The Heart of the Forest
Who: Ceilto, Lux Crownguard, Yukiko Amagi, Eiji Hino, Estelle Bright, Sinbad, Haruka Tenou, Rise Kujikawa, Domri Rade, Right Suzuki
Where: The West Wildwoods Ruins
When: Two days after this announcement.
What: Adventure calls! The Seekers and friends respond.
The path to the ruins itself had already proven difficult. Stopping off at Refuge along the way for a chat with the natives, the intrepid explorers had delved deep into the underground passageways to seek their destination, the route above ground proving to be impassable due to the thick, gnarled trees and overgrown brambles. A few lanterns and liberal usage of Flash had helped guide their way, and eventually, several hours and a half-dozen stray Rock- and Ground-types later, they had finally emerged into an enormous cavern...
Ceilto increases the power of his Flash as he whistles.
"Look at that."
A hulking edifice of collapsed metal and rock stretches out before them... It appears to have once been a tower of some sort, though the upper layers are no longer visible.
"Alright, folks. Here's where we split. Lux and Estelle, you guys are the senior Seekers here, so I'm putting you in charge. Yukiko, Sinbad, you're with Lux. Rise, Eiji, Right, go with Estelle. Domri and Haruka, you're with me. There are entrances on three sides: Lux, take the center, Estelle, you go right."
Which, of course, leaves him with left. With a wave, Ceilto beckons his group forward.
"Anything happens, blow the whistle."

sorry domri, i'll be late tonight so i wanted to be sure i got a tag in :(
[ Reuniclus does one better and puts a Reflect up in front of the party. Just in case anything physical decides to follow the sudden onslaught of mystery dust.
Rotom, however, intrepidly attempts to touch the door, heedless of both dust and shaking. This thing is moving. What happens if it gets pressed? ]
no subject
[Ceilto steps back quickly towards the stairs as well, pulling Domri with him in case his adventurous spirit decides to rear its head again. As the door rattles more and more violently and the dust scatters everywhere, the party may feel their limbs begin to stiffen.
Rotom, however, will be just fine, despite its proximity to the substance.]
...Stun Spore.
[In the next instant, the door bursts open, smashing through Rotom. ...Good thing it's a ghost. And clearly visible through the doorway...]
Gods!
[An enormous colony of Paras and Parasect, red-capped mushrooms sprouting everywhere. The lead bugs demonstrate no particular emotion as they skitter forward to see what's wandered into their nest.]
orz
The Stun Spores freak him out a bit, since they remove the only physical ability he really has in a fight: his speed. But there's no way he can allow himself to display a weakness such as fear, so he redirects that fear into anger. Anger that suddenly has an outlet when the Paras and Parasect make their appearances. They have/are mushrooms, so they're probably Grass-type. Thus...]
Jasna! Ripley! Burn them!
[Jasna the Growlithe uses Flame Wheel and Ripley the Charmeleon uses Flame Charge, both of them charging straight at the approaching Para-party. Nothing bad can possibly come of these actions.]
no subject
[ Perhaps making that judgment call is premature, but they're underground and interested in limiting the damage to the area. Haruka cannot see fire as the most intelligent choice right now.
Reuniclus switches to Light Screen to shield everyone else from the flames as best he can, while Haruka struggles against the Stun Spore to get to her feet. She'll try and beat Banzu's Pokémon to the swarm with Air Slash, hoping to knock the bugs back whence they came. ]
no subject
These are a Wildwoods specialty - their minds are consumed by the mushrooms on their back and they rely wholly on instinct. They shy from fire.
[The slice of the winds through the air knock the front tier backwards and the charge of the fire-types burn through a few more... but they simply scuttle around the flames as they continue to flood through the doorway.]
We can use the fire to direct a path if Haruka can control it with the wind. I'll protect us from the spores.
[A gleaming aura of silver surrounds them as Ceilto summons a Safeguard.]

[Jasna and Ripley continue to charge around using Flame Wheel and Flame Charge, respectively, providing plenty of fire for Haruka to manipulate. Domri himself and the rest of his team can't do much at the moment, the close quarters making their available ranged attacks liable to hit allies and melee attacks likely to result in being overwhelmed by zombie mushrooms.]
no subject
Nice and easy now...
[Ceilto's tone has become uncharacteristically gentle as he uses Refresh to shake off any of the paralysis that had begun to set in. If anyone is struggling to move quickly due to the spores, he'll ease them along the path that Haruka is creating.]
