[Good afternoon/evening, Union. This is Belbul. Belbul is a Carbink, and she has a Problem.

The Problem would be the (obviously foreign) boy sleeping on the bed next to her. They're in a low-end inn on the edge of Union and she is frankly worried. She pans the band out to the window, where the sign for the inn can be seen, back to the boy, and then she adds, very loudly:]

CARBINNNN!

[Translation?

"THORIN!"

Her cry wakes the boy up, who flails and looks around]

Belbul? Where's the fi--oh, hey, you got it to work! [He takes the band, yawning] Is this thing on?

[She hasn't learned to place accents yet.]

I heard that you use something different, yeah, but I wasn't exactly sure what.

[youngestone]

Mostly I just run around if I need to find people. It's usually more reliable.

[frozenflame]

Is that a fact? And that's more reliable than just...calling...them?

[She doesn't seem convinced.]

[youngestone]

[He shrugs]

The calls don't get dropped.

[frozenflame]

No...but I've never had them get dropped on me before.

[She rolls her shoulder and idly strokes the Ivysaur's head. Jiraiya? Wheezes happily.]

But it works, all the same. I take it you're a newcomer then? How are you liking Union?

[youngestone]

It's a lot colder than I thought. Otherwise I haven't been here long enough to really tell. We only got in last night.

[frozenflame]

Is that so? Well, are you intending to stay for a while? Because winter in Union is really very cold. At least, compared to what I felt when I was in Caldera.

[youngestone]

Mother sent me to find and keep my uncle company. I think I'm here for a while. Kili, at your service!

[frozenflame]

Ah...and your uncle is...?

[A beat, and she realizes she's being rude.]

I'm Yukiko Amagi. It's nice to meet you, Kili.

[youngestone]

Thorin. Tall, kind of unfriendly looking, may work in a forge or something. Nice to meet you, Miss Amagi.

[frozenflame]

Ah, well...all the forges I know about are in the industrial district. So...the other side of town from where I live.

[youngestone]

...that doesn't tell me much, really.

[frozenflame]

Well, I know...but I don't really know exactly where you are? did you come in the north or south gate?

And I guess it's worth saying that the side closest to Caldera is where I live, so, the east side is where the forges are.

[The mun thinks...but feel free to reverse that if I'm wrong. Yukiko would know, but the mun is lazy]

[youngestone]

The north, I think? Pretty sure I'd have to get really lost to come in from the south.

[frozenflame]

[*snerk* Yukiko's face splits into a grin.]

P-Probably! But...I mean...I don't know...

[youngestone]

[He laughs]

Not even Uncle Thorin could get that lost!

[frozenflame]

That's the guy you're trying to find?

Yeah. What, did something happen?

I saw a broadcast earlier. I think he was banned from a library...

...what? That's not--that can't be Thorin.

[frozenflame]

That was the name he gave on the network...

Maybe it's another Thorin. My uncle's tall, dark hair, probably does something with metal?

[frozenflame]

That was what he looked like. I mean...I'm not making this up...

No, no, I'm not saying you are! But my uncle? Kicked out of anything? Maybe a pub, sure, but not in years.
