Hi there, and Happy New Year I suppose. Mama says I should use this to get to know people in the city. Which I guess is a good idea, since there just seem to be so many people here. I'm not really used to that. Mama and Papa and I've been out exploring for years and years and years now. [Her expression brightens.] It's been a lot of fun! Mama knows a ton about plants and rocks and stuff and Papa's like super amazing at studying Pokemon and finding new species and stuff like that! Sure there weren't a whole lotta other people, but we had each other and our Pokemon, so it was fine.

[Her expression darkens and she frowns. An uncharitable person might even say she's pouting]

But then Papa fell and we had to come back here 'cause he hurt his leg, and now I keep hearing them whisper that I should stay here when they go out again so I can go to traditional school and make friends and stuff. [She crosses her arms over her chest and now she really is pouting.] I don't like that idea at all. It's too crowded and loud here. And there's nowhere near as many interesting Pokemon.

I didn't mean to say Pokemon here are bad or anything! They're just... known. I'm used to being out with Mama and Papa finding new species and things.

Well, it might be hard to get to know a Pokemon until you become friends with them. [or humans, for that matter - and they look more alike than Pokemon do, for the most part.

I suppose you're right. I mean there's tons of Murkrow around places, but Licorice is special because he's my friend.

School's overrated anyways. It's almost never about what you actually want or need to know right then. Better to just read stuff on your own and teach yourself whatever you need.

I know! And it's not like Mama and Papa haven't been teaching me so far. I'll bet I know more useful stuff than most kids my age. Especially about Pokemon.

But mostly it just feels like a huge waste of time. I mean, if you already know what you're doin', what's the point, you know?

There's quite a lot you can learn in traveling, especially when it concerns plants and pokemon, but somethings can only be learned in a classroom. It's important to find a healthy balance of the two.
