Has anyone ever bonded with a Pokémon and realized that they simply don't...fit? Their typing, their personality, whatever?

[He glances off-screen]

I've a Klink I've had for a few months now and he just isn't...I'm not sure he's happy here. I don't seem to understand him like I do everyone else and he just doesn't seem happy with me.

[Clink is just...clinking around an old radio, clacking when Zedd buzzes. Hi.

Even for a mechanical Steel-type, Clink is pretty...emotionless.]

[What's on the radio, Clink? Does it work?]

[No. He wants to learn how it works but he doesn't understand it. His fake-babbling doesn't seem to get people to teach him, either.

Martin sighs]

I should be able to understand him better.

[rainsrespite]

[Zedd blinks and looks at Martin.

And he repeats what Clink said. He wants to know how the radio works.]

[Martin facepalms]

That's the problem? He's always babbling about radios, but it's never accurate. I know he likes to sound smart, so I didn't think he wanted to be taught about them...not that I could, mind you, but I can get books. Why did he never say that?

[Clink chimes. He's not very good at organics like humans and other 'mons. He thought it was obvious and thought everyone was making fun of him when they asked what was wrong.]

[Zedd's eye swivels in place going back and forth. He doesn't know.]

Well, that or you could make friends with a mechanic? There are a few of them around...

[Clink clunks, gears whirring. He doesn't like other organics. He likes Martin.

Martin understand that and smiles a bit]

Apparently, he doesn't like other people.

Then, buddy, I guess you're going to learn how to fix a radio.

[Yuuna reaches a hand out and runs it along Zedd's casing.]

Mechanicals are really nice companions too, you know. Zedd's been with me as long as Gouken.

I just don't understand them as well, I suppose. Boar isn't very...emotionless, compared to other Steel-types, and Clink being so emotionless threw me.

Well you have to remember Boar's a ghost. Ghosts were alive.

[He sighs]

I'm an idiot sometimes, aren't I?

Sometimes.

[She laughs a bit.]

I think maybe it'll help you both, learning this stuff.

I would certainly save on radio replacements...

You would. and he'd be happier.

Which is my main concern.

[Clink whirrs and moves to float by Martin's back, nuzzling him as only a pair of gears can--massaging his back with the gears.]

...This is affectionate, right?

I'd say so. I mean, I've never had a Pokemon made of gears, but that seems affectionate?

Good, because he is really good at that and it feels amazing.
