Open Log // Haunted Ruins
Who: Haruka, Michiru, and YOU
What: DDF field trip to the newly-discovered ruins. Spoopy ensues.
When: Week 39
Where: Coastal Ruins
Summary: God hunting comes with quite a few hazards. Being haunted is one of them.
[ Something is following them.
Haruka's had that feeling ever since she and Michiru entered the ruins, and it's only grown stronger with time. Even her Eevee is taking great pains to be extra-silent as he pads along, though Haruka has a hunch he's trying to impress his new "babysitter", Bundled Hearts the Spritzee. Whatever. It suits Haruka's goals, and that's all she needs.
If only the rest of the day was going as planned! These ruins haven't taught her anything useful thus far, but there's still this ominous sense of something - waiting. Something watching.
Haruka smirks. Her neck's prickling as if there's something behind her, but she won't turn. Not yet. Not until she's sure she can take - whatever it is - by surprise. ] Maybe we should have brought a housewarming gift.
[ Watch it be another explorer. That'll make her feel silly. ]

[ Watch it be another explorer. That'll make her feel silly. ]

...Yup. Now she's deliberately putting Gold between her and the terrible bug. Her usual self confidence is gone, and it looks like she's just trying her darndest not to attract any attention.]
Fear is a sign of a good warrior, yes? [heh.]
no subject
[He notices Martelé though.] I guess she's in the same boat as me. I thought you said no one's scared by ghost types? [He asks innocently.]
no subject
[ .....Haruka is going to bypass that whole topic, for Martelé's sake. ] Just don't let it interrupt your focus. Anything could be out there.
[ Like bigger bugs, Martelé.
Whoops. ]
no subject
Either way, she is resolutely not looking anywhere near Goku and instead keeps her eyes on the back of her Trainer's legs. If all she has to do is follow, sh-she'll be fine. Right?]
Whatever it is, it doesn't seem like it wants to be seen. [for the moment, in any case]
no subject
[But he glances down at Martele...uh...]
Hey, are you okay? If it'll help Joltik can ride on you and keep you company!
[Meanwhile, a Yamask hides in the shadows! With one of its friends. Seems the male human is a prime target heheheheheh]
no subject
She strides forward, deeper into the ruins, too focused on what's ahead of them to note there's something eerie going on behind them. Gold isn't of much use, either. He's too busy looking sorry. Should he hide behind Martelé instead? They can form a line of Eevee. And she is so strong. He trusts her absolutely. ] Eee....
no subject
She bristles - either out of fear or anger - and continues trailing after her Trainer, muttering something about useless people/Pokemon. Though she is still resolutely using Gold as a buffer between her and the evil bug Pokemon.]
She'll be fine. [Martelé wants to protest that extremely casual assessment of her state of mind vs bug proximity, but she can't...quite show weakness just yet. Especially if Spritzee is around.
Meanwhile, the Yamask seem to be getting excited. Seeing some other mon get completely spooked by their mere presence alone (maybe?) always makes it ten times funnier.]
no subject
This is the bug you wanted to see right? And goes to drop Joltik on her!]
Murkrow, cut it out! [And that's when the Yamask move in, appearing behind Goku as he turns around to try to save the situation...]
no subject
--Oh wait, Trainer is yelling. ] Look out -
[ But Haruka can't make a move against the Yamask with Goku in the way. And Gold.....is Gold.
Oh boy. ]
no subject
Aaaand Michiru is dealing with a bundle of fluff while trying to keep an eye on the Yamask - one of which apparently thinks it's the height of hilarity if it tries to shove Goku to the ground. The others might be trying to do their best to ignore the idiot in their midst and appear appropriately scary.]
no subject
Those three are too busy with that to notice the Yamask shoving Goku, who falls right over onto Murkrow.]
