The sun is shining, the Wingull are squawking, and the beach of the Tropical Island is as beautiful as always. The whole city has more or less been effectively encouraged to come out, especially people who need to recover from the shenanigans in Sanctuary. The air is filled with the sounds and smells of Citadel visitors grilling, the expected murmurs of shock at Calderan fashions hitting the place where they're most practical, and of course, the colorful sights of everyone having a good time. There's lots of places to see and things to do on the island, and now's the time to enjoy them.

It's all auditory, I'm not going to be able to disfigure you with sound. Well...not unless I tried really, really hard. And where's the point in that?

[That's a relief to hear she'd rather not disfigure him.]

[She leans back and puts her arms behind her head, not at all bothered to be stretching out in front of a boy.]

[Don't mind him appreciating that view, because he is. Though he looks confused.]

Huh? I offered to pay you, didn't I? [And volunteer himself...what was he forgetting?]

[She smirks up at his obvious cluelessness, and as the most attractive woman in Caldera (hohoho) she doesn't seem at all bothered.]

[She laughs and reaches for the Golett that's basically ignored them this whole time, plucking a grape from it's waiting hand.]

[He whines, unhappy that it had even come out of his mouth...]

Anyway, it's nice to meet you Lucca. I just came in from Citadel myself a few weeks ago.

[She grins up at him and nods.]

Citadel huh? Haven't been up that way myself. But I hear good things. You guys really live in a giant tree?

[He sighs.]

Yeah, we seriously do. It's given us shelter for the longest time, so, we take good care of it just like it's taken good care of us.

Hey, that's kinda cool though. Isn't it? You sound like you think it's not?

Well, it's kinda been around since I was born, and that's what the priests and priestess teach. It's not that I don't believe in that stuff. It just seems strange to explain it to others.

[And it's just easy to take for granted when you're young.]

Well, cultural relativism and all that. I think that's pretty normal.

[Lucca adjusts her glasses.]

Seems strange to me to explain Calderan customs to other people too, y'know? I mean, hell I've caught flak for my bathing suit from these Union prudes.

[Lucca pulls down her glasses, blue eyes flashing with amusement. Small silver flecks in her iris gleam in the sunlight as her grin grows.]

[Okay this is starting to get awkward.]

[He's not so sure how to feel about being called precious for reasons already stated. In fact, this is just downright awkward for him now.]

Uh, yeah, so back to the whole invention part of the conversation...

And she calms down, no more mad cackling.]

You'll need to come by sometime next week, I think. I'll get you a materials list later.

And where exactly is that supposed to be?

[He says while trying to calm himself down. That's not telling him where she lived, or where her shop was. Man...]

Oh, my workshop is at...[Insert address here.] Come by sometime after noon. I won't be awake till at least eleven. New projects keep me up late and all.

Alright. I'll make sure to drop by sometime after that.

[At least the awkward part was over.]

Well, I should get going...! I promised someone I'd meet them here! [Which he didn't actually promise anyone anything.]
