[Hey, Union! It's that chatty Calderan photographer you all know and love. Hayato appears on the feed with a slight smile on his face. It not his normal humor but it looks like he's trying. Hm.]

Hey, city. Everyone still winding down after that battle? I'm still not quite sure what to make of it, but I guess we'll see what happens.

[That sounded more like a shitty attempt as small talk more than anything.]

So! Day of Fire is coming up! I don't know if you Unionites have ever heard of it, but that's what we call the summer solstice in Caldera. It's a lot of fun. It's basically just one huge party all throughout the night with dancing and singing and the Throwing of the Colors. You guys should go check it out, you won't regret it.

[His smile is much more genuine this time, at least. It honestly looks like he's got a secret he won't tell. Mostly its that he hopes Union comes and they are delighted and aghast at literally everything that transpires for this holiday. But also he feels like you guys need to lighten up and have fun. It's with that he ends the feed.]

[Action, near Downtown. OPEN]

[Hayato was never a guy who stayed at home. He could always be found out doing something.]

[This time it looks like he's trying to train one of his pokemon. He's crouched down with an Aron in front of him. In front of the Aron is two things- a small pile of scrap metal and a nice looking dagger of some kind.]

Okay. So, let's go over this again. This [He gestures to the scrap] is NikonFood. This? [He points to the weapon.] Is not food. It is Thorin's livelihood. We do not eat Thorin's livelihood okay?

[Nikon the Aron nods.]

Now, what do you eat?

[Nikon goes for the scraps! Hayato sighs in relief and just as he's about to congratulate him on being good he looks down to see the Aron has also started munching on the dagger. He sputters.]

Day of Fire? Throwing of the Colors?

[She's out wandering when she comes upon Hayato making his post, and talking about the Day of Fire. As he completes the post she creeps up behind him, and launches herself onto his back with little more than an ominous greeting as she does.]

Yep! We call it the Day of Fire because we keep several bonfires burning through out the night, and because fire is a big deal to us. You know.

[He grins a little.]

Throwing of the Colors is a lot what it sounds like. Lots of businesses sell colored powder or sand for this holiday. We throw it at each other. All day long.

[The noise he makes almost isn't human. He freezes up and shrieks in alarm.]

Oh gods, Honoka!

[You frightened him into using your first name, look at that.]

[She just drapes herself over him and hugs him around the neck, making a somewhat soothing cooing noise.]

Ohh, hush. I warned you~!

[Still really tense but he's at least not shouting.]

That wasn't much of a warning, you know. That was like throwing a voltorb at me and then yelling duck after it self-destructs.

It was at least yelling duck as it sailed toward your head. How are you?

That still doesn't solve the problem of the self-destruct!

[ Bilbo is usually at the library five days a week - extenuating circumstances that can come with being Enlightened notwithstanding - but he always makes time to go on a walk and stretch his legs, which is when he chances upon this little scene.

[Hrk. Hayato looks over his shoulder. Oh, it was ....the Librarian. A friend of Thorins. He grins kind of sheepishly.]

It is. Not one of his commissions or anything. Nikon seems to think everything in the forge is food. I'm. Trying to train it out of her before he gets better and she makes a meal of the whole forge.

It seems like a lot of people lost track of time. It's a good thing I made this post, after all. I think it's time we showed Union what a good party looks like.

[Not that he was going, but he was sure the rest of his household was.]

June 21st! So it's coming up real soon.

Well, you take all your friends and family and get together. You take a great big fistful of colored powder and then you ...throw it at everyone with reckless abandon.

You mean...it's one huge color fight?!

No, I can't imagine that would please him. Although I suppose it must make perfect sense to her.

[ he looks down at the aron, looking faintly amused. ]

Me too! O-or, well, I was born there, I haven't actually lived there since I was little. But I remember the Day of Fire pretty well!

[ because what six year old wouldn't treasure the memory of pelting (and being pelted by) his parents and sister with brightly coloured powder until years later? ]