YEEEEEEEEE YAAAAAAAAAA! [Joltik manages to escape in time and avoid being squished, but Goku lands right on top of his naughty bird. Black feathers are flying everywhere as Murkrow freaks out and flaps its wings to get out from underneath, but Goku is just simply too heavy.]
no subject
Gold misses this memo, however, leaping right for the nearest ghosty. He can be strong like Martelé! ] Veeeeeee!!
[ ....aaand he goes soaring right through it only to land in a clump of limbs with his nose bruised against the wall. Team Union: 0, Yamask: 2. ]
Get up. They're just being annoying.
no subject
And Michiru is taking a step away from the Goku/Murkrow pileup for good measure.] We do seem rather entertaining.
[Michiru, this is the opposite of helping.]
no subject
Hey! That wasn't very nice you know!
[Murkrow joins him at his side too. No! that wasn't very nice!]
Murk!!!!
[He doesn't have much room to talk though.]
no subject
Who pointedly sweeps one aside with a flick of her wrist and keeps walking. Small fry. ] Anyone this easily amused can entertain themselves.
Spritz! [ That's right! Spritzee's beak goes up into the air, and she follows her Trainer in a Righteous Huff. Such immature ghosts. Clearly they don't get out enough.
Gold rubs his nose, looks up at Michiru, and vees. If the ghosts are just playing, why doesn't Trainer want to play? ] Ee?
no subject
There's some muffled veeing against her chest, though at least Michiru decides to translate for Gold. A more polite version, in any case.] We have more important things to do, right?
[the lack of response from Michiru towards the ghosts isn't...quite what they expected. Still, the fact that they're rather childish probably says something...]
no subject
You guys kinda act like my seven year old son and his best friend.
Does that mean you have to be put in time out? [He, of course, is just making fun of them, going along with what Michiru and Haruka have been saying.]
[The other Yamask start giggling at their friends being scolded by Goku. Look, he's your dad!]
no subject
Which is why Haruka's really trying to take her leave of them now. Annoying children are better off ignored. ] Good luck.
[ She keeps walking. A few of the Yamask watch her go, then cluster to talk amongst themselves. They then all proceed to follow her in a single file line, eyes narrowed and arms swinging to match her pace. It's copycat time! How long can they imitate the grumpy human before she catches on???
Gold watches this happen, then falls in line behind the Yamask. If this is what we're doing now, okay! He's amenable.
Spritzee looks like she needs a perch. ] Priiii....
[ Haruka, incidentally, has no idea where she's going. ]
no subject
Michiru might be hiding a smile, and even Martelé uncurls enough to take a peek at the procession.]
You seem to have quite a following, Haruka.
no subject
You know, I guess they just want to have a little fun. You guys don't get to have too much fun out here do you?
no subject
Except then Haruka stops suddenly, which sends the lead Yamask phasing through her and the rest of the Yamask piling up into the same airspace like some sort of ghostly traffic accident. Around that corner, she thought she'd heard a noise. ]
Something's coming.
[ The Yamask seem confused, too. Whose arm is this? Okay, and whose mask? ]
no subject
Plus Joltik seemed to have disappeared.]Cooo... [and that's all the warning they get before they're hit with the multiple black beams of some Pokemon's Night Shade attack!
...the Yamask seem to have retreated smartly - even if they're now all peeking out from around the corner of a nearby building.]
no subject
What's going on? [He looks over to the other women. Are they okay? He tries to catch a glimpse of what might be attacking. All he can see are some stripes...but there's a lot of them. The pokemon has only come out of the shadows a little.]
I don't know what that is, but it looks big!
no subject
And unknown. She doesn't even recognize that silhouette. Haruka summons more wind to her hand, ready to whip it at their assailant should it try any more tricks. ]
I think we found the father.
no subject
Martelé, Sand Attack. [the Eevee blinks, but turns around and complies, kicking up dust with her back paws. She was totally ready to Bite the heck out of that......(comparatively) big Pokemon too!!!
Michiru's Warp Band glows and her Gardevoir appears in a flash. The Pokemon sizes up the situation with a glance, and then casts Light Screen over the entire party without another word.]
