face as she continues laying out trays. It's steaming hot still, helped by the ride on a Rapidash and being kept in special containers.
"I don't usually eat a lot of heavy meat like bouffalant and miltank but today felt like the right day."
And it was all they had available.
no subject
"That smells really good Yukiko. When can we start?"
no subject
She doesn't seem at all put out by it. Chie's her best friend, Yosuke is a new friend, and that's really all she needs to know. Maybe one day she'll drag the three of them out.
She pulls out utensils and picks up one of the small lunch boxes, beginning to cut the meat. All the while? She is pointedly ignoring Peter grumblings at Makie, as while he's happy to train he's convinced she totally can't handle him. (In fairness he has a literal ton on her)
"Did you bond any new Pokemon on your trip?
no subject
"So, I know that you wanted to talk about something, and I figured bringing it up now was just as good a time as any. About the whole Seekers thing and going out and doing something more with life."
no subject
"I did, yes. Because I got the feeling your dad is a bit like mine? He wants you to do something, right? Like...taking over Junes?" It's a simple question, but she wants to confirm that before going on, and really talking about this. It'd be better if she's gotten the wrong impression but...
no subject
"Yeash...he jus wantsh me ta *gulp* take over the branch of the store here in Union. He's a pretty good businessman, but he can't stay in Union. Mom's back home, and he figured that I'd like it here." He shrugs. He was prepared for that kind of life, even if that's not what he wanted.
no subject
"And you...feel like that's what you want to do? You want to take over Junes?"
no subject
"Lately, I've been able to go out and see the world. Staying rooted in one spot just seems like a total waste." It feels better to be able to share this with someone else, especially someone that he knows understands where he's coming from, and vice versa.
no subject
Sure, helping people calm down and relax is something. But she's been really, truly blessed. And anyone who can take to Pokemon like Makie? Is also pretty blessed.
"You haven't talked to him, have you?"
no subject
"I don't know why, but I feel like he already knows. Every time I ask off from work to go out and do things, he lets me. I don't get much crap from him. Like when he let me to go Sanctuary. He wasn't happy with me, but he understood. After hearing about your parents, I'm pretty grateful that my dad's not really like that."

Focus on the other thread?

This is shortly accompanied by a light drizzle that begins to fall from the skies.
None of this is particularly unusual, save that just outside their immediate vicinity, the skies seem to be as blue and sunny as they were before.]
no subject
[That is unusual. Especially for Yukiko. She blinks up at the sky, trying to exert her own control over the weather to bring back the sunshine. And it's not working, at all.
She swallows and looks to Jiraiya and Yosuke.]
I have a bad feeling about this...
no subject
Is something wrong? What's so wrong about the rain?
no subject
[...not at all...]
no subject
Dude, that's freaking me out, why the hell shouldn't it be raining?
no subject
...The wind does, instead.
A gust of wind practically lifts them off the ground and presses them south, away from the shrine back to the city. Despite the force, it seems to guide them gently such that they don't smash into any trees or anything else too undignified.]
no subject
Because...I can make rain stop, Yosuke.
[Except this...]
I hope it's not another Enhanced.
no subject
[He tries his own luck, trying to use his own newfound power over the wind, but whatever is in charge of this doesn't seem to be interested in doing what Yosuke wants. He's never had this happen before, and while he thought that maybe it might be a sign from the Great Tree, they weren't anywhere near Citadel.]
You mean those freaky people who showed up a while back? The ones that had like, superpowers?
no subject
Well, actually, they'll stop pretty soon as the wind drops them lightly next to the mouth of a river flowing out from a small pond after a minute or two. It's a beautiful, pristine pool, crystal-clear and perfectly still despite the droplets of rain coming down.
...Has this place ever been marked on a map?
Snor-Lord, on the other hand, would require a typhoon to move so after a few moments of unsuccessful wind-force, it seems to pause for a moment before deciding that the Pokemon will probably follow its trainer, anyway.]
no subject
[Yukiko's eyes go wider and wider as they're pushed along, but she's beginning to think less and less that it's one of the Enhanced. They wouldn't be so gentle. And they probably wouldn't be letting Snor-Lord trundle along behind them.
The pond definitely banishes the last vestiges of worry. An Enhanced shouldn't have that much control.]
...wow...it's...SNOOOOOR!
[And here's Snor-Lord, charging in...]
...beautiful.
[Dammit Peter.]
no subject
Just put us down! [He says in irritation, until they arrive at the mouth of the river.]
Oh. Well, that worked. [He casts his eyes over the sight, surprised.] Woah, it really is beautiful. Where the hell are we though? Woah! [He yells at the Snorlax.]
Dude, will you watch where you're walking?
no subject
More and more swiftly, like a curtain of shimmering water trailing down from the skies. And while they might be tempted to seek shelter from the downpour, some innate instinct, perhaps, will stop them. Even as they watch, the limpid pool begins to take on a faint ethereal glow.
And now they can feel the rain no longer - its range tightens and narrows, focusing solely upon that pool, and the unearthly light begins to arc high into the skies. Something like a rainbow shimmers before them, but the effect is more ephemeral than a rainbow ever was. Should they have cause to travel to the northern lands, perhaps they would learn the name of this phenomenon.
Where the falling rain meets the standing pool, the curtain of water drops heavily for the final time, spreading out in a great ripple across the pond. In that instant, something coalesces out of nothingness.
All falls still.]
Children of man.
[A pause.]
And... Snorlax.
Welcome.
