So, uh...

[A quick bolt of electricity whizzes by in the background before Chie even gets started.]

...Does anybody have any experience with getting Pokemon to stop being afraid of things?

[And again, in the other direction.]

I mean, afraid of, like, everything.

[There's a low buzzing sound and Chie turns around to briefly reveal a Rotom hiding behind her shoulder. Once it sees the Warp Band is on, it dives back behind her. She sighs, shaking her head.]

Usually I'm the one who's afraid of Ghost types, but this is just ridiculous.

Maybe start by finding its comfort zone? It has to be okay somewhere, right?

I guess he was doing okay down in the Mausoleum, since that's where I found him.

Maybe anywhere dark and quiet would work?

So... the basement of my parents' house?

That could work. Then introduce him to people and Pokémon gradually, instead of all at once. I think I heard that's how you're supposed to do it for shy ones.

Did you ever have one like that, Rise? That you had to take it slow with like that?

Well...no, not so much.

I might have Bonded an unfair number of Pokémon I just let live in the Habitat, though...

You do visit them, though, right?

Well yeah, obviously. I'm not going to Bond someone and then just ignore them. And they're all pretty happy with the Habitat...I just sometimes feel bad for not hanging out with some of them more.

Well, let's go and visit them sometime! I've got some of mine in there too, you know. And maybe Sparky won't be terrified of some of them.

There's not a lot of things a Whismur can do to be terrifying, it's true.

Except all that screaming.

Huh? Screaming? I've never heard Yamaha do anything like that...

...maybe I do need to take her out more...

Yeah, not screaming is definitely a good thing.

I still don't know what to do with this guy, though.

I'm thinking quiet, relaxing rooms. Introduce other Pokémon and people slowly.

Yeah, that's probably the best idea. A quiet room with nothing and no one else in it.

And introduce like one new thing at a time. That way he can learn without getting overwhelmed.

One thing at a time. Right. So what's the least frightening, least threatening thing I could possibly start with?

Hm...do you know any Happiny?

[A muffled Bliss! comes from behind Rise.]

I know you've always been cool, Toyo, but we're talking appearances here.

You mean, like... personally?

Well yeah, do you have one Bonded, do any of your friends, that kind of thing. They're about the least threatening Pokémon in the world.

Not that I know of. But maybe I can check the Breeding Center.
