A Very Merry Hobo Birthday... To You!

Who: A whole lot of losers (this can mean you). Specifically, Ankh, Eiji, probably all of the Senshi, Martin, Elly and Fei. Nozomi? Possibly more Love Lives?? A WHOLE LOT OF LOSERS... I tagged everybody I knew would be here that I knew the canons for. :<
What: Hino Eiji's birthday!!
When: October 22! All day, all night, as long as y'all wanna celebrate this hobo.
Where: Hikawa Shrine.

He was pretty sure Rei had said something about it being Eiji's birthday. He didn't actually care overmuch, since she had come to him with the request that he take Eiji and distract him until a specific time, and given him the idea of making him buy ice cream. Ankh liked ice cream. In fact, it was about his favorite thing. So when it had been suggested that he could force Eiji into buying him some, whilst still fulfilling some kind of request from Rei, it meant he was getting ice cream and having the grumpy Shrine Maiden indebted to him (at least, in his own mind). So while there was the vaguest of concepts in his head that this was a distraction for some kind of celebration in honor of Eiji, he was mostly interested in the fact that he was making the vagrant buy him something.

And so here they were, Ankh dragging Eiji by the sleeve, heading into town.

"You walk too slow, how do you walk this slow? You're taller than I am."

Clink rattles at Martin ("See, I told you so.") but is ignored. Martin just smiles. "Either way, I'm sorry about that. But the party is going really well! Eiji seems to be enjoying it."

[faithfulflame]

Rei turns her attention to Clink and gives the Pokemon a stern look. "You know, even if something is broken that doesn't mean it isn't any less improper to toy with it. That radio could very well have been the way it was for a reason."

Her lips quirk as she returns her gaze to Martin, laughing softly. "I think he is too. He deserves it, really. He works so hard, and I just...wanted to make sure today was special for him."

[warriormouse]

Clink ignores Rei and goes off to spout some more pseudo-techbabble at whoever will listen. Rude. Martin ignores it.

"And I think you've done a great job at that. Even if Ankh is tossing darts at his head." He neglects to mention that he tossed one himself. It's not important. "Will you need help cleaning up?"

[faithfulflame]

"Ankh...does...that. He's quite an odd boy, all things considered."

Rei takes a sip from her wineglass, chuckling darkly to herself. "I wouldn't say no at all, Martin-san. I'd really appreciate it, in fact."

[warriormouse]

"Wonderful. Maybe I'll actually get a full night's sleep for once." Ever since coming back, he only sleeps well three nights out of the week and he isn't sure why. Maybe this work will help.

[faithfulflame]

"Bad dreams? Or...something else?" Rei can't help but ask, curious.

[warriormouse]

He sighs. "I have no idea. Both Boar and Aubertia, who don't sleep, say they see something at night sometimes but they're not sure what."

[faithfulflame]

"Something as in a spirit bothering you? Or something more physical? If it's the former, I may be able to help. If it's the latter, perhaps a camera?"

[warriormouse]

"That's just it." Martin gestures vaguely around his head. "I'm not sure. It's just confusing and driving me crazy."

[faithfulflame]

"Then perhaps a camera." She pauses and looks at him more closely. "Since it can't be dreams if it's disturbing the Pokemon too."

[warriormouse]

"Neither of them can operate one, however." Martin pauses, thinking. "Actually, none of my Pokémon can operate a camera. They don't have hands." He makes a mental note to do something about that when he's able to leave the city for longer.

[faithfulflame]

"Well, that's certainly going to make that a problem. But I'm sure you'll think of a way to figure all that out." Rei looks at Klink, amused. "How are you feeling, by the way? Now that you're free from the hospital?"

[warriormouse]

The look on Martin's face probably says more than anything he could say. He isn't technically free as they want to do some rehabilitation things with him. He's just avoiding that.

But he won't say as much.

"It's nice," he says instead. "If for no other reason than I get actual, edible food as opposed to the cafeteria's attempts."

[faithfulflame]

Oh she catches that, Martin. She knows doctors, after all, and you are a medical miracle.

"I imagine so. Are you settling back into your home well?"

[warriormouse]

He shakes his head. "I've found a new apartment. My other one was let out." Too many memories anyway. "But the new one has a nice view of the city, so it's not so bad."

[faithfulflame]

"Always good to look on the bright side. Are you staying near the Vale, or elsewhere?"

Partly asked so she'll know if she needs to have Deimos escort him home just to be safe.

[warriormouse]

"Closer to the medical center, just in case something happens. Though I wonder if the Vale wouldn't be a better place for me," he muses. Weird things happen to him, after all, so maybe being near the people who understand the weird things would help.

[faithfulflame]

Rei smiles softly, nodding once. "It might be. It's certainly a place where you'd be able to find spiritual aid if needed."
