[Warp bands are still too foreign for her and being this her first time ever trying to use the network she is actually pretty lost about how to use it. While she originally planned to use only the audio function for this she seems to have chosen video too by mistake, an error that now shows an image of her awkwardly close to the camera.]

I recently moved from Caldera and saw lots of cute decorations around. Can anyone tell me more about them?

[The amount of candy going around caught her attention more than the decorations though, as expected of a huge sweetooth like her.]

[Not only a young girl, a deerling and a surskit are sitting right by this fancy pokepuff shop snacking on a generous sized pack of them without any care in the world, though luckily not clogging the entrance at least, but they also have a surprising amount of luggage with them which only makes the scene even more bizarre. Few things can top the sight of a lively surskit eating pokepuffs that are about it's own size when it comes to absurd sights to begin with.

The girl finishes eating her own portion happily and casually wonders something before reaching for the next pink treat.]

Do you think they'll let me have the recipe, Deery?

[... The Deerling seems to have it's doubts about it.]

[It could be worse, imagine being trapped between Kotori and Honoka! such level of friendliness could have secondary effects like sleepovers at Yakumo's house. A terrifying thought.

With the lack of resistance the pikachu offers Silk grows bored soon enough, switching to inspecting Iori instead. He touches the Espurr's fluffy paws with his own limbs, curious.
Deery hesitantly sits on the ground, putting himself at a closer level with the smaller pokemon before greeting him with a simple 'Dee'.]

Iori? that's a cute name.

Iori is a bit more easily ruffled though, and he twitches his ears at Silk, trying to knock him off. He's got important psychic things to think about! sTaaahhpp]

I thought so too. He's...been with me a long time. [She looks at Kotori's friends with a pleasant expression. Pokemon are so much easier than people...] Who are your friends?

[Little did Iori know that Silk lacks two key parts of survival: common sense and caution. While it retreats momentarily it's only to gain stability with his rear legs and strike now with two limbs. You'll be touched, fluffy and unknown friend!]

Hehe, is that so? you two must be very good friends.

[At the other girl's question Kotori finds herself glancing at her Deerling's way inmediately, being him her oldest friend.]

They are Silk and Deery! Deery has been with me since his egg hatched at my Mother's ranch and I've taken care of him since then.

[She lowers herself a bit to pet Deery's ears, an action that awards her an appreciative sound from him.]

And I met Silk on the way here actually! he sneaked into my luggage.

[If an Espurr could sigh, it would. Touching...is fine. But...please not the ears.]

I would say we are close. He's been such a loyal friend.

[Yakumo reaches out a hand towards Deery, seeing if he minds pettings? Because he's so cute and fluffy.]

And did he? What species is he? I don't think I've seen one like Silk before?

[Silk doesn't promise anything.]

[The Deerling glances at Yakumo with curiosity and some hesitance at first, his introverted nature showing, but if Kotori doesn't pull her away that means she is a nice person, right? he leans into her direction, obedient. As she believes he is very, very, fluffy.]

The lady who took us to the city said he is a Surskit! she said they are common around the Lake shrine but normally not this lively.

[No, Silk, don't reach for Iori's tail.]

[Gently, Yakumo rubs her hand along Deery's head. She's not going to hurt you? See? And she's much less awkward with you than your trainer...]

A Surskit. They're...certainly interesting looking. Bug types?

[Yakumo has no bugs. But one day!

And on that note, Iori's tail flicks once, trying to knock away the bug! Plz stoooop!]

Deery lets out another happy sound and, in it's own language, he tells his trainer than Yakumo seems to be a nice person. The bird giggles and mentally agrees.

'She is a nice girl, it shows that she loves her friends.']

Yup! I wonder how he'll look once he evolves.

[Maybe he'll become a cocoon and then a beautyfly?

Silk seems to take it as a challenge and now stands on one leg, ready to strike. At least in theory, it's a bit tricky to keep his equilibrium like that.]

Well most bug types turn into flying types too...so maybe that will happen?

[Except Scyther, but she's only ever seen those in books.]

Are you ... a trainer too?

[And Silk? May find himself bowled over by teensy burst of psychic energy. It's not meant to hurt him...but Iori is a bit of a troll.]

Maybe! Silk is so small that he could fly easily but it would be hard to keep him out of trouble if he did.

[Kotori seems truly troubled by the thought for a moment as even in the short time they have known each other Kotori understands that Silk is too lively. Luckily for him Kotori is not the type to give up on friends.]

You could say so, I'm not completely one.

[She was told not to say it everyone but Yakumo is nice, what harm can it do? it's not like she considers it strange herself.]

I'm a shifter.

[As expected those bursts of energy are enough to make the silly bug fall backwards, it's long legs waving in the air as it tries to get up. He whines.]

A...shifter?

[She puzzles over that for just a moment, thinking about it. She knows what they are, logically...but the specifics she doesn't really know. Which prompts her to look a little awkward as she asks.]

What kind of shifter? and...were you a Pokemon first?

[Iori giggles a bit to himself and reaches out with more psychic energy to pick up the bug and set it to rights. Serves you right you little goof! You're cute, though.]

I've always thought of myself as mostly human.

[She giggles after that declaration even though it's surprisingly accurate: having become a shifter so early in life she can barely remember not being this way even if Kotori knows she was born human. It should do as an answer for the second question but the first... ]

A swablu! have you seen one before? they small and fluffy birds, like little clouds flying around.

[She has to stop herself from imitating a swablu's flight. You are not explaining it to a student, Kotori! be serious.]

Maybe showing you would be easier than explaining...

Ah...um...only in pictures. B-but I wouldn't mind seeing.

[Seriously, Kotori. But...she can't just say it, you know? Internally she's really kind of excited!]

[B-but the children really like it! anyway, it's much easier on her to simply show Yakumo, certainly.]

[Actually there isn't much to see: a white light surrounds Kotori's form, hiding it as it changes, and once the light dissipates a small shiny Swablu is left flying in front of her.]

[Yakumo’s eyes widen when it happens all the same and she waits expectantly for something amazing. And she is completely blown away by it! Oh gosh Swablu is just the cutest thing ever!]

Oh! Oh that’s amazing!

[Isn't it?! Kotori flies a bit around Yakumo until finally landing upon her head. She is so light that it's hard to feel she is even there if not for the warmth of her body.]

Hehe~ It's wonderful! I love being fluffy like this.

[She flaps her cotton-like wings eagerly]

[Yakumo is incredibly torn by this! On the one hand, she has some person on her head…and that’s…not making her happy. But on the other, it’s an incredibly sweet seeming girl who is in the body of a little fluffball with about the same weight as a cloud. What…dooooooo!]

[Doesn't this friendship have potential? Kotori is a human being, yes, but she is also a pokemon, that's less scary than a full person.

The little bird uses it's wings to play with Yakumo's hair a bit, enjoying being able to use them again. She has been trying to stay in human form during the whole trip to Union after all.]

Eh? I didn't say it? I'm Kotori! Minami Kotori. What's your name?

[It does. Actually...and with Kotori in Poke-form she can't read her thoughts. That is basically the best thing!

[If anything their pokemon seem to be getting along well now, too. The bug is behaving and the psychic feline has yet to send more attacks it's way.]

[It's too comfortable to move~ Kotori does point at Deery's favorite snacks when they pass by them though, letting out a soft tweet to tell her such.

The clerk seems mostly amused at the situation.]
