[action] some days must be dark [closed]
Who: Junko Enoshima, Kazuichi Souda
Where: Union business district.
When: 1/29, late afternoon
What: The weather is conspiring against her.
[The day had started out fine. Or at least not relentlessly annoying. Sure, it was still cold as hell, she was still bored, everything still sucked but at least it had been dry, instead of this awful freezing rain-- more like sleet, really, because even normal rain was something she could handle, as annoying as it was. This, though, this is intolerable; she hates hates hates cold and wet and she's never gotten so thoroughly soaked and chilled so quickly.
She's taken cover where she can, tucked into a doorway that's at least a little out of the wind with Arashi-- who is exactly as unhappy as she is, but shielding her all the same, putting his larger luxio form to use. They're obvious, too brightly colored to blend into the samey greyness of the rainy city, but it's nothing they can help for the moment.]

If you don't know them, that is, and if your prized pooch pal doesn't see them.
Though Junko may not have noticed, the doorway under which she's grabbed shelter is directly across the street from Kazuichi's two-level shanty of a workshop-house, and Belaire can see her from her place at the window.
(Fire types may not like water, but the smell of rainy air is always a treat.)
Catching sight of the stunky and her shinx, Belaire sits up, stares out the window, and tilts her head. She recognises this girl! Junko, from a few weeks ago. She barks for Souda's attention, and when he comes to the window, his shoulders fall.
You see, if he lived alone, Souda would find a million and one reasons to argue against going out to get her. But if he did that to Belaire, he'd surely lose-- not that he wouldn't lose against himself, but it's a double loss if he disappoints Belaire.
So after a few minutes of Souda bitching to himself under his breath, puling on a loose pair of pants, and dragging his feet downstairs, Junko may be able to catch him pulling up the grate of the work shop.]
Ey.
Ey! You! Get over here!
[yeah, that's totally how you get a girl's attention, Souda.]

Kazuichi Souda, that mechanic kid. God damnit. She should've paid more attention to where the hell she was; she hadn't meant for anyone she knew to see her, but-- it's so disgusting out she can't really say no, can she, especially when Arashi is looking at her imploringly. They streak across the street together and duck into the shop, just inside so as not to track too much water everywhere.
She can at least try to be a little polite.]
Thanks.
[Even if it sounds a little like she's spitting the word. She shoots a look his way, wringing out her hair.]
Your manners still haven't improved, huh?
no subject
[If he seems a bit bummed that her thanks is so rough, well.
He is.
(But at least she thanked him.)
As Belaire waits toward the back of the workshop area, Kazuichi grumbles and lets the grate back down.]
Hello, Junko!
[she greets, tail a-wag as usual. She looks to Kazuichi, who leans his shoulder against the grate slightly, pressing the pads of his fingers together and looking as though he's waiting for something (something to happen, something to be said), though his gaze remains on his mauvey-pink-tinted fingers.]

"'Ey you get over here?" C'mon.
[Still, he did let her in, and she doesn't snip at him much. She turns to squeeze water out of her sopping tail, too, after giving it a good shake-- god, she hates this, all her fluff is turned against her by this weather.
Arashi takes this as his cue to shake, too, though he has the sense to pad away from everyone first.
Of course, the wuff gets her attention, and she grins towards the Houndoom, softening just a little.]
Hello, Belaire!
[Marginally less damp, Arashi bounds over as well, his fur and little half-mane sticking up in all directions.]
Hey! Hey! You evolved too!
no subject
[Belaire gives Arashi a sniff hello before looking over his head toward Kazuichi, who's still kind of shuffling by the wall.]
We've been working a little each week.
[Another moment's hesitation and finally (if only because he can tell that Belaire is getting annoyed with him), Kazuichi speaks up again for something that isn't, you know, whining.]
...You could use the shower if y' want.
[A half-hearted shrug. Kazuichi doesn't even look at her.
...Still, it's the right thing to do, so it's not entirely like pulling teeth.]
Or I could get you a towel, or somethin'.
no subject
Junko, of course, is much less so, and shoots a look of surprise and uncertainty Kazuichi's way before she gets back to hand-combing her drippy tail.]
What? No, I-- It's fine.
[Her voice settles back into her usual casual drawl as she goes on, and that lazy smile flickers back on.]
You don't want me around, I don't wanna be here-- it's no big deal. I can just chill in here until the fucking rain stops if you're cool.
[Like she is totally not homeless and soaked through and freezing, no, she's completely fine.
The shivering is kind of throwing off her ability to lie convincingly.]

A rejection of a completely practical option. That's enough to switch Kazuichi's concern from 'Belaire will get mad' to--]
Are you crazy? You're gonna catch a cold like that!
Or-- [Don't say wind up smelling like wet skunk, Kazuichi.]
I-I dunno. Jeez! Come on, I'm offerin', ain't I?
[He motions toward the door Belaire is standing near, already starting to pout.
Belaire, however, looks over her shoulder to watch this. It's nicer when she doesn't have to butt him into this kind of thing-- usually he likes helping out, but he's always either been a. embarrassing; b. completely useless; c. intimidated; or d. all of the above when it comes to helping girls.
This boy, she swears.]

She bristles a little at his voice, shoulders coming up tense; all arguments translate to fight and she's ready before she realizes that's not the intent at all. It takes her a second to readjust, where she snorts and makes a show of shaking some more droplets out of her fur before she can stride forward like she's absolutely breezy and carefree.]
Alright, fiiiine, if you're that damn worried.
[Because if he offers it's not her fault if she begrudgingly accepts, right? It won't get used against her later. Because she didn't need anything, he insisted, right?]
no subject
Kazuichi, however, having received his confirmation that she'd do it, walks to the door in the back to beckon her over.]
This way. Jeez, act like you wanna freeze...
[Opening the door (and allowing Belare to scamper in first), it's obvious how small this house really is. From the doorway a hallway closet to the right side is visible, across from a somewhat claustrophobic set of stairs. Behind that staircase is a kitchen-diningroom combo and beside it is a bathroom and shower behind a curtain..
Upon seeing that curtain, Kazuichi seems to remember the place is a god damn mess, and bristles up.]
W-Wait a second, uh--
[With Belaire holding the door open, Kazichi hurries to said bathroom, leaving behind only the sounds of hurried rearranging.]
