[A quick bolt of electricity whizzes by in the background before Chie even gets started.]

...Does anybody have any experience with getting Pokemon to stop being afraid of things?

[And again, in the other direction.]

I mean, afraid of, like, everything.

[There's a low buzzing sound and Chie turns around to briefly reveal a Rotom hiding behind her shoulder.  Once it sees the Warp Band is on, it dives back behind her.  She sighs, shaking her head.]

Usually I'm the one who's afraid of Ghost types, but this is just ridiculous.

He is now at least. Maybe your Rotom will get stronger and braver too!

Maybe let him get used to you and stuff and then gently try to encourage him?

I'm not that good with ghosts... how do you do that with one?

I don't know. I don't really have any ghost Pokemon.

It's not like I can exactly hug him or anything... I'm pretty sure I'd either go right through or get electrocuted.

Well, yea. But not all Pokemon need hugs and stuff. Some just need a safe place to rest and, like food and stuff.

I used to go out on expeditions with Mama and Papa and they always said that to get Pokemon to trust you, you gotta figure out what they want and then show you can give it to them without them getting hurt.

It seems like what he wants is to feel safe.

Most Pokemon do. I wonder what sort of nest or den sort of thing Rotoms like. Maybe you can ask around about that and make up something really nice for it!

Aren't there supposed to be a lot of old, broken down machines in the Old City ruins? Maybe you could find something there.

I dunno, I've never really been down there before. But I guess it can't hurt to take a look, right?

No problem! I think it's really important to get along with Pokemon, and I know that can be hard when they're scared of you.

Actually, the weird thing is that I seem to be the only thing he isn't scared of.
