Plot Description: Investigating the giant hole in the ground in the middle of the deep Wild Woods.

[Coming to the designated spot in the Wild Woods, the group came across a group of dilapidated stone structures, save for one. Surrounded in a bit of rubble was a stone structure, lighter in color than the rest of the structures, looking relatively new and quickly assembled.]

Yeah, it's fascinating. Knowing how to get out? Would be even better.

[Peter's not actually being sarcastic about the mud-trap being interesting. He'd just rather it not be used on him]

W-whoa! Are you--

[The mud is worrisome, no doubt -- actually very worrisome -- but what comes to Estelle's mind immediately is that they found people. This is a Seeker's dream come true! This is how legends are made!]

[Or how they're transformed in documented and verifiable knowledge, anyways.]

We are the people of Refuge, the last remaining human civilization to escape the wrath of the gods.

Well... I thought we were anyway.

[They are eyeing the group warily in general, but are definitely also curious.]

Yeah funny thing we thought that too until not too long ago. Did you do the floor sticky thing? Mind letting us up?

Really, we come in peace. We're explorers and researchers.

Yeah! We're here to share information and stuff--uh. [She flashes a confident, cheerful grin at them. This is still AMAZING.] We're from two cities. There's a lot out there, and we can share all sorts of stuff, you know?

[ Shyvana, unshaken from the, well, shaking, is much less willing to communicate with these unfamiliar people. She'll move herself to the back of the group, watching carefully and making sure that they are safe from the back in case of a hostile move from the newcomers; she's already half shifted with her guard up. ]

I think there's a lot we can talk about, if you let us up.

[They converse briefly in hushed voices for a moment]

We are willing to speak with you, but we cannot allow you to simply leave our entrapment. We do not know your people, nor can we be certain you are truthful. If you will surrender all of your gear and travel peacefully and under guard, you may speak with our elders. If you prove honest, we will return your gear to you and escort you back to the surface when your business is complete.

I like that we get this choice AFTER we're stuck in the mud.

I don't think we have much choice, guys...

[Estelle looks around, before she looks back at them. Not what she wants to do... but, she gets a chance to learn. Sometimes, you take a risk. She drops her staff.]

All right!

Estelle, wait.

[Lux frowns, holding a hand out. Yeah, she doesn't like this too much, but she is also acting leader, so she would have to lead by example.]

You have us at a disadvantage here. You don't know if we're trustworthy, and we don't know if you're trustworthy. The only difference here is that we haven't shown any signs of aggression, at least that we know of.

This is my expedition, I'll take full responsibility. If you find that we're untrustworthy, I ask you not harm the other four. Do what you want with me, but I doubt it would come to that. We'll surrender our weapons for now, but I ask that we keep our gear--you can even go through it if you want, for peace of mind.

[There's a bit more conversation]

Very well. We shall accept your terms, surrender your weapons and let us go through your gear. If we find nothing of immediate danger, we will escort you to our elders, or to the surface if you so desire.

[They move forward to inspect things]

[Ezreal doesn't look happy but he does what was bargained. He shoots Lux a "we will discuss this later" look and opens up his gear, general delver equipment and no visible weaponry]

[Peter doesn't have any weapons on him either, just some notebooks, a Sketchbook, and basic Ranger equipment.]

Ah... yeah, all right.

[Estelle follows Lux's orders -- and she has her staff, a notebook, and some other basic travel supplies. Her staff is the only one weapon, though.]

Thank you.

[She gives Ezreal a confused "What?" look before laying down her staff and pack. In it are basic travel supplies, another sketchbook and charcoal, a length of rope, some medical supplies and a lantern. There are no weapons in her pack.]

Fine. [ Shyvana gives up her equipment easily. She was reliant on her own body for so long, and instincts certainly don't fade.

It doesn't mean she's happy about it though. She grabs Lux by the wrist. ]

Lux- let me take your place. I have more of a chance to get out than you do. [ She doesn't need human objects to amplify her strength when she's a six foot dragon. ]

[There's more discussion as some of the people eye Shyvana a bit nervously]

W-well, I think this will be good. We will not alter the initial deal. Do you wish to meet with our leadership, or return to the surface?

We've come this far, I say we make contact. The council will probably bitch and moan if we don't make an attempt.

[Lux gives Shyvana a reassuring smile, knowing why she takes that stance.]

It's all right, it won't come to that.

[She looks to Ezreal, nodding. Although the council comment does get a look from her.]

I agree. I want to meet with their leadership. [She looks toward the rest, waiting for their opinions]

[Peter rolls his eyes at Shyvana's comment.]

I'm up for it. We can't screw this up more than we already have, anyways.

Yeah, no argument from me! We can, uh, do the diplomacy thing! We're good at that!

Well if everyone is in agreement, I won't be one to say otherwise.

[ but she has her eyes on you, tiny ground people. Watch it. ]

[The team is lead through narrow and twisting caves, the route is quite confusing and the more perceptive of the team may notice that they've been lead in circles a few times - it seems the group aims to keep the location of their settlement as secret as possible, at least for now. As they get closer, though, the team will notice litwick held in small niches carved into the walls. Many stand at attention, but it's clear that they're frequently flitting among the different fittings and socializing with each other. Their purpose, however, is quite clear - they're there to keep the tunnels lit for the human inhabitants.

Finally, the group emerges into a subterranean grotto. Placid, crystal-clear water forms an underground lake of considerable size, and light refracts gently off a sparkling crystal formation jutting from the center. The village itself is built into the very walls of the cavern, with winding paths spiraling around the walls, stalagmites and stalactites that make up the grotto. It's impossible to tell how many people live here, but it's definitely less than the city of Caldera. Litwick, as well as a few Lampent and Chandelure can be seen in the area, and the light they produce refracts off the crystal formation making the caverns surprisingly bright. The sound of running water can be heard in the distance. An older man is standing near the entrance, dressed in robes and carrying a gnarled staff of polished wood.]

These are the travelers, then?

[His voice is strong and he is looking upon the team with piercing deep blue eyes]
