Who: A whole lot of losers (this can mean you). Specifically, Ankh, Eiji, probably all of the Senshi, Martin, Elly and Fei. Nozomi? Possibly more Love Lives?? A WHOLE LOT OF LOSERS... I tagged everybody I knew would be here that I knew the canons for. :<
What: Hino Eiji's birthday!!
When: October 22! All day, all night, as long as y'all wanna celebrate this hobo.
Where: Hikawa Shrine.

He was pretty sure Rei had said something about it being Eiji's birthday. He didn't actually care overmuch, since she had come to him with the request that he take Eiji and distract him until a specific time, and given him the idea of making him buy ice cream. Ankh liked ice cream. In fact, it was about his favorite thing. So when it had been suggested that he could force Eiji into buying him some, whilst still fulfilling some kind of request from Rei, it meant he was getting ice cream and having the grumpy Shrine Maiden indebted to him (at least, in his own mind). So while there was the vaguest of concepts in his head that this was a distraction for some kind of celebration in honor of Eiji, he was mostly interested in the fact that he was making the vagrant buy him something.

And so here they were, Ankh dragging Eiji by the sleeve, heading into town.

"You walk too slow, how do you walk this slow? You're taller than I am."

She doesn't catch the double meaning because she still doesn't know that the theater is actually a front for the DDF! So, Usagi just thinks that Haruka might want more help around the theater because.. reasons? ]

But, I won't mind helping out once in awhile if you're low on staff!

i wonder if she can *actually* cook while drunk. like is this a secret superpower

Haruka has to crack up at that response though. It's just so....Usagi. ] We'll see about that.

[ So much for not taking an actual sip of this stuff. It helps occupy her mouth so she doesn't have to talk. ] There's no one you won't help out, huh.

[ That laugh Haruka makes just seems to loosen that anxious knot in the pit of her stomach. If she could make the woman laugh like that, then there was still a bit of hope that things could be like they had been before....

And it's like something clicks in Usagi's head. The girl might be a space case half the time, and really, she should have picked up on some of Haruka's double meanings much earlier.... but... better late than never? ]

Well, yeah. Of course I would. I might whine a lot but I'm not going to sit back if my help is important.

[ Usagi's not very good at the double meanings, but, she's pretty sure Haruka will see right through that and the gaze that holds a hesitant but determined smile. ]

she does eventually get to the point when sober that the food only LOOKS disgusting...

[ Haruka's tempted to ask "No matter what's asked of you?" but honestly, words can't assuage her doubts, only actions. And in practice thus far, you've always chosen to talk your way out of trouble. What's more, your arguments were naive. Heatran wouldn't have listened. She isn't even sure Darkrai had. Saving the world will be impossible for you.

Right now that depresses Haruka more than it makes her angry - it's not Usagi's fault as much as it is the world's, for not living up to Usagi's beliefs, but Usagi's the one who's going to suffer (at Haruka's hands if need be, at that) - so she just sighs and gives Usagi a tiny half smile. ] We'll see about that.

[ Ah, there's movement around the cake. Haruka looks over. ] Later, then?
