Nico Nico Yon [Video/Action]

[Video]

[The video on the warp band turns on with a bit of pecking and feathers, showing Nico, lined up with several of her pokemon - a Marill and Jigglypuff to each side, then outside of them her Skiploom and Shroomish. The location? The Flower Grove, which is despite the season, still enjoying full bloom, all pink and green just like her pokemon. Clearly, this was staged, and the reason why becomes clear]

Music... start!

[Some pre-recorded music starts and soon enough, Nico is singing and dancing to a (less electric guitar-heavy version of) this (click under Audio to listen). Her dancing and singing is light and energetic, but obviously she's been practicing it for a while. Her pokemon... well, Shroomish is doing well, but Skiploom and Marill seem to get distracted every now and then before remembering to dance along - and Jigglypuff seems to keep tripping over itself in nervousness. Still, they make it through the entire song without any major disasters and at the end they all pose.

Once the music fades out, Nico turns to her pokemon with a smile.]

See? You all did great!

[She kneels down to pet and praise them a bit before remembering the warp band, which she hurries over to.]

Hi~! Is this reaching all the way to everyone in Union? It's everyone's favorite Nico-ni~ I hope you liked my song, and now that I have your attention, I have an important question to ask...

[Reaching behind the camera she pulls out... what's clearly a masterpiece of crayon on construction paper.]

Has anyone seen one of these? Nico-ni's been searching for weeks now after hearing a rumor there was one here, but there hasn't been a single sign of it! You'd think it'd be easy to spot when everything else here is so pink...

[Action]

[And if anyone's visiting out by the Flower Grove, they might run into Nico - alternately taking snack breaks with her pokemon, practicing singing and dancing or, y'know, actually searching for pokemon like she came here to do - sneaking through the underbrush, crawling through the grass, climbing trees, all that stuff. And probably looking pretty silly doing it.]

Wow! Did you choreograph that and everything yourself?

[I hope you weren't expecting commentary useful to Pokémon finding.]

Yup! Well, I mean, I had help with the music... [COUGH COUGH MAKI COUGH COUGH] But I did the choreography myself!

[celebrity_commentator]

Yeah...I'm not much for composition either. The dancing was great, though.

I'm sure your Pokémon will get their parts with more practice, too.

Yeah, we're still working on that... and for some of them, they evolved recently so they're still a bit clumsy with their new sizes.

[celebrity_commentator]

You've noticed that too, huh? Sometimes my Meganium still thinks she's an eighth her size...

[Action] OH GOD ACTION

[She is watching Nico sing and dance. When she's done, she will hear and see the face of an excited Honoka behind a tree, clapping like an idiot.]

[Ahh yes the applause of adoring fans WAIT WHAT]

Who's th- Honoka!?

[Yeah she. Didn't expect to run into her all the way out here.]

That was great Nico!

[She comes running over.]

I didn't know you were that good!

Oh, well... [YOU DONE GONE DID IT NOW] Of course I am! I'm an idol after all!

[honokairo]

How long did it take you to become so good?!

[Yeeeeep gunna feed that ego]

[Hanayo comes walking into the Flower Grove in the middle of one of Rin's practice sessions, accompanied by her entire menagerie of Pokemon. Once she spots the other girl, though, she stops in place.]

O-oh... I didn't know someone was already practicing here...

[nicocism]

[And here Nico only brought some of hers... besides the ones that danced, Murkrow was around to operate the camera and other jobs]

Ah, Hanayo! Were you looking to practice too?

[ricericebaby]

I was thinking about it, but if you're already using this spot...

[nicocism]

No, no! We can practice together!

[Hanayo is just too cute to turn away. Plus she's easy to lead.]

Is this for that group Honoka mentioned?

[ That's right, Maki had worked on a song for Nico, though she hadn't really given too much in the way of lyrics. Then again, she can't really be surprised that this is what the girl came up with. But Nico looks...good. Like she actually knows what she's doing. Her Pokemon sadly don't keep up but Maki is for some reason not really looking at them... but who knows why.

So Maki answers, trying to put on an unaffected look on her face, brushing her hair behind her ear. ]

That wasn't that bad. You still have trouble with that middle part and reaching that note, but you're getting better.

[wow RUDE these are the best lyrics okay? And her pokemon are TRYING that's what really matters because even when they mess up they're adorable]

H, hey, I thought I did really well with it this time!

[Like, it was definitely better than the last time Nico practiced this at Maki's house]

[ They are certainly...lyrics. Though Maki thinks they leave a lot to be desired, to go with the song she wrote. Still, Nico did a good job, and she definitely smiled watching, but she's trying to keep it down. She doesn't need Nico getting any haughtier. ]

It's getting better, like I said. With a little more work you'll finally be able to get that note. But it's too early to say it's perfect.

[NO, GIVE HER THE PRAISE SHE RIGHTFULLY EARNED YOU THIEF]

Geez, you're so harsh... even if you're right. [Yeah, Nico won't settle for less than perfection either so she'll concede this one to Maki.]

I'm only being harsh because I don't want you to make a fool of yourself, and get better at singing.

[ Her eyes suddenly flutter open wider. ]

N-Not that it matters to me or anything!

[...And since she doesn't seem to have realized Girlclothes!Feliks and Boyclothes!Feliks are the same person, he's wearing fairly practical traveling clothes today -- a warm coat, tight pants, and tall boots. There's a Flabebe and a Spritzee perched on his shoulders, and he appears to be in the Flower Grove as well. The Gardevoir at his side might look a little more familiar...]

Rad dance, but like, what's that supposed to be?

[Oh hey, it's Pony Boy! Though why does that Gardevoir look familiar...]

Oh, hey, thanks! Nice to see you again.

[Her Murkrow recognizes that Gardevoir though and realizes who it is... and that her master doesn't. Wing to face, sigh.]

Um, it's obviously a whimsicott?

Oh... Well, I haven't met one before, but it looks way cute!

[...At least they seem to be getting along. The Gardevoir sort of catches the Murkrow's eye, with a faintly apologetic look.]

Omigosh, you're missing out - they're super fluffy and adorable! Normally they're brown and green though, which are the one's I've seen here... but I heard there was a special one with blue horns like this! It sounded super cute so I thought I'd try to find it.

For sure? Weird, I must have just like, been running into other Pokemon...

I kinda want to meet one now, though! Maybe I should go looking for one...
