Hello?...

[Warp bands are still too foreign for her and being this her first time ever trying to use the network she is actually pretty lost about how to use it. While she originally planned to use only the audio function for this she seems to have chosen video too by mistake, an error that now shows an image of her awkwardly close to the camera.]

I recently moved from Caldera and saw lots of cute decorations around. Can anyone tell me more about them?

[The amount of candy going around caught her attention more than the decorations though, as expected of a huge sweetooth like her.]

[Not only a young girl, a deerling and a surskit are sitting right by this fancy pokepuff shop snacking on a generous sized pack of them without any care in the world, though luckily not clogging the entrance at least, but they also have a surprising amount of luggage with them which only makes the scene even more bizarre. Few things can top the sight of a lively surskit eating pokepuffs that are about it's own size when it comes to absurd sights to begin with.

The girl finishes eating her own portion happily and casually wonders something before reaching for the next pink treat.]

Do you think they'll let me have the recipe, Deery?

[... The Deerling seems to have it's doubts about it.]

[ Maki at first, a few months ago, had been hiding those ears and her tail whenever she went outside or talked to someone over the network. Now, she feels a little better about them, after realizing most people won't actually treat her any differently because of them. She doesn't really notice Kotori looking at those ears though too focused on singing.

Maki's voice is well practiced and powerful, making it very clear she's been training for a long time. Her song isn't something classical or slow though, she has her own style don't you know!

And then it's over and Maki opens her eyes to look at the bird, or is she a puppy now given those eyes, instantly flaring up red like a tomato. ]

T-There, I sang for you, okay?

[If she knew that she is talking with another shifter that would give her even less reasons to hide them. Has Maki ever gotten that chance before? it could be enlightening, to speak with somebody similar to her.]

You are amazing, really!

[Kotori's voice doesn't hide her excitement and admiration at all and those sparkly puppy eyes remain on Maki. Suddenly not embarrassing for the other girl at all.]

Will you be singing somewhere soon? I'd love to hear you on stage... Ah, what is your name first?

[ Maki got help from a couple different shifters when she found herself stuck as a Purrloin, not knowing how to turn back. Sadly, the girl that she had started to get to know because of it sort of disappeared. ]

I-I still have a long way to go if I want to be a professional..

[ Maki has trouble accepting compliments. ]

...But thank you...I guess. I haven't really thought much about performing.

[ Asking for names probably would have been better before Maki went and embarrassed herself singing. ]

I'm Kotori Minami, sixteen years old! I came to Union to study and this is Deery.

[The Deerling lets out a shy greeting, not particularly happy about being involved in this. He won't complain about his trainer though.]

[ This girl is...sugar. Maki feels like she needs to go and brush her teeth already. Not that she has a problem with her, no, she likes her actually, she wishes she could be so open with her feelings like Kotori seems to be. ]

[ She's going to stop twirling her hair and being tsundere for the moment, to look closer at Kotori's Pokemon. ]

Deery? What kind of Pokemon are they? [ Of course, Maki knows so very little when it comes to them. ]

[Being so open has it's own circumstances, you know! Still, Maki can become like this with enough warmth, too. She may not become cotton candy sweet but strawberry syrup could be nice, too.

And yay she gets to introduce somebody to Deerlings! Kotori moves the 'camera' to take the pokemon's image more clearly.]

[ Maybe something more like....tomato sauce. That is her favorite thing after all..

Maki is surprised a little seeing the camera move, but in a way, isn't everyone really passionate about their Pokemon? ]

I guess this would be the time for that sort of thing. I wonder if Fletchling's feathers change..

Deery is my closest friend, we have been together since his egg hatched.

[Pets pets and just Look at the Deerling, he is practically purring. It moves closer to Kotori, taking advantage of the chance to get on her lap.]

They may, bird pokemon take care of their feathers differently in each season~

That's like me and Yaya. She's still really young, but I got her egg as a gift, and decided to keep her.

[ Yaya, hearing her name, acts a little like Kotori, popping her little head into frame too close to the camera. ]

H-Hey, Yaya! [ Complaining a little Maki tries to push the bird down to reply to Kotori. ] Have you always had Pokemon in your life?

She is Yaya? how cute~

[Kotori waves a hand to the other bird clearly not bothered at all by the intense closeness of her beak and the screen. It's cute in a pokemon anyway.]

her feathers are really well cared after, do you take care of it or does she do it herself?

[She giggles before answering, amused by the struggle of the cheerful bird and her trainer. They are close, aren't they? it's sweet.]

Yup! between being a shifter and mother's Deerling farm I've always been surrounded by them.

[ Yaya just bounces up and down like an excited bird, happy to be praised. She's a brat, but Maki still loves her.

Just don't ask where she got the name because then Maki will have to admit that Nico of all people helped her. ]

I try to clean her as best I can, but she's... [ Yaya hop a little and looks up at Maki before pecking Maki's arm a few times. ] R-Right, Yaya wants you to know that she likes your hair.

[ Maki sighs, wondering why she has to do everything her Pokemon says, but it's clear that Maki can't refuse. ]

The 'too' in Maki's reply is not missed by the cheerful girl, her eyes showing more interest now. She leans a bit closer to the camera again.]

Getting praise like that though only makes Yaya wants to be center stage as it were, pushing Maki out of the way to show herself off. ]

[ Maki just gives up trying to push the bird away after a moment, as Yaya seems more intent on showing off for the other pretty bird on the screen. ]

Yeah I am.. [ Kotori might not see it now, but Maki's ears twitch a little on her head. ] I haven't really been one for long though.

[Kotori giggles at the sight, enjoying how lively the other bird is acting since being so willful and proud is definitely a sign of a healthy pokemon.

The thought is a bit amusing given that it would make her Deery's mother too, wouldn't it?]

It may be a lot to get used to but it's also very fun, being a pokemon. Specially if you become small and cute.

[ Yaya can certainly be lively. Maki had no idea what she was in for when she agreed to help an egg hatch, but she still loves Yaya.

Though it seems like Yaya might have found a crush of her own. ]

I-It's not that fun being small! People ignore you or worse...t-they pick you up and carry you around... [ And that has happened more than once with Nozomi's Liepard, and it's embarrassing everytime. ]

[Children can be a handful, can't they? small pokemon are, too.]

Being ignored is not fun, yes, but being carried around can be fun. Wouldn't be nice if a person you like picked you up?

Does age really matter? I believe than when you find the right person everything will fall in place naturally. True love is entwined with destiny.

[Oh, what a majestic white light! as it covers Kotori's form for a short period of time her shape changes to leave behind a very fluffy yellow bird once it vanishes. Kotori does a spin on the air, cheerful.]
