Sixth Prayer: Blazing Soul [Video/Action]
Action, near the Flower Grove:
[Evening had fallen, coming on quicker than she'd expected and Rei hadn't brought along any of the Pokemon she had that could teleport her or fly them home, so camping for the night had been the best bet. With Makoto and other friends not really prepared for a trek home in the dark, in this weather, it was the safest bet, anyway. And with her and Casius' natural body heat, it wasn't exactly like the large tent was anything short of cozy. Dinner had been simple, and sleep had come easily after a hard day of training and searching.
And then the dream started. Intense emotions swelled in Rei and it wasn't long before she woke up gasping, hands clutching at her chest. Breathing was hard, the air in the tent cloying and almost humid, and she stumbled out with a choked off cry. Which was when the change hit her. There was little chance of anyone or anything in the area missing her surprised scream. A sudden, intense shock of psychic power rippled across the nearby area, a psychokinetic shockwave not unlike the clouds that precede a volcanic eruption.,
Then came the fire. Lots of fire. A pillar of flame stabbed into the heavens over the little campsite, melting snow and frightening away a flock of now awakened Pidgey. At the center of it all, Rei threw up her arms and screamed again, desperately trying to find some way to make it calm down, to get control again so the spectacle doesn't continue. It's too much, a display of power she'll likely never manage again. And one that's bound to attract some sort of attention.]
Video:
[When Rei addresses the network this evening, there's some obvious differences in her appearance than the last time she'd used the Warp Band. The first, perhaps most obvious, is the glowing sigil on her forehead and the burning orbs in the air around her. The second is the way the light catches her eyes, and the sheer intensity of them. They'd always been bright, but there's something new there, a not-quite fire dancing behind them. Her voice is light, almost amused, but also touched with a bit of worry. She's tired of this.]
So I've been having nightmares the past few nights. Bad ones about falling and drowning and worse. I thought I'd try and get away from them tiring myself out with some training, but that hasn't seemed to have helped. How do you deal with them?
[It's a call for help and advice in general, and at the same time she's hoping that it'll bring certain others to contact her too. They'd know who they were. If they don't think, the other Senshi can expect a private text message sent to them the next morning, simply asking if they have time to talk.]
[Action]
She reaches her other arm out and embraces the friend who’d just put life and limb at risk just for her.]
I know you promised, Ami-chan. I…thank you
[Action]
She tilts her head and closes her eyes.]
You, Usagi-chan, and the others would do the same for me, if it ever happened. Besides, who better to put out a fire than me? [She teases. Her other water and ice pokemon come closer, keeping the fire in place.]
You're not hurt, are you?
: [Action]
[Rei cannot help but laugh just a bit, hugging even tighter. The fire dies down even more as her emotions begin to settle. This would be a possible necessity in the future, she's willing to bet.]
I'm not hurt, no. I just...it was so sudden. But I know I evolved again.
[Action]
[She moves to put a strand of Rei's hair back behind her ear.] What caused your evolution?
[Action]
The answer though, is not so nice.]
A dream. A nightmare.
[Action]
[Action]
Different. They're almost always different. This one...well...this one was new.
[Action]
Do you want to tell me about it?
[Action]
It...was of drowning.
[Action]
Drowning? [She pressed a hand to her lips.] What were you drowning in? [Did Rei have a fear of water? Or was it because water was the opposite element to fire?]
[Action]
It's not the worst dream I've had, but it's one of the more vivid ones.
[Action]
[Action]
[And...her tent. And very nearly Mako's eyebrows.]
But I...had to. I just...I wouldn't let myself die like that.
[Action]
You always have nightmares, Rei-chan? [That is what concerned her more. If this was her response to such things...] I wonder... [She wasn't exactly skilled at interpreting dreams. To boil all the water away, thus the fire, but why water? Why this nightmare? Was it because her life was in danger?]
Your nightmares are always different you said. Are they always nightmares where you're trying to stay alive?
[Action]
[She takes a breath, patting her chest with a free hand. She has thoughts and theories...but she's rather uncomfortable sharing them at the moment.]
Most of the nightmares are of bad things happening around me. You or Usagi-chan or Mako-chan or Eiji or other people I care about being hurt. Sometimes they're of me, but mostly...it's other people.
[Action]
Were they nightmares... or premonitions? She frowned.]
I don't know how to change these nightmares into peaceful dreams. [Such a thing was not within her knowledge.] But I will help anyway I can to make them become that way.
[Action]
[Rei's fingers curled around Ami's, the cool touch there welcome even if it was overwhelmed. She knew it'd be that way till Ami managed a second evolution...which could be some time, and in an odd way she found herself annoyed. At herself for jumping ahead, and at Ami for being a bit slow. It's the kind of selfish thought she often has, but never lets herself think too much on.]
And...thank you. I know you'll do what you can. Just being here is enough, honestly.
[Action]
[She doesn't know about Rei's selfish thought, but if she did, she wouldn't be upset. She understands how frustrating it can be to be ahead of many, of waiting for others to catch up or to be left behind. She knew both positions well enough. She wouldn't blame Rei for such a thought.]
Well, I'll always be here, Usagi-chan and the others too.
[Action]
[Though she hates it. And hates applying the word to herself, in a way. Because like always it sets her apart.]
It's just...I guess it's gotten more frequent as my powers grew. Before I really started training myself, it was rare.
[Action]
I'm not trying to make this dire, but the last thing I want is for you to get hurt from exhaustion.
[Action]
[Action]
Perhaps it is a matter of finding the right meditation?
[Action]
Who knows what this new change will bring.
[Action]
[Action]
[She teases back of course.]
You still need clothes that probably won't survive extended contact with me.