And close it in behind us.
[The line of fire keeps the Parasect from scuttling too close, and they click and twitch their pincers in dismay. As they delve further into the room, they move past the initial offensive Parasect force towards the weaker Paras at the back.]
Good work. Just --
[At that moment, another shower of dust launches over the flames to wash over Jasna and Ripley. ...The two Pokemon will feel an uncontrollable urge to kill their flames and completely refocus them on one or two specimens back towards the wooden door. Screw those Parasect in particular.]
Rage Powder!
[...He's got nothing.]
Run for it!
no subject
Domri and his other Pokémon will follow after Ceilto, trusting that Jasna and Ripley will be able to take care of themselves for a few moments, and knowing that he can summon them back to his side one the trainers have got some distance.]
no subject
She passes Domri easily, and reaches out a hand to try and drag him along. No offense, kid, but
she's a jerkrunning's her specialty and they're going to want some distance if all those fires get doused.Rotom brings up the rear, using Thunder Wave on the nearest bugs to buy the group some time. ]
no subject
And swarm they do! As they run, Haruka and Domri are targeted by Slashes and Fury Cutters coming their way, though as these come from the weaker Paras, they shouldn't be completely incapacitated. Ceilto, in the meantime, slows his pace about halfway through his run.]
Keep going!
[Protect shimmers around him as he kicks at the swarming bugs in an attempt to draw their attention.
Meanwhile, up ahead, the caverns diverge into two paths. One has a placard posted on it, much as was seen on the first door. The other is nondescript.]
no subject
She staggers as the bugs' attacks strike her legs but keeps running. If she can just clear a path.... ]
no subject
Root! Skit! Slash!
[The Zigzagoon, Spinarak, and Scyther each take a moment to turn and attack the swarm, using Secret Power, Electroweb, and Technician-boosted Vacuum Wave, respectively, but they aren't about to take more than that moment away from fleeing. Hopefully the attacks will cause enough disruption to the swarm that the group can get some additional distance from them, but with these numbers it's anyone's guess how this will go.]
no subject
They've bought themselves room to flee, certainly, but unless this passage ends outside the building where they can escape, it seems as if they'll just be fleeing endlessly.
Up ahead, however, the marked passage opens up quickly into another cavern. At a glance, they might notice that it's awfully... shiny, even without any light.
At a second glance, if they look back, they might notice that the Paras and Parasect stop just outside the passage. If they keep looking ahead, though, they'll see another door.
There's a sign on the wall near them, too. It's faded, but more obviously visible than the last one covered by Stun spore.]
no subject
She looks all over the cavern to see whether she can tell what's causing the shininess, then checks the sign. Is there any chance of this being in letters she can read? ] Seems like we've gotten ourselves somewhere interesting.
no subject
Somewhere that those Pokémon don't want to go. Maybe there's some big predator around here that they're scared of!
[Domri that's not something to be so excited about.]
no subject
[Ceilto appears in the entrance of the cavern with Paras climbing up and around his torso. With a grunt, he pulls them off and flings them away.]
What's this, then?
[Haruka will find the following things of interest in the cavern: a giant hole in the ceiling that's blocked by the building above, a large depression in the floor where it appears something had once fallen, and an enormous amount of glittering dust in the air.
The sign itself has words she very likely can't read. More noticeably, however, there is a large symbol painted on it. ...Ceilto walks over and blows off some of the dust.]
Look at that.
[It resembles a helix.]
no subject
and ddf memberswill need visuals. ] I've never seen that in ruins before.[ She sketches quickly so she can also check out that depression in the floor. Something fell through the ceiling and landed hard enough to mess this place up that badly, maybe? Impressive. ]
no subject
With his Pokémon looked after, Domri heads into the cavern himself, making his way towards the depression.]
This is it?
no subject
[Ceilto brushes a hand through the glowing dust, but he certainly can't grasp hold of any of it.]
No gold or silver today. But...
[And from his pack, he'll remove some vials and begin to take air samples.]
I have a feeling this will be important.
[At the very center of the depression, Domri will find a tiny, warped piece of stone that glows the same way as the rest of the dust.]
no subject
Is this normal for your expeditions? [ Haruka turns her attention to the ceiling since her companions have the floor and the air covered. How big's that hole? ]
no subject
I was hoping we would find something more interesting than a hole in the ground.
