Who: The people of Union and all their wonderful friends who can be bothered to take a vacation.
Where: The Tropical Island

What: Union's more-than-annual beach party. Open log, tag around!

The sun is shining, the Wingull are squawking, and the beach of the Tropical Island is as beautiful as always. The whole city has more or less been effectively encouraged to come out, especially people who need to recover from the shenanigans in Sanctuary. The air is filled with the sounds and smells of Citadel visitors grilling, the expected murmurs of shock at Calderan fashions hitting the place where they're most practical, and of course, the colorful sights of everyone having a good time. There's lots of places to see and things to do on the island, and now's the time to enjoy them.

[She turns to look at him fully.]

Still though, I don't think it'll be too distracting for me. Have you been working out more lately?

[There she is! He gets excited to see Rise across the beach, and semi-casually semi-half runs over to her and Asemu.]

Heeeeeeey, Rise!

[He gives a wave to her and another smaller bro-wave to Asemu.]

What's up?

Well, I -- eh?

[Asemu watches as the unfamiliar guy heads over.]

Er. Hi.

[He turns to look at Rise.]

Friend of yours?

Yeah! Asemu, this is Yosuke. He's new in from Citadel. Yosuke, this is Asemu Asuno, probably the best Ranger in Union.

[She grins at Yosuke, and takes Asemu's hand. Even Yosuke should be able to take that level of hint.]

[punchesyu]

[A ranger? How the hell could he even of competed against that anyway....]

Nice to meet you, man. [He offers a hand, to shake the one that isn't holding Rise's.]

Got any sweet stories from going out in the wilderness?

[Asemu scratches his cheek sheepishly when Rise praises him.]

Ah...well, I try.

[Though he does take Yosuke's hand when he offers it.]

Ah, not many. Being a Ranger isn't as romantic as they make it sound. There was the whole lava god thing, but that was at Citadel, so you probably already know all about that.

[Rise nods fervently.]

That was the scariest thing! I still don't know how we kept it together well enough to get him to go away...

[She might just be overselling how scary the memory was, but then again, she's a very demonstrative person.]

Yeah, I remember. [He says a little shakily. That was frightening on a level that he can't even begin to explain.]

Thanks again for the help with that. We were getting ready to get the hell outta there until you guys showed up.

Not a problem. It's our job to protect people from natural hazards, as well as the other way around. I just did what was expected of me.

[Asemu, I don't think that facing a legendary Pokémon falls into the standard job description.]
