Nico Nico Go [Closed]

Who: Nico, Maki and Chie
What: Nico is looking for a shiny whimsicott, and Maki agreed to help her... while dragging along Chie, who Nico doesn't know she's dating.
When: Late November
Where: The Flower Grove

[Given how Nico had spent the better part of the month searching, of course Maki knew about it, those times Nico was back and came crashing at her house. The frequency drop that should have happened from how often she was outside the city now seemed to be cancelled out by how often she didn't want to be at home, with how tired she was, helping her little siblings out all the time, however much she loved them, was just too much sometimes. So of course there was plenty of complaining involved, and when Maki suggested lending a hand in the search... well, it took a bit of getting around too, but eventually Nico agreed.

What she didn't necessarily agree to was Chie coming along. The last time they'd talked had been during that whole embarrassing dream ordeal, and for Nico's part, at least, it felt at least a little awkward. Still, as they reached the Flower Grove, she couldn't help but brighten up. Despite cooling weather elsewhere, the whole place was still beautifully in bloom with some of the cutest pokemon darting about]

Well, we're here! Remember, the one we're looking for has a black body, blue horns and pure-white fluff! Let's be serious about this.

[Yes she is glaring at them]

[ Maki didn't want to think their relationship was falling apart, because Maki still cared a lot about Chie. She was cool, and funny, and tough too, someone that Maki felt safe around. She had never had a girlfriend before, though she may not have been Maki's first crush, she was definitely her first kiss. But as stupid as it was, Maki didn't want Nico to be upset with her either, putting her in a difficult spot, that she should have realized might happen before. ]

Look I-- [ Maki stops talking when the two other girls point out that rustling, because she was a little preoccupied to hear it at first. Turning around slowly, her tail practically wrapping around her leg, Maki is more than a little surprised when out pops a giant ball of cotton. Maki's response is, of course, hiding behind Chie, grabbing the girl's arm from behind, before she realizes just how stupid she is being afraid of that. ]

[Chie steps in front of Maki rather naturally, her natural defensive instincts kicking in. Most of the Pokemon here are tame, but if Maki is worried, it's Chie's job to protect her and make her feel at ease. She does relax her posture a bit, though, once she sees what their mystery guest is.]

Whoa! Hey Nico, looks like we found your Pokemon!

W.... wooooooooow!

[And just like that, everything they were arguing completely leaves Nico's mind as she's completely entranced by the new arrival. To think, after all these weeks of searching, she'd finally found it...]

A, ahh... that fluffy white cotton, almost a little pink, that black body and those bright blue horns, those mischievous eyes... you're so cuuuuuute!

[She's just... gently sneaking towards it as the pokemon floats in front of them, gradually drifting downwards, like it's light as air. It seems mostly curious about them for now.]

[ If there's one thing Chie has going for her over Nico, she's fiercely loyal and protective of Maki. And that's something that made her so attractive to her in the first place. When she realizes that the Pokemon they are looking at is the one Nico's not been able to shut up about for weeks, she calms quickly. ]

That's it? That's what you've been searching for so much?

[ Tail returning to normal, and releasing her death grip on Chie, and already going to her hair. ]

Aww, it is cute!

[Chie smiles, stepping back and letting Nico take center stage.]

All right, Nico, it's all you now.

[Nico is broken from her reverie by Maki's unimpressed comments]

Wh, what are you talking about? It's so cute! Ugh, we'll have to find some normal ones to show you...

[But first, she has to befriend this one. She activates the warp band as she approaches]

Would you like to be friends with me? Nico~ Nico~ Ni~

[The Whimsicott takes one look at her... then shakes its body, cotton spores filling the air with fluff and covering all three of them in a thick down.]

Ack!

I-I guess you could say it's cute.

[ Maki steps back next to Chie, but finding no other words she can say to her. That awkward moment was gone for now, but Maki couldn't forget that it had happened. The two girls she cared about (N-Not that she cares about Nico) both looked at her so disappointedly. She didn't want to see that again.

That is her thought process, until she finds cotton in the air around her, before suddenly sticking to her. Like the cat she is, Maki tries to remove it by batting at it uselessly, prompting laughter from the little Whimsicott, and probably the other two girls if they look at her too. ]

A-Ah, hey!

[Chie laughs too, despite herself. She knows this is probably embarrassing for Maki, but that is just so cute.]

I think that's just how he says hi! Do you like us, little guy?

Pttthhhphh, pfft, ack! It got in my mouth!

[Nico is pretty sure that's NOT just how it says hello, not with how it's laughing at her reaction]

You little... you're lucky you're so cute, or I'd be really mad at you!

[Whimsicott does not seem intimidated, but it doesn't seem to be running or about to cover them in more cotton as they brush it off. And with the warp band on... she can sense how amused it is.]

Geez, you're a little tease, aren't you?

[ It is embarrassing! It's even stuck on her tail and no matter how much she shakes it's not coming off. She just turns a little red, looking at Chie despondently. ]

Maaa...C-Chie! You could help me at least!

[ She's going to let Nico have her moment with her Pokemon, because even as much as she wants to say something to Nico about being stuck like this because of her...she doesn't want to be the cause of her losing her chance. ]

Sorry, sorry! Here, let me help...

[Chie walks over to where Maki is standing and starts trying to brush and pick off little pieces of cotton from her clothes, ears, and tail. She figures Nico's got this well in hand at the moment, so it's time to tend to her girlfriend.]

[And now Nico's looking over at Maki and... she can't help laughing too. Her and the whimsicott are both pointing and laughing at her now.]

You're more like a sheep than a cat!

[Yeah, it seems... they can bond over being little asshats about someone else's misfortune. Even if Nico's still covered in fluff too.]

Thanks..

[ Sighing, Maki focuses on Chie as she gets the cotton off of her, trying to stand still and not start shaking all over to get it off. Sometimes against her will she's more cat-like than she ever was before.

But while she's getting the cotton off, having two things laughing at her (ignoring Chie's amusement) Maki can't stop from scowling at Nico and her new bets friend apparently. ]

I-I'm glad the two of you think it's so funny!

It's fine, Maki. You look even cuter like this.

[Chie smiles, trying to lighten the mood for her a little. She knows it's just how Maki deals with embarrassment, but she'd like her to be able to laugh and smile about it a little, so she sticks a piece of the cotton she pulls off onto the tip of her own nose.]

There, now it's stuck to me too.

[Maki's protests just make them both laugh more, and it's a bit before they calm down.]

You know, I think we can really get along!

[She means, of course, the whimsicott, who seems to agree.]

[ You can say that chie, but then she's just going to blush because she's being called cute and she's the worst at handling compliments from people she likes. Still, seeing the cotton on her cold girlfriend's nose makes her laugh a little, her tail finally swishing back and forth like normal. ]

You look c-cute like that too, Chie.

[ Sorry Nico, you're being ignored for the moment. ]

Yeah! Now we match.

[Chie laughs again, glad to see Maki's finally relaxing a little. She reaches out to pull a piece of fluff off her cheek, leaning in for a moment after to give her a little kiss on the same spot.]

[Wow you two need to stop that no flirting NO KISSING]

...get 'em, whimsicott!

[Nico points her finger and her new friend happily complies by unleashing another flurry of cotton all over the two lovebirds]
